This spot was close to our hotel so Nate and I stopped in for breakfast one morning during our stay. We were greeted right away and led to a table. The space is cozy and small so expect a wait during peak times. They do have outdoor seating for warmer months. Our server was super friendly and gave us the rundown of ordering, which is done via QR code at your table. I really liked this option as you can customize things to your liking and they will bring it right out.I got the mushroom and swiss omelette with a side kale Caesar salad, and Nate got the vegan breakfast sandwich with a fruit cup. I really appreciated the vegan and healthier options on the menu. Our food came out quickly and looked delicious. The kale Caesar salad was so good and one of the best I've ever had. The kale was perfectly dressed and flavorful. I wish I knew how they made their dressing because I loved it. The omelette was tasty and everything was so yummy and fresh. I like that they use local sourcing as much as possible.Even though you order through a QR code, people will still check in with you and refill waters and get you anything you need. I'm so glad we tried this spot and I would come back!

Brooklyn Street Local is an amazing little brunch spot located in Corktown. We finally got to try this spot while staying downtown Detroit. The food was delicious! We started with lattes; coffee & chai. The poutine is authentic & helped the hangover! Speaking of hangover, the hangover special was my choice, and it delivered! He opted for the banana pancakes, delicious! We will definitely be back here!

Excellent tofu sandwich (gochujang one)Don't miss it. Banh mi is only OK. No sriracha mayo?? And a soft bun? Skip. Oyster mushroom po boy is also only alright. Croquettes I would also skip. Great service good ambiance Sunday long wait time 40 mins

The only complaint I would have of this place is the seating, which always makes me feel entirely too close to my neighbors. I have observed waitstaff sometimes struggle navigating between and over tables. Anyways, I haven't sat outside yet, which I'm sure would be great on a nice day. I love their food and their lattes, but the coffee is just OK. You order individually through a QR code on your app and it comes in a reasonable amount of time!I recommend coming 5-30 min after this restaurant opens as it gets busy quickly. IMO the amount of people inside will either help or hurt your experience

We have been coming to this restaurant for several years. We are disappointed that they no longer have their homemade scones with lemon curd and strawberry jam. We wish they would bring this back. The food here caters to vegetarian and vegan options which we like. Their coffee is great and bottomless. They are always busy but have a great vibe. You do wait a bit for the food. Make sure you leave time as there is usually a wait to get in. We like to come to this restaurant when in Detroit. We will rerun again.

I had been here before and I was all ready to order. They changed the menu on me. I now was unsure of what I wanted. I chose to branch out and try something different. It was a good decision. The food was tasty. First you have to order from the app or the bar. Once seated there is a QR code at the table to place your order. What I don't like is you can't ask questions. You order, pay, and then the food comes. It's a small place with limited seating inside. You can also eat outside as well.

This small Corktown eatery was on my list for years - I will travel long distances for poutine. So when a friend suggested this place for brunch, I was beyond excited. Of course, I arrived early for our meet-up. I'm always worried about getting lost, despite an assist from Google, and finding parking. If I'm early, it only means more reading time from the comfort of my car. When the diner opened for the day, there was already a small line up and tables filled up quickly. My friend and I pulled up the menu via the QR code and we placed our order and paid through the same code. The food was brought to our table when it was ready. I ordered the large poutine without hesitation. Plain, no bacon or eggs to spoil the dish. The fries were crispy and delicious and the beef gravy was flavorful. Unfortunately, the cheese curds were small and had not had a chance to melt yet. The croque madam was incredible. I loved the tangy, grilled sourdough with bacon and Swiss cheese. The maple mustard and bechamel sauce elevated the taste of the sandwich. The fried egg was yum. Glad I made it a madam.Service was quick and friendly. We were done within an hour and noticed that most of the neighboring tables had already emptied. So, waiting in the morning might not be all that bad.

This was a great spot for breakfast, the breakfast potatoes were excellent and they easily accommodated my gluten and dairy allergy. The almond milk latte is delicious, I wish it was a bit bigger! The side of fruit was big with a good mix of fruits. The space is a little small, a casual spot but we had no complaints and our server was very friendly.

This charming book of a breakfast spot was an amazing treat in Corktown. The service was kind and attentive, reminding me of a small town cafe. Every single plate I saw on neighboring tables looked amazing, but one bite of my breakfast poutine quenched any jealousy I might have had. It was one of the best breakfast dishes I've ever had, blending the earthiness of the carmelized onions and mushroom gravy with the salt of the potatoes, finished with the richness of eggs and cheese.

4.7 Doris approved. Everyone was so kind and happy upon my entry into the restaurant. I was very pleased! The joint is small; seats three at the bar, and maybe 20 people inside. Parking in the back, in a lot, and street parking. I had a pork belly omelette with mushroom gravy, sourdough bread, and a side salad. It was outstanding. The coffee was also yummy. Cream was cold and I could tell it was freshly made. The total price of my brunch was around 20 dollars (with tip) so my meal was priced well. I recommend and I know you'll enjoy!
