Belleville Bait Shop Bar

My forever date and I went to the Bait Shop for a Friday night "out." We sat at the bar where we enjoyed drinks and dinner. Service was attentive throughout. Sandwiches and burgers are served without sides, so we split some tater tots as well. The food was really good and the portions were huge! Overall, it felt like a great value. The restaurant/bar is relatively small and there was a wait for a table by the time we left at 6ish. I'm disappointed that we had to leave before the live music started which was setting up on an elevated stage near the entrance. We will definitely be back for music and food!

My friend and I visited here for the first time and we were both pleased with our food and service. The restaurant isn't very large but they also have an outdoor seating area. I ordered the smash burger with tater tots. The burger was large and there was also a very good portion of tater tots. So many that I had to take some home. I always say a messy burger is a good burger. Well, this one was messy! It didn't help that I topped it with ketchup and mustard. It was a bit large and I was wishing I had gotten the junior size. I'd also prefer a different kind of cheese (it came with America). My friend got a side of the cowboy beans and I tried them. So good!! If I go here again, they will be on my plate! Our waitress was on point the whole time and the atmosphere was good. Check out their calendar for live music and food specials. Next time I visit I hope for live music or outdoor seating!

The brunch menu here is delicious! Everything we got was so good. The gravy is SO good. The sandwiches were amazing. Loved the mimosas. The atmosphere is great. The service was great. We will absolutely go back again next time we are in town.

Break in our training schedule brought us here for a midweek lunch. Cute design with staff dressed in competition fishing gear and well placed decorations. I went with the grilled shrimp and some tots. All done quite well. Shrimp were not overly cooked and nicely seasoned. Tots were crispy on the outside and soft yummy inside. Great service and popular for a reason.

This food was amazing for a mid day lunch. My daughter had a burger and I had the fish and tots. The place was pretty cool they were clean they even had a stage for a band to come and play on the weekends at night.

Super friendly place. Great waitstaff. Welcoming atmosphere. Very casual. Fantastic prices. It's pretty much a local bar first and a restaurant second. That's not to say the food is bad. It definitely isn't. The appetizers are clearly the shiny stars here, but we thought all the food was good. We started with the best of all the items, the jalapeño popper eggrolls. Creamy and rich inside, perfectly crispy shell and dipped into a zippy little pepper sauce. I could have smashed a second order. Yum.My husband wanted nachos. Chicken, of course. Huge portion. Tasty. His only complaint is for him they could have used more cheese. I had the cherry chicken salad on nine grain. I liked it. The side of better mades was good, the potato salad was just ok.We got to go for the oldsters. All apps. Super nicely packed up. They were beyond thrilled. Why? Because apps are the best things here. Seriously good. They had the jalapeno popper eggrolls, whitefish dip and pita, some spicy shrimp, and fried green tomatoes. They adored every single bite and raved about each thing.We will be back. For more appetizers, for sure.

The food was good even though the fish looks like something I eat as a kid back in the day.My wife had the shrimp and she highly recommended

A great place for a casual gathering of friends. Service is friendly and pleasant. The food is good as well. Just a great place to visit and enjoy the day!

Great experiences the previous three visits. The fourth was odd as I've never experienced this before at any restaurant... ever. A group of three ordered the same entree. The waitress advises that the various accompanying side dishes could be substituted. Order placed. All three orders are messed up. When we advise the waitress, she talks to someone and then informs us that we have to pay an extra full amount for the correct side dish. If the restaurant is so penny pinching that they cannot cover the cost of their own mistakes, I am not sure I will trust them with my food again. Seriously, how much would it have cost you to just bring over a small plate of fries that you screwed up and didn't include as part of our meal. It's to the point that I think you had extra coleslaw you wanted to get rid of and didn't want to serve fries. On three dishes. The waitress also should have owned the mistake she made. I regret marginally bumping the 15% tip, and I wish we left less as the waitress was probably clueless why we left such a minimum tip. We had gone out elsewhere to another restaurant during this trip, and one waitress was so awesome that we gave a 25% tip. So we're not cheap. We just don't like our orders getting screwed up and then told we have to pay for the mistakes.Waitress and/or kitchen makes order mistake, and the customers are told that they (the customers) have to pay to fix it, when the side order should have come with the meal. Seriously?
