"I've been to the Fox many times before but this trip was especially special! My grandson loves Grinchy, as he calls him, so I took him to see the Grinch musical. He loved all of it. I'll never forget his smiles watching the show."
"Just come here to hang back and chill with your friends. No pressure. The bar tender Ingrid was amazing and the food followed suit. I was more so impressed with the patrons. A lot of cool people who just want to chill out and have fun. Come see for yourself."
"This extension of Casey's is awesome! I went when they had their Christmas themed drinks and it was super tasty and the servers were nice and quick. We went on a karaoke night and it was fun and cozy environment. I'm excited to go in the summer when there are bands performing outside of McMorran!"
"New owner now Called the High Dive. Lenord is the new owner. I love the Asian inspired cocktail options. The ambiance is a lot different than the prior bar in this location I hear. But to me now the vibe is hipster, chill, relaxing. Kind! Community oriented. Make sure to check out the involvement later in the year they might even start a photography group! Check it out. This one received reconciliation in my book and made it to the 5 star mark!"
"Great bar for a live show, came on HMF weekend and the place was humming, crowed but still some room to move around. I watched most of the show from the balcony, this is a great spot for a bird eyes view of all that's going on in the New Dodge. Both bands sounded pretty good and the light show was also pretty good. Bonus for cheep beer and bartenders that were hustling to get drinks out. All in all it was a great night out and New Dodge was a good place to catch the HMF."
"I have only been here once with my college friend that lives in Fdale, he likes sitting or standing out on their patio and people watching on Woodward. If it's warm outside and there's room out on the patio and not too much smoke, it's not too bad hanging out here. It's a bit north from the core of downtown ferndale. It's a very casual and laid back bar. Old school looking inside as well. They do have some decent draft beers, ping pong tables, darts as well."
"Food: 2.5 out of 5Atmosphere inside: 5/5Atmosphere outside: 4/5I love the different vibes you can get from each different area of Tin Roof. The food attempts to be upscale bar food, but out of the three times we tried their chicken tenders, the first time they were out of this world good and then we just kept chasing that quality and never found it again. The inside first level is a great little venue to take in some live music. The upper level balcony is a great place to take in sights of Downtown. The outdoor area can get a bit crowded and a bit wild, especially on big days like Opening Day or any Lions home game. Also, I am not a fan of them charging cover to enter the outdoor area."
"I love Aretha's Jazz Cafe. It's an intimate space within the Music Hall. They host on Tuesdays Singers in the Round. I'm a Singers in the Round fan. Started by local artists Matt Kysia and Yorg to uplift local Detroit artists. I've never been disappointed. We have great local talent. And bonus: their fries are yum."
"Beautiful venue! I've seen music concerts and comedy shows here. Well organized. Security moves quickly. Purses allowed if they are 4x6 or smaller. Credit card sales inside only."
"Great dive-ish bar and venue. Had been a minute since I'd been in, but came for the Mihali show. Staff was excellent. From door guy, to bartenders, to kitchen team running food in a packed space. Great vibes, even when packed. Food menu looked really fun and inspired. It's got a lot of charm and character. Would post up for a happy hour, catch another show, or grab a lunch.Support your local bars and music venues!Manager eas Great too. He didn't have to take care of us the way he did, but super grateful he did as it made our night phenomenal."
"Looks CLOSED, yet I see concert listings in sept/oct; mostly old metal bands, good area/venue for that.. Don't be stupid and aimlessly wander around this East end of Detroit. For out of towners this section of Detroit is an eye opener, plus depressing. The abandoned homes, businesses, prostitutes in the pouring rain, sad how this area sits today, bleak. Harpos has a beautiful sign, like a mirage in the distance amongst all the destruction."
"Finally made it to this cool place. I have followed them for some time and can only imagine how great they were pre-pandemic. Perfect spot for live music, good drinks, and killer vegan hot dogs. We went on a cold Sunday night for good and drinks. The place was a ghost town, but I was grateful for the space. We walked up to the bar to order. They had a few Halloween themed drink specials and we ordered those (see my photos). Both were made well! The things I was most excited for were the vegan hot dogs and tots. They have a very creative menu. We ordered three different dogs (a teriyaki style, ramen, and regular coney) plus tots. I probably could have eaten 5. They are Beyond sausages I think. So good though. We grabbed a booth on the far wall and enjoyed our food and drinks. While I'd like to come back for live music in the future, it's kind of nice not to wait in line or fight for a spot at the bar."

Astounded every time I step into the Fox. It is simply a beautiful theatre and a nod to old world craftsmanship Only wish there were more events hosted there and really wish they bring back playing some movies here on occasion.

BEWARE: Shady billing here. $3 domestic beers were actually $5 each. $6 call drinks were $9. Half-off pizza was really 25% off after toppings added. Large upcharge for using credit cards too. Some food items were overpriced, like $13.95 for 4 chicken tenders??? For that price the chicken better give me a back massage. That said, good bar for music, decent crowds... Just prepare to be nickle-and-dimed to death with the final bill. Seems shady billing practices are permeating many service industries. Sign of the times I guess.

Cool atmosphere. Came on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy. Mix of shark decorations and old church benches, stained glass. Drinks are great, bartender is very nice- had good suggestions for what to drink and was very friendly. Would definitely come back!

Ahhh... The New Dodge... I have so many fond memories here, that I am sure I am more generous with my stars than most. Back in the early 2000s, this was where the ICU staff from the DMC hung out. We would get off work at 7 am and come here to laugh off our stress and in many times cry. There is nothing I can compare to the stress of being a new grad RN in such a high acuity ICU. Anyway, walking through the doors always brings back fond memories. We would sit at the bar and drink all morning with some of the auto workers. They would fire up the grill and we would ear a burger while jamming on the juke box. All while normal people were just getting to work, we were already getting drunk. HahaThis is how I was introduced to "Fat Tuesday" Hamtramck style. What a party!! I have been gone from that job since 2013, but I simply brought my tradition over to my BFF, and now has been our tradition for the past 7 years. We even have friends that we only see on this day! Everyone is Polish on Fat Tuesday! It's complete chaos that starts at 7 am and goes until you basically pass out. Cheap drinks. Shots all around. Homemade perogies. Just an all around fun time!! Expect to stand and stick to the floor the whole time. Be prepared for craziness. For those of you hearing that the owner is racist, I don't see it. I worked with nurses of all color, races, and Creed. Never once experienced the owner being racist. My BFF is not white. He's never been treated poorly either. Sounds like a smear campaign to me. The bar is enormous with a huge upstairs and with pool tables. Unfortunately, there aren't enough bathrooms for such a big place, but there are port o potties outside. No worries.

New Way, what's not to love. Ok if you enjoy a good dive bar, you'll love New Way. First off they seem to find the best bartenders, they're great. Good service, hard working and just make my beer drinking experience more enjoyable. They usually have a few interesting craft beers on tap that I enjoy, usually Kuhnhenn dripa. Also a pool table that's always hustling, they put up a ping pong table someone, have electronic darts, and a bunch of other games stuffed in the corner. As well as some live local bands, and my favorite part the patio with the big sun chairs on it. Love it, drink a beer watch the cars on Woodward chill inside, talk to the always interesting locals. To go to Ferndale New Way.

Latin night was awesome. It was a nice reminder why I love Detroit. I've been away from home for many years and this one visit had all settled in like I never left. The vibe was strong and welcoming. I miss Detroit. Club is small inside the music hall. I didn't try the food or order any drinks. I came just for the show and it did not disappoint. Parking was easy.

"We had reservations for a party of 6 and a blast was had by all. There is no food here but we did see a few tables bring in food off their own. The live music was entertaining and the establishment was clean and inviting. Our waitress was on point and was sure to keep our water glasses topped off with we were very thankful for. Drinks were delicious. We saw several parties enjoying the large punch bowl offerings which looked like a-lot of fun. Check the website for who is playing and when. We didn't know the band but we knew the genre. Order tickets ahead of the show to save a few dollars per ticket as prices vary."
"I came here for an event for the first time last night and it went okay. I have a few thoughts on the event space, and while most of it was good, I also know that Andiamo only has so much control over the situation. For starters, the event area is large, and when pulling in, they have two areas to pull your car into. One is self park for $5, and the other is valet for $10. I chose valet because it was super cold outside and didn't want to have to trudge through the parking lot in the weather. Plus, the lot already looked pretty full, and for a few more bucks, I could let someone else deal with the parking situation. Valet people were friendly, professional and efficient, both parking my car and grabbing my car. While I did have to wait for my car at the end, that's expected since there was a ton of people waiting. No problems there.Walking in, the lobby area is well decorated and looks good. Staff greeted me, and checked me with a wand for weapons. After I was cleared, I found the coat check which is technically free, but you have to leave a tip. I strongly suggest coat check if you have a heavy winter coat since seating in the showroom is extremely tight and compact. Do yourself the favor!Getting into the showroom is obvious and easy enough. the staff was super friendly here, and that's where a lot of my positive experiences occurred. Everyone was professional, friendly, helpful and I can't say enough good things about them here. No stuffiness, all were dressed appropriately, and most importantly, knowledgeable! Each interaction was extremely positive, which made the event so much more worthwhile. They had a fabulous set of ushers who showed me to my seating table after I checked in and I was wonderfully escorted to my table. Menu's were there, which I reviewed but didn't order anything. The food was a bit pricey in my opinion. My one thing is, it seems like their food is meant to be shared, so ordering a single plate of anything seems impossible. Want sliders? You get like a ton. More than one person could eat. I don't have a problem sharing food, but everyone wants something different. I wish they had smaller plates instead of huge portions. They have a cool bar area off to the side and it was fully staffed. Prices are reasonable and they have a great selection of wine and mixed drinks. I wanted a Moscato, but I became so entranced with the speaker and performance, I never did get around to ordering anything beyond water. (I have to stagger my alcohol, otherwise I would either fall asleep or want a second drink and then I would need food, blah blah blah.)I found out that each table has a server that circulates to take drink and food orders during the event. Unfortunately, the kitchen closes at 8:30 PM, so get your food in early?!?! I wasn't hungry but why do they do that. I guess if you want to have dinner at the table, you should get here early. Also, as a side note, my server did an amazing job of checking in on us, *but* the first half hour I was there, I NEVER SAW HER. It wasn't until the event almost started that she came by to check on our table. Ok, so here's where I get really super critical and have issues. The seating here's horrendous. It's long tables with padded chairs facing the stage area. The only "good" seating is the seating in the front area that I will refer to as "the pit." it's the only seating in the house where you can actually see the stage and the presenters without the assistance of the TV's that are severely misplaced throughout the even space. They had many TV's and a screen directly placed behind the stage, but everyone's head was sort of in the way, so you end up either looking to your left or right the entire event to see what's happening. It became uncomfortable after a while between the stackable chairs, cramped seating area and such to see what's happening. I feel like the screen over the stage is poorly placed and hung to low. Literally impossible to see a thing. I had decent seats, but still had to keep adjusting every time since the people in front of me kept adjusting. It's not their fault, it's poorly placed. Also, they kept turning on the house lights that were bright as hell during the event. It was like a spotlight in the face, even sitting back where I was. (I had decent seats, so I wasn't all the way back, but to far back that I shouldn't have gone blind from the lights.) They need to fix this. Also, it was a pain in the butt when everyone was leaving to get their car. There was a huge bottleneck at the front door and we all got jammed up. I almost got run over by a jackass who was running to get his car. He literally pushed me out of his way. Where's security then? People were getting rude and just rushing the door. No order here. Staff should have stepped up to keep the order and stop this from happening. They all seemed to have disappeared at this point. Please take care of that. There were some very rude guests here!"
"I love this cafe located in Capitol Park! It's very spacious inside, lots of seating options. There is a little performance stage in the back and I hear they have an open mic night. They also have an area to purchase swag and coffee related paraphernalia. Excellent service and I loved my matcha latte. My favorite part is that they have a sign that declares that everyone is welcome there. I look forward to returning."
"This is always the coolest spot in Macomb County. Doesn't matter what day of the week you come in, the staff takes care of you like no one else."
"Divey local bar with live shows.Nothing special. They do have a large patio out back that is used for smoking, but is also good just to get outside for a bit."
"The cocktails here are excellent and the music is good. It was the perfect place to drop in with the girls and have drinks. There is ample parking in the back and even on the street in front. I'll happily go back."
"Had the pleasure of returning to Meadow Brook for the first time in a few years over the weekend to catch Chris Isaak and Lyle Lovett. As we easily parked and strolled over to our seats in the pavillion I said to my husband and mom, "I think this is my favorite outdoor venue ever." And they agreed. It's just big enough to get great acts, just small enough that getting in isn't a huge production (why yes I have lost my car in the Pine Knob parking lot thankyouverymuch), parking was free, the sound was fantastic, and every seat in the pavillion rules. But if you want to go lawn you'll still have a really great view (although I honestly always go pavillion because when I go to a show I wanna SEE the band/artist). And the grounds are PRETTY. The trees, the the waterfall, all lovely. Still not a ton of food and beverage options but that's fine. I rarely eat at shows anyway because they charge so much. I will say, everyone in my entire party did get a soft pretzel here that night and we were all VERY pleased with them. Highly recommend."
"Nice little spot to go to for the girls night out events lol. The only thing I thought was weird about this place was that they make you pay for water. I also feel like this place looks much more like a bar than a club. I would go back if I felt like going to another girls night out event. I had a blast and the workers did a great job with the crowd."
"Super friendly place. Great waitstaff. Welcoming atmosphere. Very casual. Fantastic prices. It's pretty much a local bar first and a restaurant second. That's not to say the food is bad. It definitely isn't. The appetizers are clearly the shiny stars here, but we thought all the food was good. We started with the best of all the items, the jalapeño popper eggrolls. Creamy and rich inside, perfectly crispy shell and dipped into a zippy little pepper sauce. I could have smashed a second order. Yum.My husband wanted nachos. Chicken, of course. Huge portion. Tasty. His only complaint is for him they could have used more cheese. I had the cherry chicken salad on nine grain. I liked it. The side of better mades was good, the potato salad was just ok.We got to go for the oldsters. All apps. Super nicely packed up. They were beyond thrilled. Why? Because apps are the best things here. Seriously good. They had the jalapeno popper eggrolls, whitefish dip and pita, some spicy shrimp, and fried green tomatoes. They adored every single bite and raved about each thing. We will be back. For more appetizers, for sure."
"The Post is one of our go-to place here in Plymouth. On my last visit, I was in the mood for something healthy, and tried the Power Bowl. I was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful and filling it was. The grilled chicken was cooked perfectly and the honeyed carrots added richness. My husband tried the perch, which he loved.Other favorites from previous visits:Bistro BurgerChicken WingsChicken Tender BowlMac&Cheese"
"I really love this place! Everything I've had on the menu is good - most things are shareable too! Many of the appetizers come in a set of 3, but you can add on 1 or two more if need be for your group! The color red margaritas are incredible and spicy! I can't stop drinking thoseAnd they have happy hour thurs-sun with 40% off food, or they did! Don't quote me but check ! The wings, the sliders, the Brussels, seriously everything is good."
"How lucky we are to have such an incredible institution here in Detroit? So so lucky! Unfortunately during this time of shelter in place live performances have been postponed but you can enjoy past performances in the comfort of your own home with free access to their DSO Replay that you can find at dso.org/replay. I also highly recommend following them on social to enjoy porch concerts from DSO performers and other talented musicians that they share regularly. It's a balm to the soul during this difficult time. I look forward to taking in more performances and supporting their season once we reopen. We must keep these vital arts institutions afloat. It is the arts that we turn to in difficult times and we need them more now than ever."
"Tiny but a great venue for an intimate experience. My husband and I went last night to see Bettye LaVette and it was magical. We were right in the very front and the sound was amazing, the music was incredible, and we just had the best time. It reminded me a bit of the small jazz clubs in NYC that we love, like the Village Vanguard, Blue Note, etc. Small tables, a little uncomfortable, but you're right in the middle of the music. They have food but we didn't order anything besides drinks. I had the Flamenco coffee, a boozy warm bevvy perfect for a rainy night. My husband stuck the corona. Waitstaff were quick and unobtrusive given the fact they were ducking between tables during the show. Can't always speak to the quality of the performers on any given night, but if you're interested in a particular artist and you come prepared for no frills, you'll have a great time. Just come early to get a good table!"
"This is a very good live music venue. Very clean and inside. The bar area is good and the service was excellent. Good clean sound and loud. It's nice to be able to have a reserved seat. That allows a space to sit when not jamming to the music. Great place!!"
"Fun venue! Historical building. I saw a concert here and it was very well organized. Standing room only. I liked that you could move around and decide where you wanted to be. There were a certain number of VIP tickets that allowed for chairs upstairs in the balcony. The bathroom was small and long lines. Women need more than two stalls. Fast and efficient security. Friendly bartenders. Everyone very nice and good atmosphere. I took the Q Line from downtown and it dropped me off at the Canfield stop right by the venue. It was nice that I didn't have to deal with parking."
"This review is only in regards to a wedding there, although I've been here for a talk before too.One of my friends got married here last night and it was a great time - she was even able to sing a song on the stage. All of the food, waitservice, etc. was top notch as well. The location is pretty easy to find when you enter the lobby of MotorCity Casino, also. The other time I went here was a while ago, when JK Simmons was in town for a talk, and the venue was good for that as well.Overall I'd recommend this venue for weddings, too."
"This is an excellent bar and grill that my wife and I went to on a Saturday evening around 7 o'clock while we were visiting the area. We walk in it's definitely a dive bars got a pool tables TVs the sport games dartboards golden tea all the good stuff. We were immediately seated at a nice table conveniently located next to a TV which I enjoyed. The waitress was really nice and helpful her name was timber which I thought was cool and we ordered couple of beers and I got the double cheeseburger with fries which was excellent and my wife got the fish which was also excellent we had a great time a lot of fun a lot of laughs it's a great place"
"Very impressive renovation to the strand. Attended a political event and was surprised by the overall feel of the location. It's a smaller facility and a bit weird to get around inside but a jewel for Downtown Pontiac. Be great to see a concert there in the future."
"For a dive bar, this is good as it gets. Clean, renovated bathrooms.Great drink specials.Arcade games.Up to date bar and decor.Went here for the first time to see some live music. The sound here is great, you get just as loud in the back as you do at the front. The special that night that we were all going for was a PB&J for $9. A tall PBR and a shot of Jameson. Their cocktail menu looked fabulous but didn't partake in any because it was a school night. Would frequent here again."
"I've never been here - I came to support my friend who was DJ'n. The entrance is in the REAR which personally I would suggest it be in the front but I guess the front entrance is for theater. The staff at the bar was super helpful and even made some fresh coffee for me - omg try the PIZZA it's super good."
"Ensconced within an industrial forest in Hazel Park, is this pleasantly petite alternative performance venue. It's like an artist's living room exploded, but there's a stage in front.Sometimes they serve coffee in the back, but it's not coffee-shop coffee. I think they may even serve food (if there's an art opening). In any event, their BYOB policy assures instant satisfaction. Art, old sheet music, a piano harp and musical instruments line the walls. There's a coffee table made from an old piano keyboard too. This along with the thrifty-nature of the furnishings provides a slightly off-key, nourishing vibe for local musicians and bards. Every performance is live-streamed (via U-Stream) online, which is awesome. I can't think of any other Metro Detroit (or A2) venue that does this. That earns 'em the extra star. For your more untraditional, experimental and low-fi bands/performers, this place is a boon!"
"We had an absolute blast. Tonight was a teacher takeover of Royal Oak...Mr. D was back home and hosting a stand up show. If you're an educator, Mr. D brings laughter to our life! Great time?"
"I saw Simply There here this past Wednesday night. I usually go to Detroit or Ann Arbor for concerts (or the Palace ... RIP) and I had never been to The Crofoot before. Their concert was actually at The Pike Room at the Crofoot, which was on the second floor of the building.Parking was easy, there's a lot across the street that was $5. We got there around 7:15pm, the concert was at 8 and doors were at 7.The Pike Room is a very small and intimate venue. Only about 30-40 people in total attended, which I was shocked by (Simply Three has millions of YouTube views! One video of theirs has 23M views ...), but it was also a very pleasant experience because we got to sit in chairs the whole time. They have both chairs and bar tables/barstools upstairs, as well as a full bar.The only reason this venue gets 4 stars from me and not 5 is because it was FREEZING the whole time. I think this because people kept going in and out one of the exterior doors (located by the bathrooms), perhaps to smoke or something. I kept my jacket on the entire time and it never warmed up. Otherwise, pretty neat little venue, and I definitely enjoyed the concert."
