"We went for a work event so took over the entire venue - the service was absolutely impressive from top to bottom. We had a couple hundred people there and things flowed smoothly in regards to being able to grab a delicious cocktail or delightful bite. Speaking of the food - wow!! 5 stars all around - usually when a place has "small bites" they are meh at best but everything offered was something I'd be excited to eat even at the fanciest restaurant! Would love to come here on a regular night sometime."
"We came here to pre drink and watch the Spartans sadly lose to OSU before attending a nearby fundraiser. Rhey open at three and have a great happy hour from 3-7. This was the first time that I have sat inside. The upstairs deck is sl much fun in the summer time. The inside is that of a casual slightly nicer than dive bar atmosphere. The food is typical bar food. Nothing to go crazy over. They did have a lot of door dash orders being picked up though. There were mostly regulars at the bar but several large groups of people came in. There were a lot of spots for larger groups to hang out. The bartender was nice and attentive. I do prefer to come in the summer and hang out on the deck though. If you're in the area check it out!"
"Not the best, nor the worst bar in Detroit. It was not too pricey for a woman and male to enter (total $20), which was nice. It was pretty dead at 1 AM on a Saturday night. I saw most of the young adult crowd at Delmar, which is the new rooftop bar on Monroe so perhaps they were there instead of at Exodus. The service to get a drink was pretty slow and the bartender didn't go in order who was waiting first. The atmosphere itself is nice but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again considering there's better bars in the area."
"Went for a private work Christmas party. Place was awesome. Cool vibe. Bartenders were amazing. View was amazing. Food was amazing. Love that they had bathrooms on that level and we didn't have to go down to use. DJ was awesome. It was cold but the outside porch area was sweet as well. Highly recommend. Would love to go back"
"As my profile states, I like to move it, move it. And movin' it at Delux Lounge is pretty darn easy. The sectioned off portion of the dance floor is the perfect space to get your dance and party on while you toss back a few drinks. The DJ, while not the world's most innovative, will keep the top 40 hits coming all night long, and let's face it--that's what top 40 is great for. Sweet dance moves, yo!The bar is relatively easy to get to from the dance floor (unless it's super crowded, which can happen) and the bartenders are quick with a drink and friendly to boot! The prices are totally reasonable (although admittedly I spent a good portion of my drinking years in college Chicago so I find most cocktails in the Detroit area a steal) and the drinks are stiff and tasty. A good selection of beer (STELLLLLA!) and the waitresses that roam the floor are very helpful and cheerful as well. If you're not really the type to bust out the running man and drop it like it's hot on the dance floor you can still have a good time at Delux. The music isn't so loud that you can't carry a decent conversation and there are a few huge booths that make sitting and chatting relatively easy (just make sure you get there early on a weekend since they fill up fast!). Parking can be kind of a nightmare unless you pony up for the lot across the street (which I suggest you do since window popping does happen downtown, unfortunately), and since it can get crowded it can be a bit overwhelming if you're agoraphobic. But if you're cool with a crowd and you want a fun, low stress night out, Delux is a pretty good place to gather your friends and hit the dance floor. Bring on the Usher, ya'll!"
"I love music and dancing. Generally, that applies to most genres. I also love the nostalgia of vinyl, and I live for a great cocktail and a fun atmosphere. All of which you get at Spot Lite Detroit. The place is tucked in a fairly isolated area in the Islandview neighborhood in Detroit off of Charlevoix and Mt. Elliot. The esthetics are dope. There is a coffee shop, a record shop section, a bar, a huge dancefloor and lots of seating. You can find obscure vinyl to take home and enjoy, order a cocktail from the tasty variety served, or a comfy cup of coffee and enjoy your evening laughing and dancing with friends. It's a really cool place to enjoy yourself.I only hope that the owners and also the area police make sure that guests' vehicles are safe. I worried the entire time I was there that my car would be fine when I returned to it. I was thankful that it was.Other than that, there is plenty of parking and a summertime patio area."
"Great happy hour specials. It was nice and not crowded on a Wednesday, even before a show. I enjoyed the Margherita pizza I ordered. Would definitely return!"
"This was a fun, low-key, underground-like lounge for a vibrant Movement after party. It's really impressive how good the sound system is for the space. That there is a big column in the middle of the dance floor is a little bit of a bummer for those of us who like watching the DJ, since the DJ booth is in the corner. Also, early into the after party time, the women's toilets were all clogged, so it cut some folks' evenings short.Bartenders were pretty good at managing the crowd and generous pours."
"Great place to go out and have a few beers, looks very clean and people are friendly Definitely coming back again."
"While gay bars/clubs are always fun, I would probably avoid this one for a few reasons: it is way too dangerous in this part of detroit, there's no security (or maybe they were in disguise), and it was pretty dead when I went on a Saturday near 11 PM. But the crowd that was there was diverse. However, the drinks are super strong and the music is cool. But I wouldn't go back."

Root caught my eye because of their revamped food menu in partnership with Takoi. We basically ordered everything available on the menu. It's super casual - it's best to order both drinks & food at the bar then find a table. It sounds like sometimes they have QR codes on the table + online ordering wasn't open when we went on a Sat. night). *Som Tum Thai (Green Papaya pounded in the mortar and pestle withgarlic, Thai chilies, long beans, tomato, peanuts, palm sugar, fish sauce, tamarind, and lime. Spicy! [VGO][GF]) - AWESOME flavor on this & yes, it was spicy but so good. Really hit the spot, I could get this over & over again just for something light & fresh. I'll definitely be ordering this to-go sometime. *Crispy Shrimp (Shrimp wrapped in wonton with pickled vegetablesand sweet chili sauce.) - kind of like a shrimp egg roll - no complaints. If you're looking for something more like bar food, this would be it! *Stir-Fried Corn (Sweet corn stir-fried with blueberries, Thai basil, cilantro, pistachio curry paste, and crispy rice crumble. [VG][GF]) - OK super pleasantly surprised by the flavors on this. I was like corn with blueberries?? This was definitely a savory dish and quite good. *Fried Chicken Sandwich (Thai fried chicken thigh on griddled brioche withpapaya salad, sweet chili garlic, coconut milk ranch, pickled jalapeños, peanuts, and cilantro.) - This was my main and if you're going to get anything, get this! Perfectly fried and crispy chicken thigh with Thai spin. Yum. *Green Curry (Spicy coconut milk curry with fried HiO farm koginutsquash, lime leaf, Thai basil, golden raisin, and fried shallot. [VG]) - Compared to traditional Thai Green Curry, it's not as soupy. We didn't find that we needed the extra rice we ordered on the side, it's also basically like tempura squash on the top which is PLENTIFUL so you'll be full. *Grilled Short Rib (Korean cut short rib marinated in turmeric spicedsweetened condensed milk, charcoal grilled and served with peanut curry and marinated cucumber and shallot.) - If you can't handle spice, this is the dish to get! Because of the hard sear on it, I expected this to be tough BUT it was actually very tasty and well cooked. Super creative cocktails but not my favorite I've had in town, but still definitely worth a stop! *Beyond the Pines (Stirred - Rich, Autumnal, Savor y, Baking SpicesKnob Creek Rye | Laird 's Apple Brandy | Yellow Char treusePinecone | Angostura | Peychaud's | Smoked Pear) - I mean this had a baby candied pinecone! So. Festive! *Root Old Fashioned (Graham Cracker Infused Bourbon | Rye | Cacao |Angostura Bitters | Smoke) - really solid old fashioned. can't say i could taste the graham infusion but hey, not complaining!

I have only been here once for salsa dancing on friday nights and I just couldn't get into this place. Granted, this club is definitely nicer than most of the clubs that I've been to in royal oak but the salsa dancing here just seems so blah compared to cantina's (which is now closed ). The vibe seemed more like people trying to look good and stand around instead of actually dancing. Maybe I just went on a bad night? I'm not sure but I'll give this place one more try before I say no forever to scl royal oak.

Super cool venue - by day it's a coffee/works space and record shop and by mid-day and night the bar and dancing begins. Local and international DJs are spinning every week and there is usually a food truck out front if you get hungry. You could literally spend all day and night here ! I stopped through midday to checkout the record store and they have an incredible selection of new and used jazz, r&b/funk/soul, rock and especially electronic music. There is a special section within each genre that highlights past and current Detroit artists which is an added plus. and a special section specifically for Detroit. The best record shop I found in Detroit but will be checking out others.

Dark bar with a fun beat! Enjoyed some strong long islands and enjoyed ourselves for a bit. The entrance was very easy to miss and you walked down some stairs and into an underground area that was very dark and loud. I loved it.

"A very interesting establishment! They have a good selection of burgers/sandwiches and appetizers. I would stay away from the chili. Way too heavy/greasy.Unfortunately the bartender was too busy socializing and it was very challenging to get her attention. They appear to offer music throughout the week as well as trivia on Thursdays. They also have a pool table and darts.Parking is plentiful.I'm looking forward to visiting again. Many folks were mentioning that the ribs are fantastic!"
"We had reservations for a party of 6 and a blast was had by all. There is no food here but we did see a few tables bring in food off their own. The live music was entertaining and the establishment was clean and inviting. Our waitress was on point and was sure to keep our water glasses topped off with we were very thankful for. Drinks were delicious. We saw several parties enjoying the large punch bowl offerings which looked like a-lot of fun. Check the website for who is playing and when. We didn't know the band but we knew the genre. Order tickets ahead of the show to save a few dollars per ticket as prices vary."
"Long before Boogie became a cougar hang out, it was actually a really fun place to go dancing with friends. I've been here so many times for girls nights out as well as bachelorette parties over the years. It seems to be a favorite stop for bachelor parties in the fancy limo, right? There's lots of good memories dancing around this place over the years and decades. So many laughable memories. This is a good place to make memories that you either want to remember or forget. ;)"
"From the team that brought you Apt Disco, comes a downtown subterranean dance club, Low Key. True to the name, it's definitely low key compared to more glitzy and garrish clubs (e.g. Boogie Fever): it's dark and it has a nice cement dance floor. There's also ample space to sit and it's accessible as they have an elevator, though most people would just take the stairs. The drinks are well priced for downtown but if you're looking for a specialty cocktail, this is not the place. I usually just get a vodka soda and add a lemon packet to it. Bonus points that they have American Vodka as a well if you, like me, would like to never drink Tito's again. It would be wonderful if they could stock the Deep Eddy flavors, save me from having to bring flavor packets. Last night they did have a speciality cocktail, a take on a Bees Knees, which was good, though a little sweet for me (my friends who like sweet really liked it).Because it's downtown, I don't go as often as I would to a neighborhood place. Also, only open Fridays and Saturdays. Check their insta to see what's going on, we've been here a couple times for Disco Daddies but they have DJs usually. While Detroit has no shortage of dance clubs, Low Key occupies a very specific space and vibe so it's well worth visiting regularly. See you on the dancefloor!"
"Nice little spot to go to for the girls night out events lol. The only thing I thought was weird about this place was that they make you pay for water. I also feel like this place looks much more like a bar than a club. I would go back if I felt like going to another girls night out event. I had a blast and the workers did a great job with the crowd."
"I came here for a $40 at-the-door Movement party, and there was a wait for people who had pre-paid. I mean, really, what's the point? The floors are sticky, the bathrooms are gross, and the smoking areas are really, really disgusting. However, I suppose that adds to this old hotel's charm. Paint is peeling everywhere, and there are little coves for shenanigans. The larger, main space for music is pretty epic, though there's a rather narrow area to enter and exit it from, so it causes quite a bottleneck and lots of pushing.Definitely not my favorite music venue, but it was quite memorable."
"Classic Detroit Techno in a great outdoor space. From the patio of TV Lounge you get Detroit Skyline, space, air, and all the Techno that I want. This place delivers for the $10 cover with a reliable show and atmosphere that you can simply count on to make your night. Keep the dream alive, TV Lounge."
"So after the disaster that's Necto, me and my friend walked to Live and didn't wait in line too long (this was before 11 pm so that's why the line wasn't bad yet, keep reading). The club is WAY nicer than the first place and we were ready to finally have some fun. Problem is, this place is way too small for the amount of people that were in there. We literally couldn't even move and its not really enjoyable to "dance" when you have no space to even breathe. I couldn't believe how packed this place was!! We decided to go to a bar because my friend was getting claustrophobia from the craziness and as we left, the line was literally a mile long at midnight!! Clearly this club is poppin but please move to a bigger building so we can all enjoy it and have some space to breathe!! I would personally go back because overall it wasn't a bad club but it's just super busy on saturday nights so be prepared to get there early or not get in at all."
"This is place is like night and day depending on whether it's packed like a sardine can or elegant in it's sparsity of patrons. I was here on a Friday night from midnight to 2AM and it was so packed shoulder to shoulder, there was the classic line to get into the sticky, wet bathroom, and drunks were pushing through crowds and bumping into each other to get through. The crowd is cool - typical Royal Oak good looking folks - but it was so packed that it was hard to notice that it's normally a nice place.I went here for a private event on a Wednesday evening from 7pm and I could actually notice the Gothic elegant decor and chandeliers, the intimate booths and lounge areas, the TVs placed just the right places, and of course the inviting bar. All in all, I feel that this place is a more clubby and loud chaotic place in the nightlife hours on Friday and Saturday, and in the normal evening and after work hours it may be a little more tame, clean, and swanky experience. If you are undecided as to which flavor you'd like better - maybe go for an in-betweener time segment such as Thursday 10pm-midnight - that way you can have a middle point and see whether you like it busier or more sparse!"
"29 Park is always a fun time if you're letting the Long Islands and Cranberry Vodkas flow. They play dance/pop/EDM on Fridays and strictly Hip Hop/Rap on Saturday's so pick your poison. Mark is the man and he always takes care of you. Although it's extremely crowded, everyone their seems to be hanging a good time and isn't worried about what you're doing, so go, let loose and have fun."
"Fun night out. Lovely rooftop with great house music on a Sunday night! The only downside was that we had to travel back downstairs for the bar because the one on the roof wasn't open. There's plenty of space in here and you'll have a great time and enjoy the atmosphere."
"I got to meet the owner. He was very accommodating to the Swank Deco Fashion Show that was held there last week. and the employees were SUPER helpfull. they even assisted me and the other models when they were tackling the whole event up stairs too!!!. Waitress Made sure I got a well needed drink since I had to help with a few no show make up artist and hair stylist!!!The Bar tended to me along with the crowd while we had some models who had some 10 second outfit changes to do.Bottom Line. Not only would i recomend this venu to any place looking for a club or show or just to party your ass off!!!!But with a top noch Owner and waitresses and bartenders who any bar would KILL TO HAVE.THIS IS MY NEW NOMINATED GO TO DOWNTOWN NIGHT CLUB!!!Thanks Again Bleu!!! I look forward to comming back!!!"
"Orchid is a great spot when you have those nights where you just want to get out and dance. Some nights I'll just people watch with friends and then the other nights I'm Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing. It's usually a $5 cover to get in and coat check only costs $1( and of course they accept tips because at this point who doesn't).They have one of the best drink specials around with their $2 you call it's until 11pm, which in a nutshell means that about 85% of all their drinks and shots are only $2 until 11, and the DJ calls out drink specials after that throughout the night. The music switches back and forth from hip hop to EDM and back to hip hop all throughout the night. Now you NEVER know what you're going to see here. For example, last time there was a man dancing with a walker and you just don't see that everyday! But everyone was having a good time nonetheless. In the summer they open up the up the patio and they have a separate bar outside and every night before the close they give away free pizza! Super fun place all around."
"Three words for first timersPolo Con Camarones. You will not be disappointed! When I'm downtown that is my dinner spot !"
"Great venue for local and touring EDM/Electronic shows that supports local talent. Reasonably priced tickets and drinks. Great location."
"Fabulous!!!Exactly what we all need as we head into the autumn of COVID Fully outdoor bar and food truck experience, complete with onsite Blake's cider mail shop: pumpkins, donuts, cider, pies, etcWe are coming back tomorrow to try another of the food trucks. Today we bought from The Soup Lady: pumpkin soup with pretzel bite topping ($5) and chill/Mac & cheese combo ($8). Both were like your grandma made them!!!! So good!!!!I spent $61 on things I didn't need from the Blake's tent but I never pass up an opportunity We had the dogs in the car so I carried everything out but it is just lovely with the river view, haybales, patio tables and umbrellas!Love itAnd we took a great walk along the river trail beforehand as wellComing back tomorrow for taco truck or pizza and bar service! Really nice ppl working as well.Food trucks take cash or Venmo. Blake's takes cards. Wear a mask unless you're seated! (Don't be a jerk and make them tell you that.. they didn't create the state mandate)"
