Benny's Home Cooking

The restaurant was very clean. One of the cleanest diners I've visited in a while. The service was outstanding and they were very friendly and appreciative of our business. I had the Pancake special. For $8 you got a lot of food and it was very good. They even have good coffee.

Party of six was easy to accommodate in this every welcoming place! Greeting was warm our service was great. Kids all got hot chocolate with a tower of whipped cream! For meals we had the southern skillet, coney dogs, coney fries, crispy chicken wrap, fries, burger and Philly cheese sandwich. Everything was great. Our son claimed the best chili cheese fries! While it looks like an abandoned strip mall....you'll find Bennys in the corner! Great food and great people!

Do like me some bennys! Was a little underwhelmed at first. Just a simple diner which (at this point) is practically the only occupant of an old shopping center. But the portions were ridiculously generous. Nice diverse menu offering lunch and dinner. Maybe the most decadent looking hot chocolates I've ever seen. I ordered a Philly steak sub. Not the best I ever had but goodHUGE burgers!Worth a look!

Last minute pick for a quick date after our cat knocked the big breakfast I made this morning all over the floor. This place had EXTRA good food, and wonderful staff! Extra friendly regulars who obviously add to the awesome atmosphere here. Staff was very helpful and food was phenomenal. We didn't plan to eat everything but our plates were completely empty before we knew it! Good job to Benny's. We will be back!!!

A surprise hidden gem down on the Dixie Highway in south Monroe. Tucked in the corner of a closed shopping center for over a decade packs regular customers in for great food. Couple brothers Elton and Al run the place, looks like Benny's retired. Elton straight outta Lincoln Park and the waitress too. Three of us had a fantastic meal. Grandson Pancakes n Bacon yeah he like it, she had a mega Omelette slathered with Country Gravy n Taters. Me a outrageous Delicious OMG mega Walleye Fillet I so Loved the long deep Fried Crispy Crunchy Walleye, available anytime. Actually a instant Addiction will get me back really soon. Famous for the big Breakfast, Fish n Crispy Fried Chicken. Step into 1970 large dining room spotless clean. Great Food Prices n Service with a smile, you know that small hometown feel that's hard to find. The food was amazing. The people at Benny's were very friendly and the service was top notch. I would highly recommend giving them a try. It is an excellent t example of not judging the book by its cover. Outside, it is a simple hole-in-the-wall of a mostly empty shopping center, but inside it is clean, courteous, and delicious!

How often do you go to a restaurant and you don't smell anything cooking? I've been to Benny's many, many times and found out the only thing cooked fresh was the eggs. Everything else is mostly warmed up and cooked in a microwave oven. The owner and staff are very nice, the place is extremely clean so that made a tough decision but ultimately had to stop going there. Fresh cooked food is usually cooked on a grill - cooktop. Not in a microwave. Pay attention next time you go here and you'll notice the sound of the microwave oven not someone cooking on a grill.

Nice mom & pop restaurant. But don't go for Prime Rib. The meat was a bit thin, overcooked, and TOUGH. I would stick to great breakfast, good lunch selections.
