Jay P. "Exactly what Richmond needed! Quality brews and friendly atmosphere. The blonde beer was delicious and light. I normally do not care for shandy beer, yet the gentleman drinking it next to me recommended it. I gave it a try (at the great price of $5 a beer!) and it was amazing. Stardust Shandy is brewed with actual lemons and not oils. You can completely taste the difference in this shandy compared to others. I'm a shandy convert now... limitedly to this brewery. My husband is a fan of their red and IPA. Honestly, we've tried all their beers and each was fantastic. Grab yourselves a pizza and head over to Starr Craft Brewery. (Tip: no food service but you can bring in food)"

Most people sit at the bar area, and I got to meet a lot of cool people. Kevin served us and he was on top of his game. He was taking time talking to each person, while running around and serving everyone. I was impressed with how fast he was, especially because he was doing it himself. It wasnt extremely busy, but the bar had a good amount of people. I found out from someone there that you can bring food in if youd like and that sometimes there are food trucks during nicer weather. Overall, my husband and I had a great time with friends. Say hi to Kevin if you go in, he is there on Saturday nights. He remembers people that come in. He is super nice, funny, and attentive."

To top it off, you cannot get better nachos in any other establishment. Totally recommended."

I arrived about an hour and a half before showtime and had a sprite and some really kickin' wings. The really cool thing about the food here is it is bar food that's elevated. The servers behind the counter were very friendly and had all of me and my friends food and drink orders done in a quick and friendly manner. The brew works is a great place to see what a microbrew setup looks like in the main area by the bar. This place is divided into two parts the one part being the brewery and bar and the other side has been converted into a venue with an open bar setup so you could order no matter what side you're on. I recommend trying this place out if you're in the area for its sweet energy, great food and drinks and cool staff."

Christal P. "I've been to Atwater in Grosse Pointe Park for trivia nights with people from my high school. It's a nice place to hang out with a nice big outdoor seating and bar area. The building is a former church, and it's beautiful. It would fit right into the world of Harry Potter. Several heaters are available, but they didn't work well when a friend and I tried to sit outside last month. The fun atmosphere and trivia nights make up for some of the mediocre food. The bottom crust of the pizza we ordered was too thin and burned. The Big Ol' Pretzel is better than the pizza. The photo doesn't do it justice. It is humongous, and two orders of the pretzel were enough to split among a dozen people. It comes with beer cheese and dirty blonde mustard. The beer cheese was delicious with the pretzel. I would recommend ordering it as a shared appetizer. Another time I came here with a high school friend, we were never given menus or asked if we wanted to order anything. The waitress was well-meaning and said she didn't want to interrupt our conversation, but after an hour without being asked if we wanted to order anything, we left and went to Cellar 313 for food. Overall, Atwater can be a hit or miss, but it's a good place to gather with friends to have a drink, load up on carbs, and stop by on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. for trivia night."

Jessica N. "I love WAB's chill laid back atmosphere and corner bar feel, great beer, tasty food, and cool music. Their beers are made in house and they have a great rotating tap list and beer is super cheap too! Only $5 for a pint and $7 for a five beer flight sampler that's served on a cool half record flight board. Great music playing too like The Cure, Joy Division, The Buzzcocks, etc. The Space Shake IPA is one of my faves, not too bitter or hoppy and well-balanced with mango and vanilla. Very refreshing and tasty! The food is really good too! They offer a rotating list of sandwiches with shrimp poboy being a summer fave. They also have pizzas, cheese bread, wraps, appetizers, soup, chili, and more. Lots of vegetarian options like Impossible chili, veggie wrap, and veggies with red pepper hummus. Do yourself a favor and order the French Onion soup!!! It's so cheesy and delicious! Love it!! The pizzas are medium sized, around $12-$14, a good size to split with someone. I love the Buffalo Chicken pizza, sooo spicy and yummy!! The cheese bread you can order as a small for $6 or large for $10. It has a blend of mozzarella, ricotta, parmesan and garlic butter but was too greasy for me. The caprese salad is one of my faves, so refreshing and tasty for summer with super flavorful balsamic glaze, pesto, fresh mozzarella and tomatoes. The churros with ice cream and caramel sauce are also very good. WAB owns the Loving Touch. If you're going to a concert at The Loving Touch you can check in at WAB up to two hours in advance so you can get your wrist band early and avoid lines at the door. The wrist band has a coupon for $5 off your bill at WAB that you can tare off. After the show, your actual wristband also serves for an additional coupon for $5 off food and drinks at The Emory too. Can't beat a deal like that!! I'd recommend getting your beers before the show at WAB as each beer is $5 there but the same beer at The Loving Touch is $9. Service is always really good, fast and friendly. Love WAB. It will definitely be a pre-show Ferndale tradition."

The staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable as well as just being great hosts. We sat at the bar and enjoyed our visit immensely. The Dirty Mimosa was quite good and is a beer I would order over and over again. My wife ordered the West Village Wit which was also quite good. The owners also came in with their dachshund Calypso. Calypso is the star of Dearborn Brewing for sure! Sure Dearborn Brewing does not have food options and that is definitely ok. Know that ahead of time and plan accordingly. An IPA, a session IPA, a belgian pale, a porter, a raspberry saison, a stout, and a kolsch. I haven't disliked any of their beers yet! They're all well made, not too green, and clearly thought out. The space is wide open, the popcorn is free, and they have some games to play inside. It's a very nice place to meet for after work drinks. They've been doing curbside pickup during COVID and they are great about it. Christian C. "I'm torn on this review because I had a very mixed experience here at Blake's. First, I want to say the place looks great. There was a lot of fall decor, pumpkins and haystacks everywhere. You really feel in the Fall mood coming here as it's tucked all the way up in Almont. I met up with some friends here and we were able to grab some food and get some drinks while we caught up. Aside from the food/drinks you can order there is also cider, donuts, fudge, cookies and lots more treats in their little shop next to the restaurant. While overall I would say we had a fun time, the main issue is the service being slow. Now, I'm not one to complain when a place is slammed packed as the servers are usually doing the best they can, but we did have to almost track down our waitress twice to ask about our food and the place didn't seem that full. I want to to say that I believe this may be a thing with that one specific server not being very attentive , and not a full reflection of Blake's but I'd have to go back to find out. When we did get our food we could tell it was sitting out for a little but still warm enough to eat since we were starving at that point we just ate it. I'm still open to trying them again because we really do want to believe it was an isolated event but overall a nice spot."

Gary answered the phone the other night to verify that they're open until 10 PM and that they have dining available at the Tap room. He seems warm and friendly too. It's game centric. Come for the beer. Ordered a basket of boneless wings (12 pcs) with Parmesan garlic, a fig Lebowski with chicken instead of bacon, an artichoke and goat cheese salad sans croutons and added grilled chicken. The boneless wings are mushy and odd, the chicken tastes like it's frozen and quite water logged perhaps? Need a better source of boneless wings for sure. The fig Lebowski with chicken flatbread was decent. The fig spread makes for an interesting pizza, chicken was a good protein substitute for bacon and the balsamic gives the pizza a bit is tang too. The cheese melt is just enough and not too heavy or too cheesy on the flatbread as well. The artichoke, goat cheese, zesty peppadew peppers, goat cheese and mixed greens aren't bad either. Nice blend and mix of items. Good service tonight from Keith. He's cool."
