"Prices are very fair. Menu selection pretty good. Facility is clean. I've been here on several occasions and each time the service has left a lot to be desired in that the waitresses are all rather sarcastic. This last time I ordered a strawberry waffle that arrived with no whip cream on top. No biggie. I asked if they could provide whip cream and the waitress replied snarkedly "You should have told me you wanted whip cream" WTH! I ordered bacon well done and no lie, it was served like it was nuked in the microwave to the point where it was almost DUST! I lifted the piece of bacon and it was so dry it literally fell apart when being picked up! Scary waitress made me not say a thing about the shi%%y bacon I never ate. Previously 8 older women ate here and at the end when the waitressed served them one bill they inquired if they could please all receive separate bills and the waitress literally ripped the one bill into 8 pieces!!! Spare me; there are WAY better places to eat without getting a side a smart-ass with your meal."
"My family has eaten here for years...it's a staple of the community if you asked me.Great and reliable selection of foods made freshly to order for a family friendly price. Nice clean restaurant and facilities...What more can I say?Oh, they've got great salads. Finally, the staff is really exemplary. A college level hospitality school right here in Farmington Hills!I recommend!"

"I've been coming to this place since it opened, so I'm surprised I haven't reviewed them yet. I mostly visit for lunch during the work week, so keep that in mind as you read on.Service is always so friendly and prompt. I'm never standing around for too long before I'm greeted 'n seated. They have some tall tables and booths throughout. It's a decent spot for small groups but I wouldn't try to come here with more than six people.I fell in love with their almond chicken lunch entree on my first visit and I've stuck with it. Why mess with perfection? I sub out the rice for their (excellent) mashed potatoes and usually request it without garnish because I don't like cabbage. I always ask for an extra side of the cream sauce (it's like alfredo but better.) My order is always correct and food is usually served quick (sometimes too quick!) I enjoy their chicken lemon rice soup, although it's very skimpy on chicken and it's much thinner than most coneys serve theirs. Prices are high for dinner but lunch is decent. Their lunches tend to be under $14, which is fairly standard these days. I ordered lamb chops for dinner once and it was like $45? The portion was great but it was tough looking at that price tag to make my initial selection. Overall, friendly and accurate service, excellent food, great portions. If you enjoy patio eating, they've got a beautiful patio in the back."
"This is a nice place in downtown Clawson. It's outdoor/patio seating area is nice for summer evenings. I love their burgers and Greek Gyros . The atmosphere is laidback and the scenery is ok since it's facing the south side of Main St. However, it's quiet and nice enough for friends and family interested in getting together to chat and grab a bite together. Bonus: customers may select to pay via their phone by scanning a code that's printed on the bill, which makes for faster payment processing time. Overall, the food and atmosphere is decent enough that I plan on going back with a group of friends."
"My first time here, and I realized this was where my (late) best friends wife worked! She wasn't working yesterday evening when me and my husband and 1 year old tornado came in, she just had his funeral the day before so she was off a few days, but I can't believe I didn't come in sooner! I'm not a diner frequenter usually. I'm just such a picky eater that we end up arguing and I don't like what I've ordered, bag it up, and he eats it for left overs. Everything sounds good on the menu, but this time I asked our waitress what is the top 3 ordered/best items. So the dinners all come with soup, salad, entree, and jello or rice pudding. Great deal for the price if you ask me! So we both got salads with their homemade ranch, with added cucumber, red onion, and chick peas, and cups of chicken lemon rice. Everything was great! I shared my food with my 1 y/o daughter and she LOVED IT ALL! For entree we chose meatloaf for him, and I chose a big beef chopped sirloin patty. Both came with choice of potato and we chose mashed and mixed veggies, but there's many veg and potato choices. My sirloin comes with red or brown sauce and I didn't know what I'd like so she was kind enough to bring out a cup of each. Red has vegetables and tomato based and usually goes on your rice, brown is like a brown mushroom gravy with lots of mushrooms and was excellent on the meat. Everything came out piping hot and fresh, and please the pickiest of eaters! Then dessert I didn't think I could make it! Me and my daughter got jello's with whip topping, and he got rice pudding... Both excellent again. The waitresses were wonderful, helping worth my fussy little one because she had just come from the Dr and was throwing everything so they gave her crayons and papers and even played for a while to distract her so I could get a bite in lol! The drink were always filled, plates were removed accordingly, and everyone was friendly and helpful. We will DEFINITELY BE BACK! And you can't beat all this for the price ANYWHERE! I wish I took pics but the little one had me extremely busy! They also kindly boxed everything up for me so I could eat it later."
"Great environment. Nice service. I got the bbq quesadilla lunch special. It was amazing. Fresh mozzarella sticks. Hot and fresh. Got a side of fries also. Everything was amazing. Definitely a good place to eat."
"We really enjoyed this experience. We loved the high top tables and decor. I asked the "chef" (not sure what to call him) what his favorite wrap to prepare was and then had him make that. Food was prepared quickly and was absolutely delicious. Easy to find and park and close to the zoo where we were visiting for Wild Lights."
"We came here because it's down the street from the Dime Store and we had a 45 min wait. Apparently they just opened back up and business has been slow. The bartender was very helpful and friendly. We weren't eating and just came in for a drink. The food smelled delicious though. I would come back to try some authentic greek food for sure!"
"The turkey rubeun was good, could have more meat. The waitress was goodThe owner obnoxious and rude to staff. He sits or walks around barking orders or talking on phone, he really needs to go in back or home"
"We were walking by and noticed that the old sports bar that used to be here has changed! What a totally different vibe! The inside was absolutely gorgeous! I wasn't crazy about my drink but that was my own fault. The servers were all white nice. We split some seafood pasta and I was still hungry so we ended up getting fries too. We really enjoyed it here and would definitely come back!"
"Wow has it been 11 years now that I have been coming to this place. I stop coming here during Covid. There have been a lot of changes since then especially with new staff and they close a little bit early. But still their breakfast is one of the best in selection that I have tried. I do recommend the burgers and the grill cheese. Look out for their selection of deserts they have a pretty good selection too. The vibes here among the owner and staff has shears been good. That is all. Chief Ships sink because they take on water don't take on water for those that want to sink you."
"2nd time I came for a carry-out. I live a 1/2 hour away but so good. I ordered a lot because I been driving by for years and never stopped. The gyro is delicious the fries are divine i ordered a large Greek salad and 1 beef and 1 chicken kabob. The meat is so tender and wonderful and tzatziki is great. Staff is friendly-it's a small place but delicious especially since my favorite Greek restaurant in Greektown went out of business. Even the rice is good. I will be back next time I'm gonna try something different. Worth the drive!!!"

This is the spot. Hands down, one of the best meals we've had on a "night out" in a very long time! The food was absolutely delicious! From what's on the menu, to the pricing, there is something for nearly everyone here. The restaurant is very nice in appearance. Very clean and well lit. Definitely a nice date night spot and everything in between! We eat here at least twice a month. Every single time, this place nails it. NAILS IT!!! The food is simply amazing. The staff are always very friendly too. They know the menu. And to me, that says a lot. You won't be disappointed! SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL BUSINESSES

Looking for a place to eat in Clawson and I asked my friend who lives in Clawson where should we go and she suggested Tavern On the Main. The restaurant is at the tail end of the downtown Clawson area. The restaurant has its own private parking lot and it is free. There is a patio seating area and plenty of seating inside. Umbrellas are throughout the patio area to give relief from the sun. Walking into the restaurant smelt like an older building - musty kind of smell, but the inside is not old looking. The decor is very cute and updated but still has some older charm, like beams on the ceiling. The bathroom was tidy and also had a cute vanity and overall design. All of the staff were very friendly and our waitress was attentive. We were seated right away and sat out in the patio. I was impressed with the drink menu and the food prices were not too pricey. The menu was also a good size - not too big but not too small either with items to pick. I went with the appetizer coconut shrimp and added coleslaw/fries to it to make it a meal. I was happy with the shrimp and the dipping sauce was good but it was frozen - so not sure if the fridge was too cold or if the sauce is frozen? Coleslaw was fresh and fries were crunchy. My husband got a burger and he was happy with it - the cook of the burger was how he ordered it. I would recommend and I wish I lived closer because I would become a regular!

The down to earth service and the ambiance is so comfortable! Stuffed peppers had great flavor and texture. Mashed potatoes were a bit gummy, but overall a good value.

I was visiting from CA and needed a Greek fix. I ordered the combo plate to-go: moussaka, pastitsio and gyro with rice, green beans and a Greek salad. It was a nice few bites of each and tons of gyro meat. Honestly, the thickest tastiest slices I've ever had. I wish they gave more tzatziki on the side. The side of a liquidity tomato sauce was new to me. I guess it goes on the rice.I also ordered banana nut pancakes. 3 fluffy tasty pancakes. Unfortunately they forgot the butter. All in all, it fulfilled my Greek food tasting. I encourage you to give them a try.

The gyro salad here is great. I get it with the gyro meat grilled. They are big and filling and come with plenty of toppings. The Greek dressing is great too. The tzatziki sauce is hit or miss (I always order a side for the gyro meat on my salad). It's like it depends on who makes - you may get what tastes almost like plain yogurt, or may get it made with cucumber or dill. I got chicken on my salad once and wasn't a fan- it was dry and bland. But the gyro salad with the dressing makes for a great lunch.

"My new favorite place for crepes!I love crepes and have been trying crepes everywhere I find them on a restaurant menu and prime grill is my new favorite place. They have many sweet varieties as well as l savory ones. My favorite is the cottage cheese crepes, which I can't find anywhere else but is so so good and prime grill perfects it!Crispy outside but fluffy inside and big but not overly big. Just perfect :) Staffs are super nice and price is very reasonable too. Very cozy and pleasant place for a low key weekend lunch.Highly recommend for anyone who likes breakfast foods and comfortable diner atmosphere."
"Always a good experience, though they do charge a bit too much for takeout cabbage soup. It's great, but it's also the food of the poor. It shouldn't cost that much."
"After a long flight to Detroit, I found myself STARVING. Myself and a few friends from a conference looked around for a place to sit and have a good meal. We found Niki's Pizza - a wonderful spot not that far from the riverfront. It has pizza, salads, regular entrees, and a full bar. It was exactly what we needed!I ordered a small veggie pizza - I've never had a Detroit style pizza and it was so good! The inside of Niki's was clean and inviting. On my first visit to Niki's (because YES, I went back the next day to eat more pizza), the A/C was broken. Our server was so kind and explained the situation. She asked if we needed any additional waters or anything to compensate for the heat. Luckily, I am from sweltering Florida, so the heat was not bothering me one bit! The next day, the A/C was all fixed up. I highly recommend Niki's if you are in the area or staying at a hotel nearby. It's a great place to sit and breathe after a long day at a conference or after a day of travel!"
"Great food (try the rye as strange as that sounds), fast service, and a friendly wait staff. Nothing I have ordered has missed the mark yet."
"This is our go to place to get "home" cooking. I've never had a bad meal here. The staff is incredible, great lunch and dinner specials and dessert as part of the meal on several menu items. I recommend this restaurant all the time. Five stars in family dinning."
"Great place to grab some lunch. We stopped in and it was clean, not too busy and the food was delicious. The service was great and the location was convenient. Parking can be a challenge but it wasn't enough to deter me. The bowl reminded me of a lamb and rice dish that married a Greek salad. It was amazing and definitely would get another when I'm in the area."
"Dined here tonight with large group. They do have a problem with early evening sun that blinds you despite blinds that reduce the glare. Service was great and so was food. We shared fire sausage, fire cheese, hummus and salad for appetizers. All very good. My main was the steak kabobs and was delicious. Highly recommend this place."
"I called to get a carry out order. I'm in the parking lot and they are definitely open. The phone number on Google and as well on Yelp states that the phone number that I have reached is not in service. Doesn't make any sense at all. I was a tad annoyed that I couldn't order the food ahead. It took a bit for anybody to come to the front desk and ask what I needed. I just wanted to carry out order. Woman at the front counter told me that I carry out order would take at least 25 minutes. She informed me that she has tables that she hasn't even waited on yet but I've been waiting. They are grossly and sadly understaffed."
"I'm always a little weary when I eat at a spot that's located in a strip mall, even a little more weary when sitting across from is someone who wants to stab you in the face with a butter knife. I guess maybe I would write that off as someone being passionate right? No... you're right, probably not. It probably has to do more with me being a jerk face. Anyway, in high stress high adrenaline situations like these, what's better than some comfort breakfast food? This place serves some of the best. Believe me when I say, there is nothing fancy of this place. What little effort they put into decor and aesthetics they put 55.7x more effort into the quality of the grub they serve. Ms. Murder Eyes ordered a veggie omelette and I had the 2 eggs any style (trying to be extra healthy). Since my meal was pretty simple, I will be reviewing the few bites of the omelette that she had. The best ones I've ever had were the ones that were light, extra fluff and loaded with whatever bits and pieces you want in there. They met every criteria. The eggs sliced easily with a fork, loaded to the brim with veggies. The one thing I have never understood about diner breakfasts is the redundant carbs. Why toast and potatoes? I mean I get both being included but starches? COME ON!!! Throw in a fruit, a veggie, anything. But yet again, I digress. I am very rarely impressed with hashbrowns. Usually they are soggy and undercooked. Drake's did a great job. Crunchy, firm and perfectly cooked. Very tasty. I would have had a few more bites but Ms Murder Eyes was gripping that butter knife pretty tight, her fingers were turning blue. Will definitely be having breakfast here again when I'm in the neighborhood. Hopefully I will be in less physical danger next time around.Post Script - I survived."
"We had a party of 5. The food was good and complimented by the excellent service. Order time to table was great. I would recommend them if you're looking for a good coney island."
"Them wings hit! The wet jerk wings were appropriately surprising coming from Royal Oak. The wings are whole and well cooked and seasoned. The spice of the jerk was akin to homemade. I enjoyed the chocolate cake too. This place was a pleasant surprise."
"Got the spinach feta tomato omelet with hash browns to go. The food was amazing and look how nicely they packed it!! They even put parchment paper between the food and the toast so the toast wouldn't get soggy. The food was even perfectly symmetrical see photo lol place is a little hidden breakfast gem."
"Always great food and great service! Love the Maurice Salad and Sami. Great soups and daily specials."
"I cannot believe in all my years on Yelp I never wrote a review for Sam's Place! This has been my family's go to breakfast spot after church for years now- almost two decades! Now it's just dad and myself because no one else goes to church but the food is still something we look forward to every Sunday! We almost always get two eggs over medium, hash browns, one with bacon the other with sausage links, one with white toast, and the other with rye toast- well done and coffee. It's cooked to order every time including the well done toast. Now my family and I have worked at different coney islands throughout our life and their breakfast just doesn't hit like Sam's place. The hash browns are always good. You can tell that they aren't left sitting on the stove top or what my place used to do which was put cooked hash browns back in the freezer and then bring them out again to serve! Sam's place hash browns are the perfect kind of flavor and crisp to them. Our eggs are always spot on as well as our toast a meats. The coffee cups never run dry and the servers there are always nice. Our favorite servers are the young blonde girl and a young man, though we haven't seen him in awhile ): I'm realizing now we should ask for her name. She's the friendliest and most attentive one of them all!"
"Went here last week had a corn beef sandwich and chicken noodle soup. This place is like a hole in the wall they been there forever and don't expect anything fancy because it's not one of them places. You seat yourself and they have an excellent amount of food to choose from. It was only one waitress that day but she handled everything in a decent amount of time. I like going here for a quick bite of good when I'm in the area. I definitely recommend this place!"
"While I have never been in the restaurant I have had their food catered for several different events. It is always tasty and the shish ka bob is yummy and filling! It does not disappoint."
"This place has everything. We tried their gyro, grilled pork chops and steak and they were all delicious. Service is great too. Must visit when you're in Detroit."
"I l highly recommend everyone to come and check out this amazing restaurant. Food and waitstaff are amazing. I had the French toast - yummy I will be going back"
"New location, apparently the first in Michigan. Running a $5 special for the Chicken Gyro meal. Regular daily specials are more like $12, so this was a great deal. The good - service was very good. Lots of people checking on you. I won't expect that level of attention on a regular basis, but the cashier was wonderful. The chicken was juicy, plenty of it in the gyro, and roasted veggies as a choice of sides was a nice option. Good, healthy meal. The less than perfect - both items were under seasoned. One final comment. The location is less than ideal if you need to go north on Rochester Road when you leave. Very difficult location to turn left. Conversely, you can get to them from Square Lake by driving behind the medical plaza and past the Fairfield hotel."
"I was craving chili cheese fries and had heard good things about Alpha Koney Island so after my haircut up the street I placed a carryout order through Grubhub. It was a quick turnaround and within minutes my order was ready. I came in and had to wait quite a bit to have anyone acknowledge me but once they did they were very nice. I grabbed my hot dogs, coneys, fries etc from the front counter and got in the car. I checked to make sure I had everything and I was glad I did because they had forgotten the rice pudding I had also ordered for my husband. I went back and it took a few minutes again for someone to help me. It then took another few minutes for them to bring me my pudding but they individually package the pudding vs. pre packaging it beforehand so that's why it took a minute. That was nice cos you could tell it was made in house. The fries and dogs were both great. A little soggy by the time I got home because of the extra pudding wait but unless you're eating there when your plate comes right out from the kitchen you're not gonna get super crispy fries with your chili cheese toppings. Small price to pay for a delicious plate of (awful for you but so delicious) goodness. The dining room is nice and spacious and very clean. I'd be curious to pop in for breakfast some time since that seems to be another Yelper favorite here."
"Our monthly lunch group varies from four to twelve people and we try to mix the type of places we meet at with respect to ethnicity, cost, ability to accommodate a group, and the location. Looking at recent places we've visited, I noticed that we haven't been to a Greek restaurant, so Athens Souvlaki fit the criteria. We arrived at 11:30am on Saturday and it wasn't busy yet so we were seated immediately and waited for the rest of our group...only five today! I had been studying the photos and menus on Yelp and had predetermined that it's been a while since I've had a Gyro so my wife and I both ordered the same thing and also split a bowl of Lemon Rice (Avgolemono) Soup.Service was excellent and our food came out very quickly. The soup was delicious and you can add chicken for an extra charge. The Gyro was also very tasty and was served with what seemed to be straight sour cream instead of the usual Tzatziki sauce. Overall we had a great meal and leisurely time with friends."
"Meh. The chicken Shawarma was dry and forgettable. The cheese rolls were delicious though so they get this review two stars. I will return just for an order or two of those."
"An Okay restaurant, fast-foodish? but more on the healthy/better side. They have a big variety of items, ranging from typical Greek/Mediterranean to your typical burger and pub food items.I had the veggie burger, which is a very tough test for any restaurant to master, and it was not bad at all!It was alright, along with fries and onion rings..I also had the lemon rice soup, and it was pretty delicious..I will go back again and try their gyros which looked very delicious.."
