"Birmingham and so many cute little restaurants and Commonwealth Cafe is no excepton. I've eaten brunch here twice during my last few visits and, based on the line, it seems to be a pretty popular spot. My brother was the lucky one to wait in line this last time while we took his little ones to play outside...there were a bunch of other little ones outside for them to play with as their family members waited in line. I enjoyed an iced latte (a must!) and some sort of veggie omelette. It was super fresh and tasty. I would definitely be a regular if I lived in the area. Instead I'll continue to be a regular when I visit my brother and friends who live in the area!"
"The desserts here are amazing. We stop here every time we go to the greektown casino. The employees are always friendly and hustle when it's busy. The interior is clean and tidy."

"Ok. Gave it another chance. This time my son and I visited. Service was good. We started with plantain chip appetizer. Food was delivered hot and delicious. I spoke to Nadia, the owner, whom I had earlier shared my disappointment with my first visit. This dining experience was much better."
"Very cute and trendy place in Troy! Went this past weekend but they were understaffed and the 3 people working there were very sweet and kept us updated if anything was going to be delayed. I got the shrimp and chicken tacos which were flavorful! Unfortunately the tea latte was a little cold but I think it's because our waiter also had to make all of ours and just got delayed since it was busy so definitely not her fault. There is a cute fireplace area and a separate room to rent out for private events. Definitely would go back next time I am in the area!"
"I have been here a few times and it's such a great spot with delicious coffee, and a variety of pastries and food items. The service is great, the staff is helpful and the cafe is clean. It's a good place to get work done, there is a lot of seating available and most of the times I've been here the majority of customers are studying or working. I recently got the mocha with cinnamon and wow it was excellent. The latte art is beautiful, the drink was creamy and the chocolate was rich. This is definitely a go-to spot for hanging out, doing work, and having a great drink and/or pastry."
"Roasting Plant is a quaint shop that is great to get work done or do some people watching of scenic Campus Martius. The coffee is usually hit or miss but what makes it worth it is the employees who are always so patient and sweet. They do have a vegan breakfast burrito that has saved me more times than I can count on a busy morning. I'm not a super huge coffee person and usually get a chai or ice tea so it's worth trying for yourself."
"Always been a fan of these donuts! The staff is always very friendly and welcoming. Got these for Mother's Day."
"A great European cafe' feel! After spending a good chunk of the summer in Spain and Argentina , I've been missing the little cafes and coffee shops I would go to daily. With friendly workers who know your name, pastries made on site and coffee/tea that makes leaving your kitchen worth it.... I feel that vibe here. The food was delicious - all made on the premises. It was fresh!I had the Chi Tea Latte and it was that right balance of tea to spice ratio. I don't drink coffee, so can't comment on that The space has a nice open feel to it, bright and comfortable for a solo person like me or a group of people looking for collaboration / connection Overall, it feels great to now have my cafe fav little cafe again. No passport required"
"World class coffeehouse & roaster. They roast themselves, single origin! And pastries from one of the top new bakeries in Detroit. They make their own syrups, for those who have not yet advanced to drinking coffee on its own.UPDATE October 2023: The Ethiopian Sidomo is one of the best coffees I've ever had, and I buy from the best roasters in the country. I always keep a bag of Red Dot around the house!TWO SUGGESTIONS:1. The pastries from Canelle's are fantastic, BUT for those who don't eat meat, we only get one savory option: plain croissant. I'd buy more if there was a cheesy option without the meat.2. Offering Colombian and Brazil as the only pour-over options is not much of a choice as they are so similar and so bland. Would be nice to switch one for Ethiopian, Kenyan, Guatemalan, etc."
"I met up with a friend here before going to Aahar next door. My friend got the Karak tea and specialty bun and he was quite pleased with it. I got a chai tea latte and a Cinna-Bun and it was delicious. This place is usually rather busy and this was one of the rare occasions that it wasn't packed, so I was happy we were able to find a table. I will definitely come back again for a bun and tea."
"Perfect. Flavors, portion, quality, price are simply perfect. This menu is quality everything. Their attention to detail is amazing and well executed. Breakfast and lunch hours only. Small outside seating area. Great cafe interior for all size of parties. They cater and are right downtown. The service is so friendly and seem actually happy you are there. Mediterranean salad (order w dressing on the side and add bacon *chef kiss*) Thai peanut wrap, grilled cheese with bacon, tomato basil soup, avocado toast w poached egg are all my suggestions. So good and consistent. I sure hope they stay around. Check them out and you'll see why."
"Good service and tasty coffees. Pretty much pedestrian breakfast plates. Place is smaller than the pictures lead you to believe. Uncomfortable seating. I felt that I spent a lot of money for what we got."

We come here a lot since my fiancé works down the street and one thing never changes, just how good this place is! They have service and ordering down to a T. They are fast and friendly, the food is just amazing and the C-latte is to die for! Don't be fooled by a small on the outside looking cafe, this place gets packed! During the summer they open the windows and patio is in full service. I highly recommend coming here with friends for brunch!

A random stop for dinner. I never heard of this place but saw it a few times driving by. I had the lamb shank mixed rice beans and corn salad. It was delicious, the meat fell off the bone. Very cute place. I love the color combo. The server was very excited that 6 tables had been new patrons this evening. Definitely will be back.

Atomic is a RO staple, open late so that any work or meetings or conversations can happen with your cup of coffee in front of you. With that being said, it is always packed and fighting for a table with isn't really my favorite thing to do. They do have some fun flavors and would recommend a latte as their coffee tastes a little bit burnt. I got a matcha the last time i went and it was made with a lot of care and they didn't overpower with too much sweetness

I loved my cardamom rose latte here!Lots of coffee choices. A coffee lovers dream! Fast and friendly service and good vibes. Located in a cool, older building in historic downtown Detroit. The location is great, near the town square, Campus Martius. Comfy seating options available but it feels like more of a carry out place. It felt like a narrow space to me because there is a large coffee display in the middle. It looks really cool but makes the space feel smaller to me.I'll definitely stop by and get more coffees to go.

While this donut shop is adorable, the service definitely lacks. While we were there, we attempted to order a Montecristo and Clary told us that it would take "at least 20 minutes". I could tell that she didn't want to make it. When we told her to go ahead that the time was fine. She did go ahead and make it. LESS than 20 minutes later, when she handed it to us, we asked if they had a plastic knife so that we could cut it in half because my sister and I were sharing it. We were told by her that they did not have a knife. Then we asked her if she could cut it in half & she said that they didn't have a knife in the back and they couldn't cut it in half either. When I questioned the fact that they didn't have a knife in this whole facility she just said that she couldn't cut it because she had already handed to us. Insane.

Great little coffee shop, the spicy breakfast burrito is amazing. I have always had friendly customer service and prices are better than many of the big coffee shops. They have ample seating and a nice clean place to work on your laptop or just hangout with a friend for a few. I will continue going here most of the time I'm not making my coffee at home.

"Really good ice cream shop located on the north side of 12 mile Rd between Middlebelt and Orchard Lake. This shop is tucked away in a small corner of a strip mall and is easy to miss where you definately need to be purposely looking for it as it will not jump out at you if passing by.Relative to their Ice cream they carry an assortment of Premium Guernsey Ice cream which I am a huge fan of where few ice cream joints in Metro Detroit carry this brand. That in itself makes this ice cream centric business stand out from their competition and worthy of a trip here in and of by itself. Prices for the ice cream are fair and in line with other hand scooped premium ice cream parlors. Besides the ice cream, this business carries there own house label of coffee that is locally roasted and unique to this business which is quite good and flavorful in its own right. Other products served here include a full lineup of coffee drinks, assorted pastries, breakfast/lunch sandwiches, soup and an assortment of fresh salads. Relative to service, the husband and wife owners were tending the counter while we were there where they were super friendly and very accommodating as they let us sample multiple flavors of ice cream before we settled on the final flavor. Relative to the business itself, it is bright and clean inside with two outside dining areas. The outside dining areas have quite a few tables available where the rear outside dining area is covered which is definately something to keep in mind during rainy days.Overall we were quite pleased with all aspects of this business and definately would recommend this place for all the stated reasons especially if you are aware of Guernsey products and are as big a fan as I am of this Michigan premium brand. Definately looking forward to my next visit here where I will be sampling their Guernsey based milk shakes next!"
"Excellent local coffee shop that has really good basics, but some fun stuff too! Lavender latte anyone? I'm a big fan of their cold brew, and my daughter loves their matcha lattes. They also have really delicious baked goods and cheesecakes. The vibe is very chill and would be a great spot to meet a friend or send off a few emails. I believe there is parking behind the building, but if not there's always ample street parking."
"Love this place! Absolutely the best latte around us. Very friendly barista. Cool design inside as well"
"The desserts here are really tasty and unique. The service was quick and this place can get packed but there's seating outdoors too. I would definitely recommend their shaved ice desserts!"
"Great little breakfast spot with unique food options. My husband and I will come back frequently."
"Fantastic coffee and friendly staff as always. Nice place to relax, chat or read. And of course, great pastries."
"Lovely, downtown Northville location. Easy to walk to, and has a great place to eat out front. Top notch, really. But lets talk about the fact there's no pricing anywhere in the place. The menu, neatly scrawled on a blackboard, contains no prices (and is near impossible to see because spotlights shine so brightly you can't really see the board until you're right up to the counter). When you order, you just kind of hope it's not going to cost an arm and a leg, I guess. Or you're already supposed to know.Second, the place was so loud, we couldn't hear them when we ordered. It was nice to see the receipt immediately to finally get a price, and also see they got our orders correct. However... I ordered a strawberry basil lemonade (which was actually the best part of my visit. It was fabulous!) Yet, I never saw it until later. 25 minutes later, my sandwich was delivered... incorrectly made. Alas. It was a breakfast BLT. I asked for it without mayo, it was delivered liberally slathered with mayo. Which I suppose is fine for some folks, but not what I ordered (or was on my receipt). So I returned it. When it was corrected, the new sandwich was brought to me, placed on the table, then the waitress ran back and I had to flag down someone/ANYONE on the staff to tell me where my lemonade was. I guess they just left it at the front counter... which I suppose was where they "always" do that, but... could have said something before then, maybe? That was an excellent strawberry lemonade. I'd come back JUST for that, really. My friend has the Brown Eye Betty, which he said was great. We both enjoyed the food, and the ambiance too. In the end, it just felt... very chaotic, and I kind of felt like I was in that Seinfeld episode with the Soup Nazi. Not the rudeness, but the expectation that you know ALL the inside tricks on how this fancy, lovely looking building and restaurant work... but they don't bother to tell you."
"I finally paid a visit and it went great. Cute and simple cafe to just chill and hang out with friends and families. The drinks I got were all good! There were so many choices to choose from the menu. I have yet to try the desserts and food so that will be on my list to try when I head out that way again. What I also love was that it's kids friendly because they have a section in the cafe for cardboard games for kids or adults. The kiddos loved it and couldn't stop playing them. They were more excited about the games than getting their bobas. Definitely recommend!"
"I stopped by City Coffeehouse on the morning of a job interview. Free street parking was available and I was able to park right outside the front entrance. City Coffeehouse seemed like a regular with the locals for its friendly service and cozy environment with lots of comfortable seating and outlets. A cup of tea and a warm cheese croissant were just what I needed to calm my nerves and fill my tummy. I went to my interview after City Coffeehouse and later got the job, so now I see this cafe as a lucky spot and will return!"
"The Döner was a bit on the salty side.... Next time I'll ask for less meat and more veggies. The bread it comes in was soft and delicious. The service quick and friendly. We will definitely be back."
"Great breakfast / brunch spot. The food is well prepared. The service is wonderful. The noise level is low enough to have a conversation."
"Cute macaron shop in downtown Ann Arbor. We bought their standard pack of 6 for $15. Service was very friendly as well."
"I really like this bakery and whenever I visit the Kroger nearby and drop in and pick up something sweet! The staff here are very helpful and will answer any questions you have regarding taste or allergy to the best of their knowledge. I mainly come here for their carrot cake but always end up leaving with a few more slices of something! Especially their fruit flan and lemon bars. In addition they have wedding cakes, cookies and other types of pastries to choose from. The next time I come back I promised myself to grab a few cheesecakes I've had my eye on!"
"My friends and I came here to specifically try out their coffee flight! I'm a traditionalist when it comes to my coffee, so I was on the fence about all of the different flavors, but there was not a flavor that I didn't like! I was most skeptical about the lavender, but it was very mild! My daughter loved their hot chocolate! The workers at the front counter were patient and helpful while I made my decisions. The shop is spacious, and the decor is fresh with beautiful murals on the wall. Plenty of parking because they are in a strip mall. A nice place to stop in and catch up with your friends!"
"The food here was so good and freshly made! Adel was so friendly and helpful when we were deciding what to have. The cafe is clean and relaxing. A great place to grab a healthy lunch or dinner. I will be visiting again!"
"Best mocha I have had in quite some time. Little shop in the Eastern Market area, great to stop before or after walking through the market to get hot drink to warm up. Staff was friendly and served up the coffee promptly."
"I love their drinks here. I also love that the servers give it a friendly small town feel. I love the bookshelves and old timey feel the place has. I sure hope the place stays open. I love how quiet yet relaxed this place is. This is a great place for an introvert to go to."
"This is absolutely one of my new favorite places in the Metro-Detroit area.I'm almost afraid to write this review because I don't want to ruin it. When we first arrived, it was simple enough to get in line, place our order, and find ourselves a seat. The atmostphere felt lively without being too packed or slow. It balances that vibe of fast-casual: you place your order at the front and then seat yourself. They'll bring the food to your table. The food itself just made my stomach sing. I really wasn't sure what to expect, but the Lahm Sigar with the freshly baked bread aboslutely hit the spot. The eggs were also fantastic, though personally the Sigar was more my style. Still, it's hard to imagine this place striking out otherwise. I'm genuinely so excited to come back and try something new... but also reorder the lahm sigar. Decisions. Decisions. My friend and I can't wait to come back here, bringing all our friends with us too."
"The best thing about this place is that they're open late! Sometimes they take a bit to prepare your food but it's worth the wait! I love their crème brûlée! They put fresh fruit on top. I've also tried their macarons and rolled ice cream! Both were amazing. Very clean inside with plenty of tables! They also have a little section with exotic snacks and drinks that you can buy!"
"I've been back a few times since my first visit last year and it keeps getting better. I'm not sure if I noticed it the first time but I do love their walk up ordering window (perfect for when you're sitting outside enjoying a beautiful fall day and don't want to give up your seat by going inside to get another beverage) and they've zhuzhed up their indoor menu with TV screens, which is fun. What to do when you're feeling the fall seasonal flavors but it's also 70 degrees outside in October? Ask for a seasonal syrup on your cold brew, of course! I opted for that and enjoyed a delicious pumpkin spice cold brew. FYI the spice is very clove forward. I happen to love cloves but just a heads up if it's not your bag. Great selection of Brown Dog creamery ice cream and donuts from the Looney Baker!"
"Royal Oak Roast is nothing short of amazing! Andy, the manager is incredible! The staff is welcoming and fantastic! I recommend all of their drinks! The food is incredible, It literally looks like a work of art! Thank you fir your service! You guys are the absolute best! I am attaching a picture of Huevos Rancheros!Warm Regards,Vivek Nayak"
"Fresh, delicious food that hits the spot. Coffee was good too! It's nice to eat outside right by the market as well."
"Really good quality bagels, pleasant staff. Well run with little to no wait any time. You can pre-order, too. Could be the best bagels around and I know bagels"
