"I have only been here once with my college friend that lives in Fdale, he likes sitting or standing out on their patio and people watching on Woodward. If it's warm outside and there's room out on the patio and not too much smoke, it's not too bad hanging out here. It's a bit north from the core of downtown ferndale. It's a very casual and laid back bar. Old school looking inside as well. They do have some decent draft beers, ping pong tables, darts as well."

"What a hidden gem in the Clem! I loved everything about Eastside Tavern. My friend invited me, I'd never heard of this place before. I won't give too much away because I feel everyone should experience the Tavern for themselves to truly appreciate it. I will say this....best prices for drinks, an amazing fried bologna sandwich and a HUGE hamburger! We ended up slitting both and taking home leftovers. If you try anything, that bologna sandwich was delicious. On a side note, watch your head and DO NOT wear heels ladies. You can thank me later! Lol"

Dive bar with a parking lot. Inside is a dark windowless dive bar with an okay craft beer selection, great food, and polite staff. Decent prices.They stopped the Sunday $2 burger promotion. However, all the different burgers on the menu look good, and the Signature Burger I had was great. Worth a stop and a drink or three and a burger.

Good for karaoke and dive bar enthusiasts. Average bar with decent drink prices and fast bar tenders. Fun and hipster. Don't dress to impress. Don't worry, you do not have to be the new upcoming Michael Bubble or Alicia Keys. If your b flat is extra flat perfect....this is the place for you! Not the place for an intimate date or drink but a great place for a group to let loose and have fun! Casual. Very casual. We grabbed dinner and then came here for a birthday and had a blast. Large elevated stage where you can solo ride or find your boy band calling. One to two microphones with a small monitor to tell the words. Plenty of seating for a group, just get there early because seating for groups is limited.Worth it to go for karaoke! Otherwise I would come here probably never again.

New Way, what's not to love. Ok if you enjoy a good dive bar, you'll love New Way. First off they seem to find the best bartenders, they're great. Good service, hard working and just make my beer drinking experience more enjoyable. They usually have a few interesting craft beers on tap that I enjoy, usually Kuhnhenn dripa. Also a pool table that's always hustling, they put up a ping pong table someone, have electronic darts, and a bunch of other games stuffed in the corner. As well as some live local bands, and my favorite part the patio with the big sun chairs on it. Love it, drink a beer watch the cars on Woodward chill inside, talk to the always interesting locals. To go to Ferndale New Way.

I was born in Mt Clemens but moved to Calif before I turned 2 yrs old. 70 years later I'm in town for a BIG 95th B-DAY in the family. My Aunt, cousin, nephew and I went on a Monday around noon. All I had heard was you have to get the burger, so I got the 'Franks Favorite Loaded Deluxe' - mushroom, bacon cheeseburger, my Aunt and cousin each got cheeseburgers and my nephew had the steak and cheese quesadilla. They started us with a basket full of what seemed like Ruffles potato chips, like a full family size bag dumped into a basket. These are my Kryptonite and I can't stop until they are GONE. It took most of my self restraint because the service wasn't fast, but only half the chip basket was gone and I just started my 2nd Miller Lite when our food arrived. Apparently there is a longtime local butcher shop across the street that they use for their meat and it is fresh. A good flat top grilled burger needs the have the right amount of fat and my burger was perfect! My nephew said the steak and cheese quesadilla was really good. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 stars was as much my fault as anything else. When we got back from our lunch stop and started telling everyone how good everything was, another cousin pulled up some reviews on their phone and that's where I saw what would have made me give 5+stars, a Bloody Mary with bacon, shrimp and what looked like a 'mini-burger' on top! I'll be back... and yes I finished off all the chips.

Hadn't been to the Wagon Wheel for ages - didn't like the rude Host they had on Friday and Saturday for Karaoke. Well, he's gone, and the woman who replaced him is great! Although I'm 74, one of the oldest people there, I had good reactions to both songs I did: The Greatest Love Story and Father Figure. I think I was in great voice last night, and the audience let me know that they appreciated me. Additionally, the songs done by others included quite a few favorites of mine: Don't Stop Believin' What's Up/ What's Goin' On, Friends in Low Places, etc.

I have been there over the years and been through the reinvention. It worked because more people frequent it now than before. This location used to be called the Stop Spot and had pretty good pizza at that time.Current Review............Great service by the staff, the waitress checks on you with high frequency and is friendly. They do have plenty of seating at the bar and a couple of high top tables to sit at. Most of the seating is at table that are way too close together and the chairs are always hitting each other, not arranged well at all. Bottles of Miller High Life are only 2 bucks there..........ah MHL a bright, bubbly beer in a bottle the Champagne of beers : ) On the last visit is was a Sunday evening and also a karaoke night, but the only one doing the singing was the host. Not one patron held the mic.An ok little bar, more like a relaxed HP bar than a Ferndale trendy Ferndale bar.So giving it an "A-OK"

We're new to the area, so my husband and I have looked for the coolest dives near us. The White Lake Inn has a great deck and Palapa bar. The view of the lake makes the slow service less of a hassle. The food is tasty and pretty legit, as long as you're not starving when you show up. We've been three times now. The first time was Friday of Memorial Day weekend and we were expecting it to be bustling. It was busy, not crowded and the fastest service of the other visits. They even brought my daughter's food first so she wouldn't get impatient (she's 5). The other two times, we waited over an hour. Which isn't a huge deal, but it really burnt my toast to watch people come in after us who got served before us. Both times. Real talk, I will be going back regardless because I love the view, the drinks are well priced and the food tastes good. Just pack stuff for your kiddos to eat and do while you wait.

"This place kind of was what I expected.. They have bar food and to be honest it was NOTHING special, NOTHING that great and the wings 10 piece order still had 5 wings left and it was split between 4 people,...Nobody finished them lol which says something. Just so you know they DON'T make margaritas, they don't make Spanish coffees, god forbid a frozen drink...and they didn't have any of the liquor I requested. NOT ONE!!! So it's pretty basic hole in the wall cheap bar.... but hey it's cheap and they are cheap and judging by the crowd they also looked cheap.... There was a mixture of people they played mostly country music The only positive thing about my experience here was that they did have pulled tabs and Keno which I to play but even the keno and Pull Tabs didn't even win me anything I probably will never be back *(by this I WILL NEVER BE BACK)* Sorry establishment but you were a huge disappointment."

"This a five star review from a purely Ypsilanti nightlife perspective.Now this place is indeed a dive and small, but however it is a good time. Wednesday and Saturday (I Believe) is Karaoke night (Very Hype) and Friday night is turned into a mini makeshift nightclub (Good music/DJ and a nice crowd with something for everybody plus a little dance floor=Hype and a good time). I can also say that the drinks and beer here is cheap and will get you messed up. I have yet to have their food, but i have heard positive reviews from a few people. So if you live in this area or is a grown EMU student and have nothing to do, I definitely recommend this place to you."

"Only found the place by doing a search on dive bars. Royal Inn Bar was hiding in plain sight for years and I never noticed it. The bartender was cool and folks inside were so welcoming it felt like we've been coming here for years. They had daily specials for food and drinks. From what I saw they had a small menu with the usual bar food: burgers, wings, wraps...etc. I'm not sure if they have a happy hour but the drinks prices were more than reasonable. They also have Keno so you can gamble a little AND help the state of Michigan...take your money quicker! :) Royal Inn ticked all my dive bar needs and I'll be back again on my next visit to the mitten state."

The food was pretty good I really enjoyed the crispy skin and the meat was moist. The sides were just ok but I enjoyed the pork chop and I look forward to trying more. There is a full bar. The place is really tight and small But it's always packed."
