"I've only been here once. I need to come back. I love it. So many places in this area give me little reminders of "back in the day". First off, their brownies! I used to get brownies like theirs at a bakery in Madison Heights that was owned by a Polish woman and her son. They were my FAVORITE. I never thought I'd find brownies like those again and I did! I got one with peanut butter topping and yum!I also got a coffe cake which was really good! Crumbly and moist. What I liked is that they also had a deli. I hate getting deli meat at the grocery store because it takes forever. It was not too busy here. There was a staff working the deli and another working the bakery.I really had to stop myself from buying too much. This place is a gem and needs to be supported!"
"Goddammed God damn ...subs here are ridiculously delicious!!!This small convenience/liquor store pantry/pizza sub shop rocks and locals know it as evidenced by a constant stream of business and many employees on hand to help.Solid five."
"This place was a delightful surprise. I was in the market for some decent lamb, and a friend suggested this place. It was absolutely fabulous. The butcher brought out an entire leg and butchered it in front of me, cutting some into stew meat and leaving a big chunk for a roast. It was fantastic. The olive bar is quite nice, and the hummus is delicious. The place is also immaculate, which I appreciate. I can't wait to go back and explore some more!"
"Have you ever been to a wholesale butcher shop? I haven't and so I showed up in shorts, flip flops and a T-shirt. Mistake, it was like a Michigan winter inside that place. Plus they were other customers so I stood there nearly freezing to death. Eventually someone helped me and I stood out near the cashiers where it was summer again. The staff was wonderful and helpful. Prices were pretty decent for halal meat."

The service was friendly. I ordered the Suicide Killer Sub and asked them to add jalapeno. It is fresh and made to order. The sandwich was well-seasoned and tasted fine. It's a standard sandwich but $10 is a little high for a sub shop in the back of a party store. There is pizza and other hot food to go by the check-out counter.

My favorite butcher. Great selection of fresh meat and frozen ones as well. They have anything you need (veggies, sauces, spices) in one convenient place so you don't have to drive around everywhere to find whatever your recipes call for. I am also a huge fan of their made in house hot dogs. With such fast and friendly staff, you won't be disappointed.

Surprised I haven't been here before, but they have everything - chicken all ways (whole, tenders, wings, etc) a ton of beef products, as well as lamb (whole ones). I stuck to chicken and bought a jug of the tawook marinade - came out amazing at home. For the price, especially if you are buying quantity, go here.

So I stopped in to grab a tomato....isn't that the start of all great stories. Lol.A couple weeks ago I ran in to pick up a tomato for dinner prep and I was amazed. I figured this would be like the market that was in this same plaza before...no way. This place is nice. They have a great selection of prepared foods both ready to take home and cook already hot or cold. They also have a full line of prepared salads like pasta salad, potato salad, cole slaw, etc. They have a small produce section as well as a small bakery section. They have a full line of Boar's Head deli meat. They have a small grocery section for those odds and ends you might have forgotten. And they have a great selection of drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.That night I got my tomato which was a fresh tomato, but I also picked up one of their Italian bread sticks stuffed with sausage and peppers. It was awesome and it three for $5 its a great deal. I've tried their salads and pizza by now and I'm really impressed. For about the same price as a hot and ready from that other place you get a great large pizza that tastes fantastic.

I'd call it 3.5 stars, but rounding it up to 4 is OK, too. 3.5 is more accurate. After the stratospheric heights of Galindo's last week, a fellow Yelper messaged me telling me that the best al pastor was at El Angel in Lincoln Park. Long story short, he's dead wrong. The al pastor here is *fine*, but on its very best day, it *might* break into the Top 5 al pastor tacos in the area, by taking the #5 position. It's not *touching* Galindo's. Taqueria Alameda in Westland has *nothing* to worry about. Carnival Market rests easy. Others, too, can rest on their laurels. While this is better-than-decent, it ain't throwing anybody else out of the ring.Their asada, to be honest, was a trifle bit better than Galindo's, but that's not to say that I want it again...it was still pretty "meh". It's too bad that steak has to be reduced to giving up its beefy flavor. Still, I appreciated that they had spiced it appropriately, and it got eaten.Their pico de gallo passes muster, with probably a grade of C+/B-, but again: Galindo's blew it out of the water, here. It's quite inexpensive, so that's definitely a plus, but I'd rather pay more for better pico de gallo. The facility needs some help. It's...meager. Oh, and the restroom is out of order. And the beverages are pretty expensive for Jarritos. Look: it really isn't bad! It's fine! But would I come here again when Galindo's is just down the road? Or Campestre? No, unless maybe it's 10 Tacos for $10 day or something like that. They're worth that...but they're not worth the same amount of money as Galindo's fantastic stuff.

I am a very bad Yelper.I meant to update this review ages ago to say that they are processing EBT cards, yay!But I also wanted to let people know that if you have a particular product that they don't carry, they will order it for you. In my case, it was King Arthur bread flour. I frequently make French boules and seeded multi-grain and rye breads. King Arthur bread flour is the only flour that has the right amount of gluten and protein to give me the tooth and airiness I crave and the owner was so sweet as to order it for me. The folks here are basically the most helpful and friendly worker bees you could possibly imagine.Bonus, one of the guys can juggle. If you're lucky, you'll catch him in the act in the produce section.

"One of my quarantine pals lives near this market and I've stopped in a couple times to grab brews and liquor on my way over. Their liquor selection is fantastic. They have most everything you could possibly want. The craft beer and seltzer selection is also very impressive. And I'd be lying if I said I haven't perused their snack aisle a few times... they have a full selection of all the salty snacks your drunk or high self may desire. The store is clean, open, organized. Stop in if you need provisions in the area!"
"I ended up here because of Yelp, after reading their new and hot places email... it's bit out of my way, but glad I made the visit. I'll say this was the cheapest meal I've had!! I went and ordered the following:- 1 Pastor Taco- 1 Asada Taco- 1 order of Rice and Beans- 1 pico de gallo - 1 diet cokeThen I ended up ordering extra pastor and asada taco. The Best:- Asada Taco, Pastor Taco and Pico de gallo!! Taco's are simple, meat topped with chopped onions and cilantro with a wedge of lemon. The beef was perfectly cooked, juicy, yet bit salty, but salty is what brought the flavors together for the taco. Pork was excellent as well and the pico de gallo was fresh and it seemed like it was made to order. The gallo goes well with the chips they provide, I preferred the gallo over their other salsa's that were provided. The rice and beans were okay. As I said, this was the cheapest meal I had, 4 tacos, rice & beans and a drink for $10 before taxes. The service was excellent, plenty of parking in the back or on the street (free 1 hour parking). If you are in the area, I would highly recommend you stop by!!"
"In the former value world, Al haramain has been doing what it does best by supplying fresh produce and great international products in an even bigger format. I like shopping here, it's kept clean, and they have a huge Olive bar! I haven't tried the restaurant in the back yet but I've heard great things. Hamtramck is very fortunate to have a locally owned market this good."
"UPDATE: They reached out to me and made everything right. Even throwing in an extra pack of bacon and waiving fees. They can expect a lot more of our business from now on."
