Astoria Pastry Shop

We stopped in to grab some sweets during our family day downtown. We tried a little bit of everything:Eclair, baklava roll, chocolate meringue, and a cannoli. Here are our notes:Eclair: by far, the best item we bought. The entire pastry was filled with cream, not just the middle like some places. The cream was DELICIOUS.Meringue: Biting into it had a similar texture as biting into a large Lucky Charms marshmallow. It also had like a hard, whipped melted marshmallow filling.Baklava: Good. Standard baklava taste. We've had better and we've had worse.Cannoli: Not our favorite, at all. I was raised on Italian cannolis and this definitely wasn't that. Not sure the difference in how the cream is made, but it was not all that flavorful.One word of caution: it can get pretty busy in there. There is a dispenser so you can take a number, but the dispenser was empty. We did have a group cut in front of us in line. Not the biggest deal, but if you aren't assertive, I could see how you could wait a long time to get served.

There's an old fashioned feel to this place. It's not very wide, but it has a long glass counter with what looks like 101 different goodies! You take a number and when your number is called you tell them what you want.I ordered a Chocolate Brownie, a Caramel Cake, a Cinnamon Roll, and this honey twist thing. I was hoping to get an egg tart or two, however they didn't have any on the day I stopped in. For the four items I spent $19, with the cake being the priciest. However I thought the prices were fair. I tried a little of all of them that night and I thought the brownie was too fudgy for me, I prefer a cakey brownie. The caramel cake was very good. The Cinnamon Roll was only okay, that was my biggest disappointment. I didn't really love the honey twist thing either. That's on me, since I just kinda randomly picked it.The service was excellent. Super efficient and very friendly. They seem to enjoy their work.Overall for me it was a 4 star review. Would I return? Yes, but if they didn't have any tarts I wouldn't feel obligated to try something else.

My youngest son and I were walking by around 9PM on a Sunday night and decided to stop in. There were about 10 people in the store ordering and three employees assisting.We waited a few minutes and our orders were taken. The gentleman taking our order was very friendly and included fork/spoon when asked since we were taking it to go. I had the tiramisu and he had the double chocolate torte cake.There were a ton of options and I would definitely return to try some other options. Make sure you have cash as there is a surcharge for using a credit card. This is a gem in the Greektown area.

The desserts here are amazing. We stop here every time we go to the greektown casino. The employees are always friendly and hustle when it's busy. The interior is clean and tidy.

This is a heaven for me! So much pastries to choose from! It was so crowded so I had to pack to go :( Try to visit when it's not crowded so you can browse around the art of desserts. I had to quickly grab what I could and all of them were so delicious! Will come back again !

The most delicious pastries in Greektown. Conveniently located just across the street. I have to stop here every time I go to Greektown. Every thing is DELICIOUS You cannot go wrong. Take a number and wait for it.

This place has a lot of everything you could possibly want for dessert. This is not a Military friendly restaurant. Plus they do have a sugar free options.

The strawberry cheesecake it does not taste good at all it taste, stale It's not worth it. $56.46 Over price. I don't recommend it.

Sweet treats as far as the eyes can see!! Very tight space and the line almost always seems never ending but it moves quickly but your reward for endurance is a piece of deliciousness. I came twice over the weekend and immediately became a fan. I had the cinnamon roll, white chocolate raspberry cheesecake, strawberry cream cheese roll, hot chocolate, an affogato, and a single shot of espresso on my two visits. I, of course, shared my items with my sister because I'm not a glutton!! We wanted to try more options but I'm sure our blood sugars couldn't take any more hits and we had to give it a rest.As i mentioned, it is a very tight space, so seating is very limited. Where we did sit we were right up next to the line so we could feel other customers breathing down our necks while we enjoyed our time. They also sell in-house made full size cakes and take orders upon request for large dishes.

I came in off the yelp search and I tried the turtle brownie and the cinnamon rolls they were amazing and fresh . The place is clean, nice and they have so many options if you have not tried them you should .
