"I was out on a business trip and I needed to find dinner near my hotel. The guy at our hotel recommended Redwood for the steaks and a house made root beer. I walked in and the hostess asked if I wanted to sit at the bar since I was by myself. So, I took a seat at the bear and was greeted right away.I did learn that the brewmaster was no longer making the root beer, but they did have a nice drink selection. I ordered a 10 oz sirloin steak that came with mashed potatoes and a house saladThe salad came out and it looked pretty nice. It had greens, onions, cranberries, walnuts and bleu cheese. I could have done without the bleu cheese, but it was no biggie.My steak arrived and looked really nice with a demiglace and some veggies on top of it. It was cooked pretty perfectly medium rare. The restaurant itself had a kind of rustic vibe to it. It was also a brewery of sorts and had quite a lot of seating. Our waitress even offered us a discount for staying at our hotel, which was awesome. Overall, the food was good for the value and pretty tasty. I would definitely give it a shot if you are near the area."

"I'll start with this - Ava was an amazing server, and Feast would have only received 2 Stars were it not for Ava. I brought my aunt for brunch (see photos), and right off the bat I was surprised by the horrendous condition of our booth seats, which were NOT in good repair (see photo). Continuing, there were no rolls/bread or breadsticks served with anything. To be fair, we didn't ask for any, so maybe they have bread and/or breadsticks but you have to ask for them? Ava, our server, greeted us at the door with the most amazingly beautiful and kind smile ever. My aunt immediately fell in love with her, which made my appreciation for Ava grow. Ava continued to answer questions, talked with us (without talking for too long), laughed and truly made the experience much better than it would have without her as our server. Because while the ambiance (IMO) is very nice, the food was not. The Seafood Tower for 2 LOOKED amazing, but the Lobster and King Crab Legs were boiled in water with way too much salt and lemon. The oysters were not perfectly cleaned (I understand it's difficult, however) and the mussels were incredibly tiny (I PROMISE I'm not a size queen, but...). The scallop marinated salad wasn't very good at all either. The only things I enjoyed was the boiled shrimp (hard to F up) and the sweet potato garnishment (yup, the garnish tasted better than the seafood). Because my aunt rarely gets out and was so very happy with the food and Ava, I didn't mention how poorly executed I thought the food was. Beyond Ava's innate ability to make my aunt smile, there WERE two good dishes. The Calamari was amazing and the sweet sauce SLAPS! Also, the Caprese salad was delicious, pairing nicely with the dressing and arugula.I doubt that I would give this restaurant another try due to the high prices, which WOULD BE worth it if the food was prepared better, but to not knock it out of the park and to pay premium prices? Sorry, no. I hope this place values Ava's role, because without her even knowing she turned a potential horrendous experience into a pretty good one, by caring about her guests, being present and showcasing a level of affability that most servers fail to ever achieve. "Oak City Grill is easily one of my favorite spots in Royal Oak. It offers a little bit of everything for whatever you are looking for without being generic. For me, live music every night is a huge draw. I love the new and seasoned people they bring in to play - there is always a new favorite to discover.The food is amazing, I LOVE their lamb chops, the steak bites, crab cakes and the naan pizzas. Their chicken tenders are so so good, and that is not typically a go-to for me elsewhere. They also have vegetarian and vegan options that I just have to guess are delish!It's also a great spot for special events. I had a bridal shower at OCG and the bride and family still talk about how perfect it was (food, location, atmosphere, service). That makes me feel so good that it left such a long-lasting memory for them. I have hosted and attended birthday gathering as well and as earlier touched on, has a little something on the menu for all tastes and price points. It is also very close to Drag Queen Bingo, so it's a great meeting spot for dinner before the show or drinks after, they are great with groups! With all this place has to offer as a restaurant and live music venue, it is also a great place to just grab a drink. The options are vast and moderately priced. Be sure to try the blood orange Cosmo - so yummy! Later in the evening, it is a mainstay in the RO bar scene, so as I've said, there is something for everyone!I have also been impressed with their sense of community service and they are regular contributors to local charities and events.My biggest issue with anywhere in Royal Oak is what a PITA parking is. The parking structure 1 block to the west is a great answer to this issue (or lucky for me, it's a quick and cheap Uber ride away!).So whether you are looking for a delish dinner (even kid-friendly), a meeting spot for friends, a date night destination or somewhere to listen to live music, Oak City has you covered."

After reviewing the takeout menu I asked about the antipasto salad because they charge $19.00 for this. Did they have a smaller size (individual) possibly? The hostess indicated they didn't but that I could save any remaining salad to eat another time... I went with a large (10 pieces) Margherita pizza ( $20) and a garden salad ($10).The small pizza (6) pieces was $17 so I went with the large. I was told the wait would be 30-35 minutes. My order came to $33 for the pizza and salad. The thin crust (Margherita) pizza was very good. Fresh tomato sauce with basil and mozzarella cheese toppings. Delicious!The garden salad with fresh cherry tomatoes, garbanzo beans, red onion,cucumber along with the house vinaigrette dressing hit the spot. Definitely looking forward to sample many of the fresh pasta dishes in the near future."

The recipes themselves were just not good flavor combinations and they made them strong, so yeah.Food was good. Between my sushi and my husband's, everything was good. Not 5 star amazing, but goid.We had a great server. Worked efficiently and professionally.My one main complaint about this place is the bathroom. The toilet barely works. Used toilet paper has to go into the trash can otherwise the toilet backups. Outdated to the point that it just always looks unkempt.Pretty good place to eat!"

We also were able to use some MGM rewards to get 25$ off each of our meals (SCORE). I got the Free Range Chicken Tagliatelle and the Bread and Butters ( Cornbread in a cast iron skillet). My chicken pasta meal was perfection, the pasta was not over or under cooked and the white sauce had a great taster without being too salty. The highlight was definitely the cornbread. It was sweet cornbread, think Jiffy but super elevated in taste and texture. I also tried my friends steak and it was prepared well and I would recommend it to a steak person.The ambiance is great for a date night but I wouldn't suggest it for a first date unless you have money to blow. The service was good but I didn't like that the server didn't definitively answer any of my questions. He was however attentive. All in all I would return to this steakhouse again because it really checks all the boxes.Tip: Make a reservation. The casino can get busy. Also play my Vegas and rack up MGM rewards so you can get $25 off your bill."

"This little gem on East Warren near Cadieux did not disappoint. In fact, it exceeded my expectations. Love the art deco/jazz vibe - it's cozy, comfortable, and laid back. Service was excellent, our server Will was engaging, funny, and very helpful. I started with a delicious dirty martini, and a shared appetizer of calamari. The calamari was very good, but feel that the portion size could have been a little bigger. I chose the lobster/seafood pot pie as my entree, and I'm still thinking about how amazing it was. It was literally one of the best things I've ever had, no exaggeration. Flaky crust, served in a hot cast iron skillet, filled with seafood and a Cajun cream sauce with just the right amount of heat - it was comfort food on a whole other level. Dinner is served with fresh bread and butter, and we were able to get a refill on it, which was nice. I was sad that they were out of chocolate cheesecake, but I enjoyed the caramel sundae I opted for instead. They also had a decent band playing at a volume that I could still have a conversation with my dining companion, which I enjoyed and appreciated. When the bill arrives, know that a 20% gratuity is automatically added to the total. I was ok with that because that's what I would have tipped anyway with the good service we received. All in all, it was a lovely evening and I'll definitely return."

They have interesting menu items like bbq eel and octopus and both are not bad at all. Not sure I would order again but definitely different.They have a few locations and are never that busy but always has consistent food quality and taste. They give you super yummy sauces. Yum yum sauce and ginger sauce that is delicious.We definitely will be back and will eventually try everything on the menu."
