Still stuck on 5 stars! Paczki day early afternoon and the place was jumping! Meet old friends, make new ones. Totally cheap drink prices. A back room, if you want to get away from the crowd. Today - rocky was serving up hot soup. Overflow from the bakery next door. Fun place !

Great Hamtramck location and absolutely should be on your list of places to check out in the city. Long time owner and great food as well. Definitely a favorite location and worth the stop.

What's not to love... great little bar in Hamtramck! Nice long bar with a fantastic bartender. Drinks were priced great and pours were good. Wonderful old school place for a beer and a shot.

Its dirty, dark, old, and comfortable. They don't carry tons of different beers but have a decent spectrum and the prices are pretty good. We met the owner Rocky last year who introduced us to a handful of Blackberry Brandy shots....What a pal! Everytime I go in and he is there he always says hi or done a shot and I'm not an everyday customer. They don't really have food, but have a deal with Amichi's pizza next door to deliver 3 dollar pizzas to the bar that can be eaten there. I was in a few days ago and it's a good place to get started if you are in Hamtramck. They have bands, but to be honest I've only been there during the day so I'm not sure what the crowd is like. I do however like supporting local places and this is a pretty good one.

I saw a review that said that this is not a dive bar. The hell you say. It is and that's why it's so cool. We were there for our third visit last night. The bartender, Angel (nice girl) is a hoot and so are the clientele. I hope that Benny, a mumbling cross between Popeye the Sailor, Clint Eastwood from Gran Torino and Dick Cheney is there when you visit. I tried to buy him a beer but he was cut off. They have the usual national brands, Michigan craft beers and even Polish brews. Last summer there was a bike tour that started and ended at BSB and they served spaghetti for $3 a plate! it was great. This is the place to keep it real and have a few laughs with some nice people. Nothing wrong with that.

We were waiting for some friends who were running late so what better way than to go check out a local bar (we were off to Polish Village after). Now, I was not in the best shape given the previous evening. But yes, I actually thought this bar was quite fun. Opening week of the NFL season. Lions are playing the Rams. It's a close game. And people are kicking back and drinking some solid beers. Watching Staffy and Megatron. This is the type of bar where you can instantly talk to all the people around you. It's a normal bar. If the drinks are cheap and it's festive. Well, that to me, is a great thing. I was only visiting, but I do go to Michigan every few years. And Hamtramck will be on the itinerary. And Baker will be as well.

This is a true Hamtramck gem right on the main street of town. The owner could be Mayor if he wanted (he actually bought the bar from a former city councilman). Cops like to drink here so you probably are safe - unless you are just too ALL fucked up and are a complete @ss hole. Being Polish is fun here - but not required. The owner organizes great "beer on the bus" outings to Tiger games, college and Lion football games, etc. I also believe they host a golf outing each year. They also host charity fundraisers here. The place is on Joseph Campau Ave. (the city's main street) however, there is a generous free parking lot just behind the place. Rocky has security cameras plus, as I mentioned, cops hang here - so relax and stay late. About 12 years ago Rocky, the owner, bought the building next door to the bar and busted through the wall - so the place is twice as big as it looks from the front and makes a great venue for live entertainment and catered parties.Just a few steps out the back door there is another fun little bar (with outdoor seating) called 'Whiskey in the Jar'. That bar is owned by Tom, former Mayor and a current city councilman. Two great companion bars and you never have to move your cars. "I'm a poet and don't know-it..." KEEP YELPING
