Fun place. As soon as you walk in your recognize if you're as old as I am. I went there for my birthday on taco Tuesday. $1 pork, chicken or chorizo tacos!!!!!! Had one of each. The pork was kind of bland though. Their hot salsa was pretty tasty. Can't wait to go back and try more of their menu. They have quesabirria tacos on the menu and I'm a fan of those things!!!

So excited new owners from our last visit a few years ago. Folks from Mexico City with a great group of cooks. They barely speak da English except the waitress born n raised right here. Only place out of 65 Mexican restaurant Downriver that still has $1 Tacos on Tuesday, carry out or dining inside as many as you want. I order a six pack, two each Shredded Chicken, Al Pastor and Chorizo absolutely Wonderful . We started with a mega Queso Fundidio loaded with Chorizo in Hot Bubbly Cheese WOWED a must try. She had a Chunky Beef Botona delicious , I added a pair of Spicy Pork Tamales Omg outstanding. They have the King of Salsa from Veracruz Mexico called Salsa Macha my favorite. They made a creamy green bowl of dip for me to try. Holy Hottest burnt da Gringo long time, they all laughing and offer me more water. If you enjoy the heat ask for both Salsa Macha and Creamy Green Sauce for a burn. Going back Tuesday to try mucho more of that menu . Came in here today, just a few hours ago, with 7 people at our table for my brothers birthday party. The food was excellent, I had the enchiladas verde which I get at a lot of places, and these were excellent. My brother had the same dish and he thought they were excellent also. The food is awesome and very affordable. But the service, based on our experience, was even better then the food if that's even possible. The waitress obviously does much more then just serve food here. She made sure everything we needed was done. She was very kind to our whole family. I really hope people come here, we were the only people eating inside but they were delivering also. They deserve all the business they can get.

The building finally found its niche. It changed hands several times until the current owner made it work. The restaurant has daily specials that are fast but really good. The nacho special on Friday is a great option for 2 people who are slightly lean on funds. A big nacho with basic toppings for $8.00 plus it's real food and not a burger? Not too bad! The restaurant itself is pretty basic and a throwback to the older Detroit restaurants on Bagley. Inside are old saddles and even a really old piece of great Americana history on one wall which the owners have no idea about! Overall, the environment is basic, relaxed, and clean. It really has the charm of a small family owned Taqueria. I gave it four outta five stars only because the food is always hot, fresh, and delicious but sometimes the dinners could be a little meatier, if meatier makes sense? However, that's an issue in many places and I assume it's a problem with cooks more than the establishment. Besides, 5 stars says perfection and I can't wait to say any place was perfect so 4 outta 5 is pretty good for a little place.Finally, we eat there often enough but tend to use the carry-out menu at least once or twice a month. The staff is really nice and always strive to ensure our orders are perfect.

I'm so happy that Burrito Loco has opened in the same location as El Herradero occupied. I was saddened by its closing. Our neighborhood is better with its addition. It's clean, nicely decorated and the staff is very friendly. The food was great. For my first visit I had the combination #1. Could use a little more spices, but solid nice food. The chimichangas looked amazing. Served hot and filling, it's a great value.I would love an addition to the menu of my beloved carne asada fries. They would make my day.Good luck and I hope you stay!

This is some of the best Mexican food I've ever tasted. Everything is fully seasoned and flavorful and the staff is always kind and pleasant. It seems like i pick up an order almost every week lol. This place is highly recommended!!!

I'm ways in search of a great taco. This place is on point. Great service at reasonable prices with quality food. I've seen some ppl criticize this place so if your lookin for garbage tex mex this isn't the spot. Loved the authenticity of my food. The hot sauce was great as well. Will def return.

After a day at the Henry Ford museum we took our 3 hungry boys here for an early dinner. It was delicious!! Tasty Mexican food that hit the spot. The birria tacos were excellent, the pork tamales were moist and flavorful. Burritos and tostadas were also favorites. A great place with a festive atmosphere and fantastic customer service.
