Al Tayeb started out with it's first restaurant in Garden City, MI. That location serves amazing food and the customer service is phenomenal, but it was a very small and cramped space. I have never once seen it empty when I would dine-in or get takeout. Since then they have opened a second, much larger location in East Dearborn. Despite the added space, it was just as busy as always...and for good reason. The food and service here are absolutely incredible. I've had Lebanese breakfast from my mom, other members of my family and close friends. Nothing in my life has ever compared to the food this restaurant dishes out. They absolutely have the best falafel I've had in Michigan (flaky and crunchy on the outside, while light and airy on the inside). Every item that we consumed was shared with everyone, which is how Arab/Levantine breakfast is meant to be done. All the food was incredible and made fresh, which is impressive since the food came out very quickly (considering there wasn't an empty table in site during our time here). The food here is worth every penny, so if you want to impress a friend visiting from out of town this is the place you want to take them to.

A hidden gem in Dearborn. After hearing so many great things about Al Tayeb I finally had the chance to try it out, and it did not disappoint! Came here on a busy Sunday morning and luckily we only had to wait about 20 minutes for a table for two. Food is phenomenal, portions are very generous, and the servers are kind and attentive.

The place is very busy and loud. The staff is very polite and friendly. The food is great. The fatten hummus with the nuts and chuck meat was amazing, the hummus was creamy and garlicky with the right amount of lemon. The falafel were good. The pickles were tangy and sour crunchy good. The fried cheese was okay. The spicy potatoes were spicy and crispy. They had the doors open there were a lot of flies.

First time trying middle eastern brunch and it was delicious! The place is clearly already popular. It was full when we got there and we had about an hour wait time. But it's next to really nice cafe that you can chill at in the mean time. The waiter gave us some good recommendations as first time visitors. The food came out super fast after we ordered a bunch of menu items. So the wait time was worth it. The ambiance is very casual and chill. It was a bit loud, but that's because it was so full. The price for all the food was very reasonable. Especially if you divide the prices between everyone in the group. I definitely want to visit again!

Beautiful, delicious food. We ordered a lot of food to try and enjoyed every bite. I can't get too specific on what to order because, as the photo shows, we truly tried almost everything!!!

AlTayeb is one of my favorite restaurants to eat at, but we only work up the nerve to go once or twice a year purely because of how long the wait usually is and how cramped and crowded the place gets. This time, we decided to go early, arriving a little after 9AM, where we pleasantly found the place only about a fifth full. By the time we left a little after 10AM, the place was completely full, with a line of people waiting for seats along the rightmost wall and even pouring outside. Just be aware that because of how busy they are, the waiters run around chaotically trying to get orders in, serve food, and cash people out, but they are still pretty overwhelmed. For this visit, we got a couple of items:Spicy Potatoes ($8.99) - These are the perfect batata harra. As you bring a potato chunk towards your mouth, the fragrance of the herbs hits you right in the face on your first bite. There isn't very much of a spice at all, but the flavor of cilantro and garlic is phenomenal. The exterior has a very nice light crisp on the corners and crannies, and the interior is light and fluffy. I get batata harra wherever I can and I have found these to be my favorite. (5/5)Half Dozen Falafel ($7.49) - The interior of each piece is super fluffy and moist with a very well crisped exterior. These are served with a nice thick garlic tahini but I actually don't think the falafel need the tahini at all given how moist they are. The ingredients are processed very finely with no distinct chunks of chickpea or herbs. The flavor is quite herbal. I found that perhaps this was salted a little too much, but it wasn't too oversalted. (5/5)Fatteh Tahini w/ Ground Beef ($15.49) - Everything comes together seamlessly in this fatteh. A garlicky tang from the yogurt, rich and tender chickpeas, succulent and umami ground meat, and a bit of texture and crunch from the freshly toasted nuts on top. This fatteh is served with the fried pita (made in house?) on the side, so you can mix everything up as you desire to prevent the pita from getting mushy too fast. The food is also served with a small cup of green zhug that adds some additional herbal notes and quite a bit of spiciness. It's a perfect accompaniment for much of the menu. Much of the spice actually settles on the bottom so you can get an extra kick if desired.Veggie Plate (Complimentary) - This was the weakest part I've found on previous visits, but this time, everything seemed to be fresh. The plate includes sliced tomato, onion, pickles and mint.Pita (Complimentary) - These are placed in a basket on each table before you even sit down. Pretty normal local commercial pita. If there was one thing that AlTayeb could improve, it would be to have fresh baked pita, but that's probably too much to ask for given their kitchen space. Hummus (Complimentary) - I love the hummus here - it's the absolute perfect blend, without any one ingredient overpowering another. In the center of the beautifully arranged hummus, they pile on a scoop of some of the most tender and delicious chickpeas, still steaming and hot served straight from the cooking vessel. I think the hummus is perfect as is, but there's a bottle of olive oil at the table if you want to add extra.I love the hummus here so much that this time I got an extra hummus for takeout. They are very generous with the extras included in takeout orders - even though I only got one item, they gave an entire container of veggies, a container of zhug, and pita.Bathrooms: Two individual rooms, one for men, one for women. Spacious if you have a wheelchair. Clean and supplied with Kirkland Signature toilet paper. No paper towels, just an air hand dryer.Everything we've ever ordered at AlTayeb has always been top notch deliciousness. I never hesitate to recommend AlTayeb when anyone is looking for a recommendation on where to eat. Just be sure to go early before the huge rush of people get there past 10AM!

What an amazing experience! Dearborn has quite the food scene! We decided to take a Sunday Brunch date to AlTayeb. It was so busy but we lucked out and were able to be seated right away. We were a little overwhelmed with the menu. There are just so many options and we're not familiar with many of the dishes so we had to look them up online! lol Yelp really helped us out on this brunch adventure. It was helpful to see other reviews. We ordered a table full of food because we wanted to try a variety. We enjoyed everything but we both fell in love with the cilantro potatoes and falafel. I'm not a huge fan of falafel, but OMG, the most perfectly fried I've ever eaten. The texture is so smooth on the inside with nice crisp crunch on the outside. I've been thinking about this falafel for the past week. lol if you get an opportunity to try this place out, I would suggest coming early.

Great Arabic breakfast spot. The service is very fast and friendly. I've been there with small and big groups a few times and they have almost always immediately sat us. Have seen the place get super busy and packed, with groups waiting outside for seats... show up early.Their falafel was extra delicious!!! During our last visit we had a small group of 5 and the chef sent out a free dish for us to try. Only reason for 4 va 5 stars is the overall texture... almost everything is the same texture, which is the overall idea with different variations of their specialty dish hummus... it just gets old after a while and make me crave a crunch.

My friends recommended to check out this place a while back. We ended up first grabbing some baba ghanouj and some hummus. I like that they put chick peas with their hummus. The baba ghanouj wasn't as Smokey as I was hoping. The hummus wasn't bad either. Maybe it's better to come here for breakfast...

Came here with a friend but only AFTER did I realize this spot made the NYT's 2021 restaurant list. This spot was poppin' on a weekday late lunch which was surprising but it was so good & great value so I can see why. This spot is known for all day breakfast/brunch-esque food. Both my dining partner and I weren't familiar at all but we made it through by watching others and asking for recommendations! We had the: *Mosabaha (Freshly cooked Chickpeas mixed with Hummus) - this warm hummus was a DELIGHT! *Spicy Potatoes (Diced potato, deep fried and mixed with our house garlic cilantro sauce.) - We SLAMMED this dish. *Eggs with Sujuk - when this arrived to the table, I commented that this was almost like eggs & chorizo! ate like it too - fairly tasty! *Labneh with Zaatar - I love love love labneh and this delivered. They also serve you a plate of pickles, tomatoes, raw onion and mint! It's fun to get creative with this and make your own tasty bites. The above was PLENTY for two gals to be very full and bring home some leftovers!
