"Walking to the Airbnb after a full day's work and followed Yelp here. Loving practicing for retirement! Starting with saganaki and roasted Brussels sprouts. We'll see if we want more. My eyes are always bigger than my stomachBrandi tells me the "seasonal veggies "'are FRESH and not cooked to mush. Excited to try them next time. Give Louie's a try!!"
"First visit to Experience ZUZU and it did not disappoint. Had an early evening out. We opted to try several mocktails, which tasted fantastic. We share quite a few items, crispy rice, gyoza, crispy tempura fries, and mains yaki udon with beef, and the jalapeno hamachi. There was plenty of food and we left with left overs. We will be back. There is an automatic gratuity added, which is not a big deal as it is more and more common these days, but could be a surprise to some."
"Very tasty! Classic pasta. But otherwise they are also known for their burgers and wraps. The waterfront view of the Detroit river was also so beautiful. I can't wait for it to get warmer and to sit in their outdoor seating. Service was alittle on the slower side, but we were a bigger party."
"Mead mead mead meeeeeead! This place is pretty awesome. There was a total nerd vibe going on! Being from Seattle originally, it has that going for it.All of the drinks we sampled were fantastic. I even liked one with coconut. I HATE COCONUT! My wife was surprised at how much I liked it.Cyser of the Lambs is my favorite. I could drink a gallon of that. Thanks so much for being a new destination each time we come to Michigan."
"This is always the coolest spot in Macomb County. Doesn't matter what day of the week you come in, the staff takes care of you like no one else."

TWe were down in the D for a company retreat and found this gem around the corner. We were at another local establishment experiencing poor service and hearing multiple menus items were out so we decided to check Yelp for another option. We found Louie's and were greeted with smiles! They seated us immediately upstairs where they had room for 7. Took our order right away! The food was quick and impeccable! I know we will be back when we come downtown next time!

Very cool ambiance and decor! I love the color scheme and lighting. Lovely outdoor patio to enjoy in the warmer months. Fun music and party vibes. Excellent service from Allie and great recommendations. The cocktails are delicious! I enjoyed the Japanese Whispers. Very crisp and refreshing. My friend really enjoyed the What We Do Is Secret cocktail. It looks really cool and bubbly and steamy. The appetizers were good, but not amazing and felt overpriced. We shared the Crispy Rice Spicy Tuna and the Walnut Shrimp as our appetizers. The Walnut Shrimp has tempura rock shrimp and for my personal preference, the tempura was a little too thick. I've definitely had better crispy rice spicy tuna, but this was still good. For our main course we shared the Truffle Scallop + Asian Pear specialty roll and that was excellent. We also shared the Blue Fin Toro Tuna roll and that was a lovely explosion of flavor. I loved the spicy caviar crema.I would gladly come back and try other things. They have noodle dishes and steaks that look fabulous.

Overall I'd give the Waterfront a thumbs up. The food was slightly above average, with large portions of service was very good, and you can't beat the location. It's right on the water, and they had a band playing when we visited.

We had a fundraiser for work here, and they were amazing to work with! Great drinks and great waitstaff. The owners are also very easy going and helpful. It's a must try if you like cider and mead.

A nice spot to go to for happy hour. The Lady and I went and met some friends my first night back in Detroit. The happy hour menu is a beast. $5.00 drinks, beers and food. And not just the typical bar H. H. food. We're talking LOADED fries, every flavor of chicken wing, seasoned shrimp and other items . The staff was wonderful and the decor very cool. We also enjoyed the live band that performed also.

Highly recommend CURLING at the Hub for a fun and unique group activity! We were a group of 9 and an hour rental I believe was around $30pp (pre tip!). We all arrived 15-30min before our reservation start time to sign waivers, get shoe/shoe cover rentals, and get a little head start on learning the ropes. We had an attendant the entire time, I think his name was Eric, who was just great. For almost everyone in our group, it was our first time curling. He started out by explaining and demonstrating how to throw the stone and we each practiced once to try to get a feel for it. At first it seemed a little harder than I was expecting (so slippery! the coordination!) but actually it seemed like over the course of the hour we all did... um, adequate lol. Then we split into two teams and managed to get in 3.5 games within our time slot. Eric was there the entire time giving tips to help us, which was much appreciated, otherwise I'm not sure we would've had a clue what we were doing :). He also managed the scoring for us. The scoreboard thing was very confusing so that was very helpful as well. All in all, lots of fun and lots of laughs. I have sore arms the next day from all the sweeping, so I'm counting it as a workout as well haha. Dress warmly, as it's pretty cold to maintain the ice, comfortably, as you'll be doing some deep lunges, and wear socks! Gloves wouldn't hurt either. The Hub itself looks like a huge space with dining, drinking, axe throwing, etc, in addition to curling. It was empty when we were leaving, as they were just closed to the public for what seemed like a holiday party that was about to start.

"DUO is the one!!!Meet up with friends for happy hour 5-7. Got drinks (2), potato skins and wings for $20 + plus tip! Music is on point. I'm about to be a regular.Went on a Tuesday, crowd was cool. No rah rah stuff! Bar area got full but never seemed packed or too overwhelming to manuever through. Out waitress was cool and served us at a high top. Was responsive with utensils, napkins, refills. I didn't stay for karoake but next time it's a must!"
"As my profile states, I like to move it, move it. And movin' it at Delux Lounge is pretty darn easy. The sectioned off portion of the dance floor is the perfect space to get your dance and party on while you toss back a few drinks. The DJ, while not the world's most innovative, will keep the top 40 hits coming all night long, and let's face it--that's what top 40 is great for. Sweet dance moves, yo!The bar is relatively easy to get to from the dance floor (unless it's super crowded, which can happen) and the bartenders are quick with a drink and friendly to boot! The prices are totally reasonable (although admittedly I spent a good portion of my drinking years in college Chicago so I find most cocktails in the Detroit area a steal) and the drinks are stiff and tasty. A good selection of beer (STELLLLLA!) and the waitresses that roam the floor are very helpful and cheerful as well. If you're not really the type to bust out the running man and drop it like it's hot on the dance floor you can still have a good time at Delux. The music isn't so loud that you can't carry a decent conversation and there are a few huge booths that make sitting and chatting relatively easy (just make sure you get there early on a weekend since they fill up fast!). Parking can be kind of a nightmare unless you pony up for the lot across the street (which I suggest you do since window popping does happen downtown, unfortunately), and since it can get crowded it can be a bit overwhelming if you're agoraphobic. But if you're cool with a crowd and you want a fun, low stress night out, Delux is a pretty good place to gather your friends and hit the dance floor. Bring on the Usher, ya'll!"
"Fun place to go with friends or your family as they have many options for games, food and drinks."
"Meh!!!Because I have an expansive palette and incredibly high standards (giggles), I knew that I should have just quieted the FOMO and continued to drive past this bar. The name "bistro", made me feel as though I was possibly judging the location and clientele harshly; and that maybe I should give it a try.I was sorely disappointed and will be a lot less likely to succumb to FOMO.I knew better. The two stars are for the waitress who answered my call and waited on me when I arrived, Portia. (sp)She was very friendly and professional. She even invited me back and told me that I should come when the "mature" crowd hangs out. I guess I'm old...well, I'm definitely mature and like the older crowds, so technically, she wasn't off.Anywho...I can't give any more stars.I'll start with the exterior. I won't beat McNichols down too much, but one has to really watch themselves while driving or walking down this street. I can say this as almost a lifelong member of the neighborhood. I live within a mile of this bar. There is only side street parking as there is a bus stop in front of the bar. The side street parking is mostly unavailable depending on what time you stop here. This corner is usually super busy. It would be best to have a driver to wait in the car if you carryout here. The overall atmosphere of the interior...I could not differentiate the staff from the clientele as it seemed that the patrons and staff were all talking and walking all around the establishment. There was lots of cursing and overall low vibrational conversations going on. Much of which my mature ears could have done without. One woman sat next to me at the bar while I waited, with her chair pushed up against mine, moving me each time she moved. Her conversation was deplorable and loud. I had to get up and move towards the door waiting for my change as Portia took incredibly long to bring. The bar was huge, I would guess it seats at least ten people. There were plenty of tables as well.Speaking of the bar, it wouldn't be my choice to drink here as the bar wasn't fully stocked. The place seemed downright seedy to me. I was thinking that I would only return if the food was super yummy, but after tasting it and comparing the taste to the price I paid, this place is a definite NO for me and anyone else I know who asks me about it.I ordered steak bites (medium), which were more like "steak bits". The meat was overcooked, hard to chew and there were way too many onions.I also ordered lobster mac and cheese and steamed broccoli. The broccoli was good. I wished there were more. The mac and cheese was edible, and would have been fine had I not expected lobster. I couldn't find more than two bites of it.The price I paid for my dinner, $27, was simply not worth what I was served. I don't mind paying top coin for good food, but this meal wasn't worth more than $10-$15.I hate to leave scathing reviews. This place is obviously fine for the customers that frequent it. It's simply not for me."
"Here's what you need to know:Mugly's is a pretty good, hotel restaurant with a comfortable Victorian lounge vibe. They open for early breakfast, close late morning and reopen for evening dinner. The menu is well balanced and has plenty of options for most any tastes. The food is mostly good and is reasonably priced. Looking for a cocktail? There's a full bar available during dinner hours and they have daily happy hour specials. Here'sMyTopThreeFavoritesAndOneToAvoid:Rueben / Rachel Sandwich. If you like a good, meaty Reuben or Rachel, get this. It's a really satisfying sandwich. A+.Smothered Chicken dinner is quite good. It's a grilled chicken breast, covered in gravy with your choice of two sides. Another A+ in my book.Fish and Chips are good here. Crispy batter with a fairly thick cut of white fish and comes with a good amount of fries, too. I'd give it an A.Quesadillas with your choice of beef or chicken. Not great. I got the chicken version, and there was an OK amount of chicken, but not a lot of cheese. More light and crispy instead of chewy and savory. For some odd reason, they sprinkle canned Parmesan cheese on top. (D)"
"I stumbled on this spot on Instagram looking for a place to go hear karaoke and they have it on Thursday evenings. This is a small but cute bar and grill that sits on a corner in an eastside neighborhood. We got there around 5:30pm which was the perfect time to be able to get a seat because within the hour it was already standing room only. Our waitress started out good but but as time went on so did her attention to check on us without us having to flag her down. They have a really good food menu and I really wanted to try everything and there was constant flow of DoorDash & GrubHub pick-ups. I decided on the Trio which comes with Henny Wings, Fried Shrimp and Catfish nuggets, my husband got the Ground Lamb Sliders with fries. Whwn I tell you the food was AMAZING!!!! If you plan on coming here for karoake early arrival is strongely suggested! It was a good time but know that it gets pretty crowded and seats are limited. Overall, this is a good spot to go for food, drinks and music. I will go back on another day maybe in the warmer months because they do have an outisde area in the rear of the building."
