Berkley Coney Island

Open late, decent food, but poor customer service... So happy to find someplace open late. But... what they fail to say is that the hours depend on the staff's mood. I called recently one Saturday night just before 2am and was told they be open until 4am with sit down service until 3am and carryout for the last hour til 4am. I arrived only to be told that I couldn't sit down (even after being told I could in the phone) and could only order takeout. I would've placed my order during the call if I'd been told this in the first place. I place my order and sat at the counter to wait among the other guests who were sitting at the counter dining in. The server who took my order went on to say that the change in hours was due to one of the other servers being "in a bad mood tonight" and another server having called off. The server who was in a bad mood even started to shut off the lights at 3am as a signal to customers to wrap things up. The food (a grilled chicken melt and club sandwich) and was decent.If you have a late night craving and don't mind a side of attitude with your order, check them out.

I had grown up eating Coney Island my whole life and this place is not it. The service wasn't amazing and this place was very pricey compared to other coneys. We started with the rueben eggrolls which were probably the only really good thing we got. They were just like mini rueben and had a decent amount of meat in them. For entrees my boyfriend got the coney dogs and i got the golden pita. The chili on the coney dog tasted sweet like flowers and as if there were chemicals in it. I took one bite and was disgusted. The golden pita was pretty good especially the pita bread. They were a little skimpy on the chicken and compared to other coney islands the quality and taste was not there. Overall we will probably not be coming back to this location. There are plenty of other coney islands in the area that are much better. Not to mention all of this food was $50 without tip! I have never paid that much for coney ever.

Fairly clean and bright, the staff was fairly fast. And pretty nice. The coney/diner style food was good, but not really good. Most Detroit area coneys are better. The prices were a little high for potion size and quality.Large parking lot for the area.

My first Coney Dog! It was delicious! Coming from CA, I thought, umm, that's a chili dog. Nope, there is something about it. It's more.I think it's the hot dog. It's bursting with flavor, not Smokey, just tasty. The unique part to me was the mustard. It added to the experience and flavor combo with the chili and onions.As much as I wanted to smother it with cheese, my relatives wouldn't let me. They said, that's not a Coney!I ordered to go, but the place looked ol school diner with counter seats. The hostess was very friendly and was happy I went there my my 1st Detriot Coney Dog!

I have loved this place since I was little! I have had a couple bad experiences with staff, but for the most part they are friendly. I've lived in Berkley for a while and this is one of my favorite local restaurants, it feels much more comfy and simple than other coney places in the area. The price is also relatively cheap. Finally the food, I love the food here, I tend to get the cheese fries and/or the breakfast burrito, and it is always fresh and hot. The liquid cheese tastes homemade, and the sheer size of the breakfast burrito could be two meals. Overall I like this place a lot!

Been coming here for years very nice service!The food is always great ! They just renovated the floors so it looks fantastic. The owner is really nice.

Very nice breakfast offerings. The bacon was crisp, the coffee just ok (not strong enough for my taste), and prompt service.

All the food we've had here has been off. Ranch is watery and has a weird taste to it. Buns are stale. Prices are good and service is good but likely won't eat here again.

I've been going to Berkeley coney island for twenty 20 + years. I'm shocked over the 2.7. There Menu is huge and Anything that Someone would order from a coney island is Spot on. I'm talking Coney dogs, French fries, Fried cheese sticks, Gyros, Breakfast of any sort, Anything with corn beef on it or in it like there corned beef egg rolls. You get the jest. However, if you go into a Coney island at 3 AM expecting to play food critic you need a bigger Tool Box. You should expect exactly what you craved. Greasy, hot, crispy, alchol sponge food. The service is always fast and the water's cold and wet. What else can you ask for? I haven't even checked there scores but i'm sure somehow The other two Coney Islands in Royal Oak, where I am from have probably scored higher Based on proximity to the Plethora of watering holes. But that's what Late night coney is for. If you're looking for a white cotton Napkin and someone that Is loving life at there job at 4 AM. While two hundred Drunk people are Spilling out of their booth Going caveman on anything to satisfy that Hunger for grease and salt. Don't.Displaces deserve three point five, just on the fact that this day open all night. It's not easy like it used to be to find a 24 hour diner within a mile of your house.

DONT WAIST YOUR MONEY HERE Garbage people and even worse food don't make yourself sick waist your money and time go somewhere anywhere else. Returned all my food to Darnell assuming it was the cook and was not given a refund and told to come back in the morning he did not even hear me out. VERY INCONVENIENT Found a bone in chicken tender pita and the most cheapest wings with only fat. Inexperienced cooks and horrible attitude. Waitress Kay stopped answering after I called and complained the first time the owner John should be ashamed to call this place a homemade family restaurant when in reality its cheap unsanitary and poorly managed. Horrible environment for anybody to grab food from. DEFINITELY DISPUTING THIS AND NOT WAISTING TIME WALKING BACK IN.
