"9-29-2024We were a party of 6 and came for a double birthday. The service was great and the also the ambiance, but we thought the food was a little subpar for the price.I did enjoy my Dover sole and the sauteed spinach and mac & cheese are highly recommended."
"The portion sizes are wonderful and it's a great time if you sit at the table and enjoy the antics of the chefs when you are served your meal. The food is just as you want it and they make everyone at the table laugh and have a great time, even with the people that you don't know! I have to say it's a fun experience and one of the largest portion sizes for hibachi place in the area. This is not some stuffy location. You'll see all different types of people eating here and they make sure that you enjoy your food and that everything is great for you. The drinks are phenomenal. They have quite a variety of offerings and you will not be disappointed."

"Great service at the bar! My brother recommended this place from his time here in the Mid-90's. The gumbo is fire and so is the crawfish etoufee covered catfish! Tom and Patrick will take good care of you!"
"I've lived near this institution for decades and finally went tonight with family for the first time. It was quite a flashback to bygone era from the decor and menu. The interior is dark-paneled from the 1970-80s. My chair had holes from wear in the arms. Service was very nice and attentive. The menu is extensive and full of interesting items. All meals come with bread, soup, salad and a starch or today's vegetable. I got the prime rib (house cut which is the smaller size was huge). Plentiful is the rule at the Clawson Steak House. The prime rib was very tasty. The lamb chops, salmon and ravioli were good as well according to my family. The French onion soup was very average. The key lime pie, made onsite, was lacking in taste and clearly in a poor store bought crust. We had a nice meal, the service was great."
"September 30, 2023Review #443 There are sooo many different types of restaurants in Downtown Rochester from coffee cafe and sandwiches, Knapp's burger joint, Chinese, Mexican, Italian plus Steak and Seafood.Kruse and Muer is a local chain serving up American dishes and specializing in Italian, Steaks, Seafood and Charley's Chowder!I enjoyed a relaxed, dining experience here at Kruse and Muer for My SpecialK Birthday on Sunday, 9/17/2023. The restaurant Ambiance along with comfortable seating and soft music set the celebration. The efficient service from waiter Cameron was on point with special attention to Me and My family while dining for a couple of hours. The cocktails, Complimentary soft warm seasoned baguette bread paired well with our delicious house salads and Charley's Chowder. My main entree Maryland Crab Cakes were very tasty and broiled to perfection with Red Rice Pilaf and Green Beans My favorite! :-) Photos attached as well! Everyone in My family party enjoyed their dinners too from Charley's Chowder, Seafood Lobster Fettuccine, Seafood Panroast # and Grilled Chicken Fettuccine. All were cooked and plated with tasteful flavors and plentiful too! What a sweet surprise for dessert was a Birthday Hot Fudge Sundae and candle. Family sang to Me! :-) History: Chuck Muer owns many famous Charlie's Crab restaurants. Bill Kruse and Chuck became friends back to 1972. "Totally recommend this restaurant for date night or even with kids too. I went with husband and son. My son was entertained with drawing on the brown paper cover that they put on the table. Classy enough, the restaurant only supplies black crayons. I thought it was so classy to keep the aesthetic of high end dining. We ordered beers and wine. The waiter was very knowledgeable of all menu items. We ordered the escargot. I found it refreshing that the bread basket had a variety of different style breads and they also serve you a medley of veggies in a vin-egret style dipping for the bread. We also tried the lobster bisque soup and the chowder. Both great choices. The main courses were delicious. We went for the steak and the shrimp risotto. We shared the main dishes and still had to take some home. So it's a good amount. There's a near by parking garage. Which is very convenient."
"Seriously amazing. Wasn't expecting a lot in a smaller town, and was sooo wrong! We came today after a local comp at 3 fire elementary, and will try and make it back again. Nicer dining atmosphere without going all the way to fine dining. Husband got the steak special, loved it. I got the fish special, love it. My daughter got a side of the Brussels and stole a bit of my husband's steak, and absolutely loved it (especially the Brussels). Now my picky son got the Alfredo pasta.... But ordered the enchiladas soup as a side (I think), and didn't love the smell? Strange child. He just pushed it away, and another lady noticed and inquired. THEY BROUGHT HIM ANOTHER SIDE OF HIS CHOOSING?!?! The lady didn't make him feel weird about it, nor seemed annoyed. She gets extra extra points for this! He loved his pasta as well. Drinks were kept full, and coffee warmed. Then at the end... my daughter finally made it obvious why she only got a side dish. She had her eye on a dessert, the pot de creme. This child (young adult) is VERY picky about this particular dish. She LOVED IT! Thanks for a great surprise meal! We maybe 90 min away, but will likely take side trips to visit!"
"Nice food and service, came here for my birthday with my fiancé. Gus and the general manager made sure we were well taken care of. It was nice and dim inside. The food was a bit hotter than normal, I burned my gums on the fingerling potatoes so be careful. The steak was also over salted but that's fine. Overall great evening. Would definitely come again!"
"We recently had our office holiday party at Weber's Restaurant, and it was a delightful experience. The restaurant features a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it a versatile venue for everything from casual dining to special events. Their attention to detail, quality of food, and exceptional service make Weber's a favorite for locals and visitors alike. The lunch at the Ballroom was well-organized, with a great variety of dishes. The food was delicious, especially the desserts, which were a standout. The place was clean, the service was excellent, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Parking was convenient, adding to the overall hassle-free experience. A perfect spot for gatherings with good food and a welcoming ambiance!"
"Can't go wrong with stopping here for lunch or dinner! Have frequented here with both family and friends for years, and have always had a great experience. If there's one thing to know, it's that they're usually pretty busy in the evenings, and throughout the day on the weekends. Highlyyyy recommend calling in for a reservation either while you're shopping or just in advance as the wait can sometimes be long. That being said, the service is always superb, the staff are always very nice! Food is always great, the fish is always amazing, otherwise I love their caesar salad as well! Portion sizes are usually big, but the sides are amazing as well! The french fries are a great option for the table. This is something small, but the staff are VERY knowledgeable about the menu which is so nice because with people having different things they can and can't eat, it just makes it super easy!! Also their carrot cake is to DIEEEEE for!"
"We have lived in Brighton for 1.5 years. Ciao Amici's quickly became one of our favorites. Great food, great ambiance, and great service every time. Last night we had dinner there for the last time as we are moving across state. During our conversation with our server we mentioned this. Shortly thereafter the owner stopped by our table having heard we were moving away. Real class. Later our server said the owner was buying us desert. This is the classiest restaurant in the area and we can't recommend it enough!"
"Went here for our company Christmas lunch. Really enjoyed myself. The food was good and the teppanyaki chef was very entertaining. I started with the edamame, very fresh. I had a house salad very good lettuce was crisp and dressing was good. My course was shrimp and steak. Both prepared properly. The rice was good. The vegetables were very fresh. I really liked the ginger sauce. The chef was flipping food for me to catch it was fun. All in all a very good time."

I will start by saying I don't typically go to many fancy steakhouses so take this review with a grain of salt. I came here solely because my little brother wanted to go to a "fancy" steakhouse and not a chain like Texas Roadhouse. My fiancé and I ordered the beef Wellington and the salmon. We split half-and-half and they were nice enough to split it for us! My brother and his girlfriend got steaks, I believe he got the Wagyu and she got the filet. We also ordered 3 sides to share - brussels sprouts, potatoes au gratin, and mac & cheese. I will say all the food was delicious and the service was immaculate. I can understand why people would go to a fancy steakhouse! Would I come back? Maybe. I would come back for another special occasion, but this is not a restaurant that I would go to just to have because I was hungry. Everything was honestly amazing, but the bill for 4 people was over $500. But also keep in mind, my brother's Wagyu was $100 just for the steak so it's possible this could've been a little cheaper. Personally, I don't think it's worth it, but for another special occasion, I would come back, I have no complaints!

This is a classic sushi and hibachi spot that I've been going to for years. They are typically a safe option for walk in and have a fantastic sushi menu. The service is really attentive and the food comes fast. If I'm ever in the Royal Oak area, this is definitely a go to spot for me if I'm craving sushi!

Old school steakhouse vibes. Split the prime rib extra cut with my husband for our anniversary and had lots of leftovers! Loved the house made blue cheese dressing on our salads too!

Crowded spot on an early Sunday evening (6:30), probably because of the holiday light show bringing people to town. We were seated within about 10 minutes of our reservation. The waiter was attentive and fast to get to our table. We didn't touch the free loaf of bread, but it smelled good. My 9oz pour of white wine was nearly to the rim of the glass. They should have larger stemware. Our entrees came out quickly (almost too quickly) after we ordered. The specials were good, but not outstanding. Flavors on a salmon diablo should probably be sharper. The textures on the dish also were missing some crispiness.

11 years since my first review of the Rochester Chop house and I can say that it continues to be a 5 star dining experience. I have never had a bad meal here, the food is consistently excellent. My favorite entree is the filet lobster Oscar because you doesn't want some lobster with their steak? If you are not a member of their Kruse rewards club, it is definitely worth it. You get a discount each time you dine at any of their restaurants and a free birthday meal. It pays for itself especially if you come to the chophouse for your birthday meal!

It's good. Not great. Absolutely fantastic server. I don't think I'd hike out to Howell for it again but I had a nice experience.Basic salads but delicious dressings. Id opt for Caesar nect time, they looked better. The freebie rolls were very nice with the sweet honey butter. I had lobster risotto which was really tasty. Creamy and the rice was perfect. Just enough toppings to make it texturally interesting but not take it over. My husband liked their shrimp pasta creation but thought the crab cakes on it had way too much breading and found the asparagus woody and stringy. He was disappointed. The carrot cake was perfection. Warm and nutty with a generous amount of frosting. It was tasty without being overly sweet. Gooey and satisfying.

"Best hibachi in town. Garlic noodles, fried rice and your choice of protein. Don't know if they use margarine or butter, but it's a favorite. If going in for dinner, put in a reservation. The entrance has a Japanese motif that's pretty relaxing."
"I was out on a business trip and I needed to find dinner near my hotel. The guy at our hotel recommended Redwood for the steaks and a house made root beer. I walked in and the hostess asked if I wanted to sit at the bar since I was by myself. So, I took a seat at the bear and was greeted right away.I did learn that the brewmaster was no longer making the root beer, but they did have a nice drink selection. I ordered a 10 oz sirloin steak that came with mashed potatoes and a house saladThe salad came out and it looked pretty nice. It had greens, onions, cranberries, walnuts and bleu cheese. I could have done without the bleu cheese, but it was no biggie. My steak arrived and looked really nice with a demiglace and some veggies on top of it. It was cooked pretty perfectly medium rare. The restaurant itself had a kind of rustic vibe to it. It was also a brewery of sorts and had quite a lot of seating. Our waitress even offered us a discount for staying at our hotel, which was awesome. Overall, the food was good for the value and pretty tasty. I would definitely give it a shot if you are near the area."
"I came here with family members while visiting, and the fish tacos were highly recommended. I completely agree. They were absolutely huge and so tasty. I can't believe they are on the appetizer menu. I can throw down a lot of food, but I was absolutely stuffed after 1 taco and 1 piece of the amazing bread they serve. I ended up eating the other one for dinner. The only bad thing was I didn't take a picture of them. I would look in the menu photos and prepare to be shocked. The staff was friendly and attentive and the service was great. The restaurant was good for lunch and dinner and had comfortable seating. Their specialty is steak, but I can't help thinking about those amazing fish tacos."
"Great service, quality Korean barbecue at a great price. Highly recommended! Our party of five was seated quickly and received top notch service. The pork belly and house made kimchi were our favorites."
"Service was amazing. We were a big group, loud (lots of older folks with hearing problems who love to talk so... lots of shouting), on weekday lunch, and the servers dealt with us so graciously and helpfully. The menu is disappointing. Usually even a grill has one token vegetarian item. This place had nothing and when I ordered the mozzarella tomato bacon chicken on ciabatta sandwich special asking them to hold the meat, what came out was pathetic. Maybe 1/2 ounce of sliced mozzarella melted on a puny slice of tomato. It felt like the chef was spitting on a customer for wanting to eat something other than meat. Except some of the other meals were disappointing according to the other eaters, so must just be a mediocre chef.Very disappointing, won't be back."
"Awesome customer service. Restaurant gives cool chill date night vibes. The food was a 3/5. Drink 3.5/5. I'll give them another try."
"Outstanding restaurant all around! An 'old school' Italian restaurant feel that is anything from casual to swanky with knowledgeable waitstaff and phenomenal food! This is where I go for the best steak! All Piedmontese - and the filet is flavorful. And they have always been perfectly cooked. I brought 4 new friends with me a couple weeks ago and the bf. Six out of six positive reviews for everything we ordered! And also some live lounge music, at least on the weekends. I drive all the way from Royal Oak to this place!!"
"We were a party of three, we had the 14oz. New York, the 8oz. Filet and the twin lobster tails and a great bottle of wine. The Food was totally amazing. The service was beyond excellent thanks to Daniel. I must also add what a beautiful bar every selection of bourbon you could ever ask for totally amazing."
"Oak City Grill is easily one of my favorite spots in Royal Oak. It offers a little bit of everything for whatever you are looking for without being generic. For me, live music every night is a huge draw. I love the new and seasoned people they bring in to play - there is always a new favorite to discover. The food is amazing, I LOVE their lamb chops, the steak bites, crab cakes and the naan pizzas. Their chicken tenders are so so good, and that is not typically a go-to for me elsewhere. They also have vegetarian and vegan options that I just have to guess are delish! It's also a great spot for special events. I had a bridal shower at OCG and the bride and family still talk about how perfect it was (food, location, atmosphere, service). That makes me feel so good that it left such a long-lasting memory for them. I have hosted and attended birthday gathering as well and as earlier touched on, has a little something on the menu for all tastes and price points. It is also very close to Drag Queen Bingo, so it's a great meeting spot for dinner before the show or drinks after, they are great with groups! With all this place has to offer as a restaurant and live music venue, it is also a great place to just grab a drink. The options are vast and moderately priced. Be sure to try the blood orange Cosmo - so yummy! Later in the evening, it is a mainstay in the RO bar scene, so as I've said, there is something for everyone!I have also been impressed with their sense of community service and they are regular contributors to local charities and events. My biggest issue with anywhere in Royal Oak is what a PITA parking is. The parking structure 1 block to the west is a great answer to this issue (or lucky for me, it's a quick and cheap Uber ride away!).So whether you are looking for a delish dinner (even kid-friendly), a meeting spot for friends, a date night destination or somewhere to listen to live music, Oak City has you covered."
"The photo speaks volumes as it to pertains to the owner of said establishment. Who would want to spend $ in his pockets w/a smart ass comment as such, not me. Service is slow, staff has no etiquettes, perhaps the owner can invest in some courses for not only themself but for employees, he has the spot to do it and it would be good for the generation that works there, so sad how slow they move. I grew up in a world if you're just standing there doing absolutely nothing maybe grab some paper towel and do some cleaning, perhaps the splotchy bathroom mirrors because that place sure could use some dusting. Sadly the south end of SCS has gone South, originally an east side no longer and so glad I'm not. This place is a dump !!"
"So sad that they are seemingly stuck in the renovation from Hell itself. I have loved this east side joint for years. Great food, great service. The decor isnt the attraction here, it's the food and the people. Shout out to the T-bone special and the baked potatoes. I love this place and hope it comes back thriving. The community is without you!!"
"All aboard ! Seriously cute trendy but casual steakhouse with flair. Lots of dishes from salads to burgers to steak and seafood all without the high steakhouse prices. Fresh made salads (no bag salad here) and serious flavor bomb food. We had lobster ravioli and Florentine penne Alfredo with chicken. High marks for fast and attentive service, piping hot food and generous portions. Outdoor seating available. Don't be afraid to travel to this downtown Wixom restaurant ! We live and hour and a half away but are making plans to return !"
"Amazing food. Awesome service. A great place for family dining or just a quick lunch. Many varieties to choose from. You can eat here with way better food than fast food or even chain restaurants"
"I love the old school look of this place. On a wintery Tuesday night, there was a big birthday party going on and the restaurant was about half full. Service was perfectly fine. I was happy with my avocado roll and vegetarian roll, but the chicken udon noodle soup wasn't very good. The chicken was grilled sawdust dry and the broth had a thin, metallic taste."
"The historic look could worry you upon walking in but let me tell you. It's worth every penny to sit and eat.The food was great, so I was pleasantly surprised."
"This spot is top notch. Quality. I will always dine when in town. Security is also 10. I'll always be your 4. Class act in action. Lighting and seating is cozy. Of course it's par for the course of excellence in dining. I trust and eat what I am served. Graciously so. 5 stars. Not to be misunderstood. D. All of thee above. Professional and grateful for every greeting."
"I've been staying at my mom's in Canton for a few days as we deal with some family stuff and, too pooped to make any food, we decided to order delivery from Shakers. I hate to admit I didn't have high expectations, but it was actually pretty darn good! During times of stress I totally regress to basically only wanting to eat kid foods so I got the chicken tenders platter and it came with a generous two sides. I ordered the fries and what I THOUGHT was the baked potato soup but was actually a straight up baked potato (totally my bad but a blessing in disguise because that baked potato was stacked! It was huge and smothered with cheese and bacon. I saved it for lunch the next day and it reheated really well). The fries had a nice seasoning on them and the chicken fingers were very juicy, crispy on the outside, and were a HUGE portion to boot. My mom was in more of a salad mood and got the Michigan spring salad and she said it was excellent. The grilled chicken that came with it was packaged separately so it didn't make the salad soggy, which I thought was a smart move. It was also a generous portion of chicken which was nice to see. We both said we'd definitely order from them again. Next time I'll definitely try the soup!"
"In short:Service: 0/5Atmosphere: 0/5Food: 2.5/5The long of it:So first, it's a bit darker then other steakhouses. No real entertainment going for those waiting for food or to be seated. Couldn't even bother to turn a TV on. The bar area was not staffed: that waiter was pulling double duty. I knew right there it was gonna be a long night...Didn't expect THIS though! Arrived around 6 fire the reservation (birthday party is 12). Not everyone was there yet so we waited, forced to make dry, unlubricated conversation which I am not a fan of.Got enough of our party to be seated at 6:45ish and courted to a table near the back. Hey there's a stack of insulation in the corner, just cause I guess. Waited for our waiter, who did not seem up to the task for general service. Took way too long to get basic drinks to the table (sake, margaritas..I mean). After constant back and forth by the wait staff, who in all seriousness was severely understaffed for a WEDNESDAY, my cousin got up to help! Grabbing drinks, making sure orders were correct. She should've got the tip money TBH.Soup and salad came right before service at 9:20! Mind you, the place closes at 10. The chef was nice enough but was very confused by how the order was taken, and way too energetic with people waiting 3 hours to eat. There was a whole broccoli incident, food flying everywhere and right in one party's eye when they weren't looking.Food on the whole wasn't the best. The fried rice was probably the highlight. The chef put teriyaki sauce on lobster, which NO ONE wanted, and brought all of us right back into the abyss. In the end, 15% was taken off of everyone's bills, but that wasn't nearly enough for what all happened In seriousness, yes for service industry is getting hit hard with rising costs and shrinking staff. I still can't excuse what happened. You adjust and adapt to changes, but it felt here like they had just given up. It may get better, but I'll never find out."
"Amazing dinner at Prism last night! Service was superb! Shout out to our beautiful waitress, Lisa. She was on it! Lisa made sure our drinks from the busy bar were perfect and just overall very attentive. She was great and can't say enough about her skills! The food tho..... AMAZING . Order the lamb chops you will not regret it ! They are some of the best I've ever had! Sides were excellent as well ... mashed potatoes were creamy and buttery. Asparagus was great. We got the steak tips app, it was really good . Hubby and friends got filet mignons... they were excellent . Everyone agreed. Bread was a sourdough with olives in it, interesting but good still. It's my new favorite spot for sure! Desserts were not pictured because they were so good that they were gone before i could snap a pic. Brownie with ice cream to die for and the cheesecake . So good! I'll be back soon !"
"Came for our anniversary - Paul was an outstanding waiter - The steak Sammy was delicious and tender. Chicken parm was good as well the coconut cream pie."
"Best hibachi in the area! Don't skip over this hidden gem. We go here for every birthday with our kids and we will continue to do so! The staff is incredibly sweet and accommodating and the food is DELICIOUS. The portions are huge. We always walk out with at least two full boxes of leftovers. Our chef was hilarious and kind. He did some magic tricks that blew my kids minds! We love coming here. We will be back in October for my son's birthday for sure!! Thanks for an amazing experience, Sapporo!!"
"The TLDR: The "Jive Turkey Reuben" is one of the most delicious and satisfying sandwiches you will ever find. I'm not joking, I really do mean that. Now, Oakwood Bar and Grill is a casual spot populated mostly by locals and Ford workers with some visitors sprinkled in since it's only a 5 minute drive from The Henry Ford and Greenfield Village. It's on my rotation whenever I'm in the area because of the impressive food menu that offers a little bit of everything: Burgers, sandwiches, wings, pizza, steaks and seafood. It's all a good value because of the generous portion sizes.Their beer list is pretty impressive and of course they have plenty of Michigan brews available. Their bartenders can make most any drink you might want with the awesome liquor selection they carry. I'm sold on this place and if I lived in the area, I'd be a regular.A solid 4.5 stars. My top 5 recommendations:** Cracklin' Calamari - Crispy, crunchy and flavorful.** Jumbo Lump Maryland Crab Cakes - Succulent sweet crab patties sauteed to perfection.** Sweet Teriyaki Glaze Salmon - Fresh tasting Atlantic Salmon drizzled in a sweet teriyaki sauce.** Jive Turkey Reuben - This is a half pound of turkey on fresh marbled rye bread with a delicious cole slaw. Get yourself some onion rings with it.** Fish and Chips - These would make most any up standing Irishman (or damned-ass Brit) proud.X The only thing that didn't impress me was their Impossible burger. I mean, it was good as far as Impossible burgers are concerned but I'd rather have ~3 BK Impossible Whoppers for the price of their one.** Also, they get very busy, very fast so get there early or head over in the late afternoon or early evening for better service."
"Great food. I had brunch. Risotto was amazing. Waffles and chicken. Perfect! Service was great also. 90 min from reservation time and we strolled the garden and the church. Beautiful stain glass. Ceiling and chandeliers. Bell tower rang at noon. Wonderful 90 min experience on Sunday."
