"Shatila Bakery is a Detroit classic--everyone knows their pastries are unreal. The house-made chocolate, kanafe, and ice creams are all incredible, and you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. But somehow, not enough people talk about my absolute favorite thing--the Ashta fruit cups! They're so good. The only downside is that they sell out sometimes, so they're not always available. But if you see them, do yourself a favor and grab one!"
"With Polonia next door it's the battle of the pierogies! While Anthony Bourdain did indeed go to Polonia and sang its praises legend has it Polish Village Café was tapped first but with the narrow stairs leading to the cellar/basement level they were not able to get their filming equipment down there. To summarize my point of the dueling pierogies story my friends is this: Don't miss out on Polish Village Café! Try both places and you will get an accurate comparison of Polish cuisine. Similar yet different. I want to say the 4 of us ladies got phenomenal service from Alexis. She made great suggestions, was prompt, and was able to make a few modifications for my pickier friends. We started with the soup. Dill pickle for my friends and beet for me. This was some of the best beet soup I've ever had. My Polish babcia would make her beet soup and thicken it with sour cream. Other than my grandma I've never had a thickened and creamy beet soup until here. Dill pickle soup was also great with a tangy but not overpowering pickle taste. Wanting to sample a variety and also wanting leftovers I went with the pick 3 meat plate (city chicken, chicken livers, and fresh Polish sausage). Wow talk about a menagerie of food. The sausage alone was enough to feed 2-3 people. They put a beer gravy over the top which is something I've never had but it works. Chicken livers were deep-fried and slightly on the salty side but dipping them in the extra beer gravy proved to be a wise choice. City chicken was just as I remembered from before. Whatever breading they use somehow manages to stay in place but you still get the tender juicy flavor from the pork and veal that shines through. All four of us had enough food left over for lunch the next day. Prices are more than reasonable for the amount and quality of food you get. I'm excited to be living in the Detroit area again and will be able to satisfy my Polish food cravings whenever the urge hits!"

"The desserts here are amazing. We stop here every time we go to the greektown casino. The employees are always friendly and hustle when it's busy. The interior is clean and tidy."
"Went with my hubby to a Yelp event which said he had one guest with him. When we got there I wasn't on the list, my husband showed the girl what Yelp said, but she said no and so I was given some options, but I was too far down the counter where my hubby had to check in and couldn't really read the options well (hand written on chalk board).I ended up getting just one scoop of vanilla with waffle cone broken over it (due to the list she told me since not being able to get to menu from someone blocking) and I just chose waffle cone due to the options she quoted off to me. To be honest our server really didn't impress me because she didnt see me officially on the list although my hubby showed her the Yelp... she just seemed a bit annoyed. It seemed I got a bit of an attitude. Hubby had to pay for mine, while He got his.Would I try again? Eh.... I'm sure they have good items, but when you treat me kind of eh, my attitude becomes the same."
"My favorite place for Italian food! The service is always great, great ambiance and consistently great food... The chicken Toscana is my favorite and usual go to... the sauce itself is delicious and love that it is not super lemon forward. Some times Picatta and other dishes are so overpowering with lemon and Toscana is not that way at all..."
"Hands down, the best Mexican restaurant in the area. Post COVID the portions may have become a bit smaller but taste is still the best in town! Great service and friendly servers. Large enough to accommodate large groups as well. I hope this place stays as good as it is now for many more years."
"Service was great, and our waitress was very kind and checked in on us. I had the skinny burrito bowl, and I really liked the chicken. The bean corn side was ok- I didn't love the sauce. Overall recommend."
"Outstanding breakfast and the friendliest staff in Michigan. The omelets were incredible."
"This is a FANTASTIC restaurant for breakfast and/or lunch. A hidden gem in downtown Northville that was recommended. Do not pass this by.The menu is huge with so much to choose from and the breakfast items we had were EXCELLENT and large helpings. We all had a variety of eggs with sides of sausage and hash browns and very reasonable pricing.Service was great. They were very friendly and efficient. We never had to ask for coffee. The vibe is eclectic. A wide variety of unique wall hangings and even a fish tank AND an electric train that ran around from the ceiling. Very cool. All in all, "THE" place to go in Northville."
"This place is straight up awesome. Food is excellent. I ordered the California burrito and it was fantastic. See my photo to see what it looks like and what's in it. if you want legit tasting food go to Senoritas. The inside is nice and cool."
"This place was on my list of places to try so when I visited a friend in the area, I surprised him by treating him to a meal here.Counter and booth style seating. with TVs and great late 70s, 80s & early 90s R&B music playing throughout the establishment. We ordered the Fried Catfish Dinner and the Fried Turkey Chops Dinner with 2 sides each (2-Baked Mac&Cheese, Black Eyed Peas, and Candied Yams). The food was Delicious! In fact, the food was so good that my friend order the Fried Turkey Chops dinner to go with the Baked Mac&Cheese and Candied Yams.Great friendly down home service. They really make you feel good about coming in. Don't be surprised if on your way out you hear "Bye... See you tomorrow!"Oh, and I failed to mention, there is a drive thru window for pickups and ordering. I will definitely be back!!!"
"Mother and daughter run operation here. The vibe here is incredible remember to ask for kitty. The cheesecake selection is the best I have ever seen. I swear to you that this place gets a lot of customers. I lost count at 5 as one by one they kept walking in the door. The purple rain cheesecake is my favorite grape tasty cheesecake. The only thing this place is lacking is just coffee. I guarantee you will come here again and again. Just make sure you give yourself some time around the holidays. That is all. Chief Humble and simple will always bring peace and success."

Visited here on a Saturday night at 10pm last week and the place was CROWDED!Service is fast here even with so many people visiting. It's a Mediterranean bakery with lots of space to sit and eat. They have shakes, ice cream and coffee as well. When you enter you have to grab a token # and then place your order. Then a person helps you out with everything that you need from behind the counter. Then you can go to the cash counter and pay and pick up your order. Their fruit cakes are quite well know for birthday parties.

Great hidden jewel in the once Polish town of Hamtramck. Varied menu of your standard Polish plates. Some of the courses are with a twist like the Potato Pancakes with goulash on top. Pancakes were with a kick, they were spicy, and the plate would feed any man. We came on Sunday at noon and the place was humming with guests. Highly recommend coming in for some Polish food.

We had a great experience at Luciano's. I haven't been here since the 90s! It was just as charming as I remember it! Very old school Italian feel! The service was great and very quick. The food though? It was outstanding. They really feed you! Bread, soup or salad, pasta, and the main course. Soo much food. The bread was an absolute delight. The chicken Florentine was better than mine! The chicken Alfredo looked delicious! We will absolutely be back!!!!

I hate that I have to give a nasty review of this place, but their website has an email address for comments/complaints and I imagine the person who will respond will be the same manager who was working at the restaurant last night when we were there. So, this is the best option. We had a party of six for dinner on Sunday, 08/18/24 at 4:00 PM. Our waiter's body was present, but his mind was off in Cloud Koo Koo Land. The manager should've sent him home-there were plenty of waiters working who could've covered for him. My wife and mom ordered one order of chicken fajitas to split, but he brought two orders of chicken fajitas. So, we paid double for this and I asked him to box it up if he was going to toss it out. The young lady who was running food for him brought the food to our table and he and her proceeded to have a discussion about the error. He went back to the register and found out that he had made an error when he put both orders into the machine, but he did not correct his errors. He brought us drinks, but we had to ask for straws. He disappeared for two minutes and came back with straws. I asked him for our son's missing kid's taco and he said it'll be up soon. The taco came to our table right after that and he came back to our table to tell us they were still working on it. My dad told him we had it already-our son was halfway through eating it. Several tables had no customers with lots of dirty plates/silverware. There were multiple waiters aimlessly wandering the restaurant with nothing in their hands, so I'm not sure why they weren't helping each other out.We have been to Mojave Cantina several times before and the food was just as tasty as we remembered. Our bill came and we were charged for three lemonades, but we only ordered two and they were included with our kids' meals. Also, we never ordered the extra chicken fajitas, so my wife had to go to the bar and ask the bartender to correct the bill, which she did and the three lemonades and chicken fajitas were removed. It was an absolute dope show. Our waiter lacked basic communication skills-he didn't know what questions to ask or how to give good customer service. I'm not sure why he was working this job because he was mentally checked out before we arrived at the restaurant. The only time we saw the manager was when were getting in our car in the parking lot and she was sitting down texting and smoking a cigarette. There was a time when a waitress was whispering to someone through a crack in a door near the bathroom. I don't know what they were talking about, but if that was the manager in that room, what was she doing? The restaurant was starting to get busy, so they needed all hands on deck. We'll come back, but we'll ask to have a different waiter.

Their stuffed French toasts and their lemon ricotta pancakes sound so yummy. I called ahead to make sure they have dining available and to check their time for hours for today. They are open until 2 PM, that's the last that they'll take orders. They did remind me that they only are allowed 25% capacity and that they had a few tables ready. We're not quite ready to eat just yet, but we will be soon. The woman that answered the phone was extremely friendly and warm. She sounded so sweet. The same woman that answered the call waited on us, she's so genuinely sweet, quite amiable and so polite and attentive too. They have a lot of carry out orders ahead of us, warned us the food may take a while. The guy working in the back as solo. They have broccoli and cheddar quiche with fruit, tomato and basil soup and smoked kielbasa, cheese and veggies. We ordered the Boursin cheese omelet, 1 lemon ricotta pancake for $5 (2 for $8). I also got 1 lemon ricotta pancake. I ended up getting the scramble with spinach, feta, zucchini, yellow squash, mushrooms and a cup the Hungarian mushroom soup. The Hungarian soup came out first while we wait for the our food. It's chock full of fresh mushrooms, top to bottom even. It's a colorful and well seasoned creamy broth. The flavors perfect. The waitress put some classic music in the background. Since we are dining solo, she said we could change the station to whatever we like. The lemon ricotta pancake is thick, but super light and fluffy. The lemon glaze is so lemony and fresh and fantastic. The pancake is a bit dense for me, but it's still good. It's like a giant ooey gooey plate sized donut. The scramble is good, nice proportion blend of spinach, mushrooms and zucchini. Side of red skins and green peppers are perfectly cooked and nicely seasoned too. The marble rye and the pumpernickel toasts are nicely toasted. It looks and tastes like a good artisan toast. They use fresh ingredients for their dishes, except the deli sliced Turkey for their Rueben. The woman that waited on us was absolutely lovely, so kind and genuinely nice.

"We've been to most other Mexican places in town and were looking for something different this night. I always thought this was part of the similarly-named chain, but it's its own thing. The service and the family that owns it is a hoot, and really friendly and attentive. It's nice and cozy and colorful inside, with plenty of seating. We were told later that everything is homemade, and it shows! Salsas are delicious, so are sauces and all the food. We've been back a few times already, and get the same great food each time. Food comes out pretty quick, and they have a good amount of options. I will definitely try some other things, I'm looking forward to the puffy tacos. It's some great Mexican food!"
"Crumbl is my "go to" delivered b-day present for friends, last minute dessert for guests and fun/flavorful/colorful and delicious dessert for parties! Everything here is fresh, quick and a great experience!"
"I ordered a small kanfa it was ready quick and tasted great Service was quick and efficient Location is great plenty of room to sit"
"HLa, I like that IVY is in thēē middle of the neighborhood, Ya may miss it on Jefferson but the service was cool, personable ladies. VERY quaint, sat at thēē bar. We ordered wings & fries, coulda been hotter but the other customers suggested to try the crocroissants, Steak (medium) w/ asparagus. The drinks looked YUM. Will visit again, I believe you'd ENJOY! GRATZî Yall"
"I come here all the time to get their meat bread and their sweets. They have a lot of variety that it can get overwhelming but their dessert is so cute. I usually go in the early morning because this location opens early and it gets crowded in the afternoon. I never really sat down here except once and it was busy. Sometimes all the seats might be taken depending when you go.Because I live so close this is one of my go to dessert places but their meat bread is the best I've tried so far. Haven't found one that compares."
"Best place for frozen custard. They also love their pups and offer pup cups! Everyone is always super friendly."
"Fun spot. Host was very nice, a few servers did not look too happy, I sat at the bar, bartender was cool.Had the buffalo wings which were saucy and delicious; the shake tasted absolutely amazing!! Milk alternatives are available."
"The desserts here are really tasty and unique. The service was quick and this place can get packed but there's seating outdoors too. I would definitely recommend their shaved ice desserts!"
"My friends in Miami and Rotterdam organized having a Peteet's Superman cheesecake delivered to my house for my 40th birthday this year. I wasn't expecting it, and the delivery came from DoorDash, but the entire process was easy, and the cheesecake was delicious, as a fan of Superman ice cream. The cheesecakes was light and flavorful, and most importantly a swirl of red, yellow, and blue. Ten slices came to a whole, which I ate more of thanI expected to, but sometimes a slice of cheesecake is the perfect breakfast. I am anxious to try other flavors they offer and their carrot cake! And happy to support an Oak Park Business."
"I got a pack-of-6 as a gift, and loved it!Lemon - predominant creamy/buttery flavor with a subtle, but definitely noticeable lemon flavorOrange - light orange flavor that leans towards the "fragrant" side as opposed to its citrus/sour sideToasted Almond - nostalgic; reminds me of the almond cookies I had as a kid. Coffee - strong coffee flavor and dusted with coffee grounds, which gives it a very mild bitter contrastChocolate - surprisingly mild; comparably subtle as the citrus macaronsBirthday Cake - so nostalgic; made me feel like a kid againThoroughly enjoyed all of them. The birthday cake flavor was easily my favorite though! I'd happily give this a 5, but could argue that that the macarons at le bon macaron are somewhat better. Hopefully I'll be proved wrong when I hopefully get a chance to visit in person!"
"My friend and I went here on a Sunday. It was a little busy, but the service was good. The menu is simple, but has a lot of variety of options. I got the s'mores rolled ice cream, and she got a matcha version with mochi and pocki. Each was $7.50, which seems a fair price for the size of the ice cream. The shop was clean and had plenty of seating, despite being busy. Overall, would go again."
"We ordered Lunch through Door Dash today. I ordered the Philly Supreme Cheesesteak Potato. Funny it didn't look like a Philly Cheesesteak on a potato, with all that broccoli. It more like mixed vegetables with cheddar cheese . Don't let me start on the firm chunks of beef some with fat attached. I was looking for tender thin slices of meat , that wasn't there either. Yeah, I was underwhelmed by this lackluster meal. It was also on the dry side. For a potato this size you'll need to use quite a bit of butter to help keep it moist. I think the quality has went down and the price has risen with this place. I really didn't want Potato Place because the last time I had it, I didn't enjoy it . Sometimes you must take one for the the team. They can definitely do better in the future with the quality, taste and presentation of their food especially if they going to charge you an arm. Oh yeah you're going to pay extra for butter, sour cream ect.. especially if it don't come on it. Im not saying don't give it a try, I just would prefer better quality even if its as simple as topping on a potato."
"Amazing bakery! Amazing products!I went to see in person the Amon Ra St Brown cake....I was not disappointed! In my pre going there research...I saw that they have done multiple amazing cakes like this in the past! I got there about 1pm on a beautiful sunny Friday. There was a lot of buzz outside! The line to get in the store was not too long, so I stood and admired the display cake as I waited to sample their wares. Once in, the bakery items were quite enticing. From thinking I'll just get a couple of cookies to...1 of each cookie type they had (6!) And some AMAZING looking cinnamon rolls to enjoy the next morning, I walked out with quite a haul! Everything was fantastic! The cinnamon roll was not only gorgeous and perfect looking...it had to be the best I've ever eaten! Looking forward to going back again soon!"
"Yum! My family and I ordered this through DoorDash and I must say it was truly delicious. We each tried one of their specials and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. The browned marshmallows they put on top of some of their sundaes tasted like a real campfire-roasted marshmallow. So good! I look forward to going back and trying some other flavors."
"This was one of first restaurants i tried in canton .during fall and summer we really enjoyed the patio seating arrangements. Burritos were nice margaritas were good too. Overall had a good experience at this restaurant. Service is quick. I enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant."
"I love the treats here! I've been here a few times and love there are vegan and gluten free options for my allergy sensitive friends. It's a cute place, very cozy inside. The service is fantastic and the employees always go above and beyond to make anything you order look amazing. These photos are old but their shakes are awesome and delicious!"
"The Döner was a bit on the salty side.... Next time I'll ask for less meat and more veggies. The bread it comes in was soft and delicious. The service quick and friendly. We will definitely be back."
"Never misprints when I'm in the D! Hands down, The best Baba Ghanoush anywhere. Make sure you get the pickle turnips"
"Always good and somewhat normal hours. Drinks and food are always fresh. Even open on Sunday"
"A gem tucked away in strip mall in Sterling Heights. Street Sweets is a great place to come if you just gotta have that sugar fix. I always get the Triple Sweet Iced Latte. Of course I never remember the name and just end up asking for the Iced Carmel Latte with three donuts, and by then the staff usually know what I'm talking about. I tend to pick the same latte but I try to mix it up each time with the donuts. This time I picked the Oreo, Fruity Pebbles, and Strawberry Sprinkle. They're are tons of choices to choose from. They all tasted amazing but I feel like the strawberry sprinkle was my fave. Overall tasty and a sugar RUSH. In addition to the Iced Lattes and donuts, they have cake, waffle pops, vegan cookies + more. If you're ever in the area you have got to stop by. I'll definitely be back to try the Waffle Pops!"
"Yummy cupcakes is one of my favorite bakeries in Oakland county. In addition to cupcakes they also sell cookies and macaron's with all types of flavors to choose from. My FAVORITE cupcake here is the vanilla bean. It may seem simple, but I think when it comes to desert sometimes less is more. I'll order four at a time sometimes just because they're just that good. By the drive home I'll only have two left! They also carry vegan and gluten free options as well which is a nice touch. The owners have always been very kind and they're fast as well. There is also a reward system that allows you to earn points for every purchase. It's tucked in a plaza on Woodward/Long Lake that you would most likely miss driving by but they are worth the visit!"
"We had a really good experience here and were pleased with our food. It was near to where we were staying, and was really accessible."
"My husband and I have stopped and had breakfast many times through the years. We stopped and had breakfast Friday, May 31. Everything was excellent and they had a pretty full restaurant. They changed the coffee and it was rich and flavorful, A few years back we were disappointed because we loved the food, atmosphere, location and service. The only thing we didn't like was their coffee as it was too weak. A biggy when you're a coffee lover and having breakfast. Thank you for making this change as it was huge for us. Well done!!!"
