We were here on a Friday night. We had to wait maybe 5-10 minutes for a table. We got a little high top in the bar which was fun because there was a nice crowd of people to watch. We were able to carry on our private conversation even though it was a little loud. The food was excellent. I ordered a glass of Pinot noir, lemon lentil soup and the falafel entree. It was a fun place to be on a Friday night. I will definitely be back. I'm looking forward to eating on their patio when the weather is nicer.

Today we catered lunch and it was so yummy. We got the shawarma bowl set up, fattoush salad with feta and the eggplant salad. (Get the eggplant salad!) The hummus is perfect and creamy with lots of tahini flavor, the chicken was well-seasoned, and all the salads were super fresh. The fattoush salad dressing is the best I've had, and the eggplant salad is amazing, trust me. I make something similar, and this was just as good! Delivery was on time and the staff was professional and friendly the whole way through the process. Can't wait to order again!

We enjoyed a light lunch here before the Detroit Free Press marathon. The service was quick and we enjoyed what we ate.

When we worked in the Ferndale area, Anita's was one of our regular spots for lunch. It was there that I discovered my long-standing love for garlic sauce; one that turned into an obsession. So, when I learned that another location of this fantastic restaurant was less than 10 minutes away from my current office - I was eager to visit. While this is more of a quick-casual restaurant, think Panera, than the location in Ferndale, it is perfect if you are looking for something grab-and-go. You can order the meal online and pick-up the meal from a separate entrance, which was my routine. When I first started ordering from here, I thought it was the ideal place for when I had back-to-back meetings and can only spare 30 minutes for your mid-day meal.I've had many delicious take-out lunches here, including:Greek salad with chicken shawarma - The bowl included diced tomatoes, cucumber chunks, feta crumbles, briny black olives, sweet beets, thinly sliced red onions, and a good amount of chickpeas. It was so much better than the salads that I make for myself daily. The chicken shawarma was well-seasoned and warm. I nibbled on the salad for most of the afternoon - it was that good that I was always thinking of my next visit here.Greek bowl that included lamb gyro meat served with rice, hummus, salad, and tzatziki sauce and the chicken feta fattoush bowl. The latter is similar to the Greek bowl, no beets though, with chicken. Yum and yum. Gyro sandwich with extra sauce - well-seasoned gyro meat on a warm pita.Mediterranean bowl - Falafel and meat grape leaves were served with mujadara, hummus, and tabbouleh. I typically don't care for falafel but these were delicious.I've also sampled the baklava and banana bread - thumbs up for both of them.Since the new year, perhaps because more and more offices have implemented return to work, turnaround times have been very slow. So now, I'm packing a salad again rather than eating out because of the inconsistent service (hence the lower rating). Which is a shame. I love the food here but I have limited patience for waiting.Incidentally, I liked the overall design aesthetics of the space. It was bright and spacious with good flow between those there to place an order and those there to pick up an order.

Food is not the same as the one in Ferndale, food has a weird nutmeg taste, doesn't taste fresh and the eating space is small overcrowded and uncomfortable.

I come here quite often. I absolutely love the chicken fetoush salad. The meat is well seasoned and the salad dressing that is out of this world. I can't help but to think about the oatmeal cream every time I come in here because those small delights were soooooooooooo good! I miss you oatmeal cream pie. The rice pudding is good, just need some cinnamon on top. I like the lemon tart pie as well.Get here soon!

I love Anita's Kitchen! This location in downtown Detroit is probably the one I frequented the most given its ease of ordering and proximity to the place where I used to work. The food here is so so good, but my main complaint is how poorly the food travels. Most of the time, I am carrying out from here, and their food is hot and within a matter of minutes the condensation from the food sort of crumples the container it's in as well so everything just gets soggy and doesn't travel well.Other than that, the service here is great, online ordering is your best friend, they will typically always finish an order earlier than the time you set it to for pick up as well, so take that into consideration as you're placing your order. They have a very modern, fast casual set up of tables and chairs set up inside the restaurant for you to sit and eat at, just making note that it'll probably be pretty jam-packed on weekdays during the lunch rush given its location!

The location of Anita's Kitchen is great, with it being really central downtown Detroit, only a few minutes walk from Campus Martius park. It's a really great place for lunch, with really good portions that end up giving me enough food for two meals. It's a quick place to grab food and has seating inside as well. I think it's a solid go-to place for lunch, especially if you work downtown, and would recommend it if you're in the mood for healthier food or something more middle eastern.

I can see why this place is popular - the food is fresh and fast. The reason for the 3 star review, however, is based on my recent chicken shwarma order. The good - lots of chicken and garlic. The bad - one wilted piece of lettuce and one shriveled pickle slice (not the Arabic pickle spears, like authentic shwarmas). So, I'll go back since it's a block from my office, but I'll sure to insist on inclusion of veggies.
