Love this place. A part of me wants to keep it a secret! I've been here twice and both experiences were great. First time here we sat at the bar and ordered burgers, truffle fries and Brussels sprouts- all were delicious. Second time we came for the last reservation seating available for brunch. I ordered the Croque Madame and it was the best one I've ever had. (I've had it elsewhere since and it didn't even compare.) The only critique is the waiter was indirect about wanting us to leave. They break between brunch and dinner service, so we continued to sit there chatting while they set up for dinner. When we asked if they were closing, his frustration was palpable. It would have been a much better experience for all involved if they had let us know when we were seated the expectation of us being done and out of there by X time.

Exceptional dinner experience. Tasting menu included a lobster citrus salad, steak tartar, mushroom bolognese, main course was sole with capers, and finished with, with a thick chocolate mousse and buttery chocolate tart pastry. The dessert was perhaps my favorite course. Overall, dinner experience was wonderful and the wait staff was perfect. Ambiance is a little loud. Tables are a little close. A splurge, but well worth it.

My most recent Bar Pigalle experience was, unfortunately, disappointing. The place was about half empty despite it being a Saturday night. We came in with some friends who were excited to try their burger, but we were told that we couldn't order it at a table and would have to move to the bar (and not even face each other) if we wanted to order it. The server even told us that the rail against the window was still her section... if it's still her section, why couldn't she just bring us the burgers to the table literally 6 steps away?! They didn't offer any explanation for this policy and almost seemed annoyed we asked. It's literally their best, most popular menu item -- how is this policy helpful and do they not feel the need to explain the reasoning? Anyway, I ended up ordering the duck confit and a side of fries. The server forgot about my fries and I was halfway done with the duck before she came to the table again and I reminded her of the fries. I was almost done with my meal by the time the fries came. The sweet potatoes that came with the duck were also very undercooked and hard. The duck and cocktails were solid.Overall, just a bit of a disappointing experience. I feel like it used to be much better when they first opened. There was less pretension and they used to host super fun monthly wine events, which are now gone.Their cocktails are still solid and I guess I'd recommend it if you're alone or just with one other person since you can sit at the bar, but I feel like it falls shy of expectations for a nice sit-down dinner.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Detroit hands down. I come here atleast once a month to get their burger and oysters. Not trying to be dramatic but one of the best burgers I ever had. The oysters are a bit pricey but always so delicious with a yummy mignonette and hot sauce. All of their drinks are wonderful and their bar area is so beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. The service here is always so kind and the food comes out in a very timely manner.

Came here for my birthday dinner after having it on my "to try" list for quite sometime. We had an earlier meal since we were going to a show at Little Caesars Arena right after so we arrived right as they were opening. The hostess was very kind and directed us right to our table (we did have a reservation).First thing off the bat--the place is gorgeous. It was a bit smaller than I had envisioned it, but that just added to the charm. I told my husband that I'm pretty sure that dark teal color of the walls is the color I had been painting my office at that time and I'm honestly obsessed with it. They also have these gorgeous velvet booth seats a slightly lighter teal color and alongside the brown woodgrain of the molding, bar, decorative elements, it all came together perfectly. The meal was also no slouch either! We shared a few small plates to start, including the tartare, burrata, and frites. For my entree I selected the cassoulet special which was quite good as well. Over a decade ago I had cassoulet for the first time at a restaurant in NYC and it was SO good that I have been chasing that particular high ever since. I've ordered it many a place but Bar Pigalle, while not exactly the same as my memory would recall, it DOES get the closest. The steak tartare was also excellent, as were the frites (SO good), and the burrata? Oh man. Amazing. My husband ordered a seafood dish but honestly I was grooving so hard on my entree that I didn't try it and therefore cannot recall what it was. I do remember he said it was great, though. All the staff here were lovely. And by the time we finished and left the place was packed, so I highly recommend making reservations ahead of time. Can't wait to go back!

Bar Pigalle is located in a really nice area of Midtown and definitely one of the cooler upscale restaurants in the area. I came here for a date night and the ambiance was perfect. The service was fantastic and I really enjoyed the food. I would definitely recommend for those looking for a nicer date night!

My bestie finally brought me here after raving incessantly about the cheeseburger. it's located in a beautiful building on John R, with its own parking lot accross the street. The minute you enter, you are impressed by the aesthetic. Beautiful colors , plants and modern decor, even the bathrooms! We got a perfect spot at the bar overlooking the street. We indulged in: house salad, double cheeseburgers, frites, trout with beans, pumpkin gateau and cocktails. Everything was fabulous and the cheeseburger was worth the drive! We will definitely be back to experience the vibe and more delicious French fare.

We've enjoyed dinner at Bar Pigalle a few times over the years but this was our first brunch. Lovely to learn that they are consistent with excellent service and food, regardless of time of day. The beautiful interior is equal to the most excellent service and food. Greg took excellent care of us and our meals were of the calibre we have come to expect. He also did not judge when we chose to enjoy the brioche French toast for desert with cappuccinos after our savory brunch! Treat yourself!

Had a really good burger here. Went in right before they opened so I was able to grab a bar seat. Nice ambiance and would try again.
