Alex's of Clinton Township

We came out to dinner with some friends and they chose this restaurant. The parking lot was pretty full and so was the restaurant. The tables have bread and butter at each table, along with some jelly. They have an extensive menu with a lot of options. I chose the Tuesday special which was the alfredo pasta. My husband got the chicken stir fry. Our friends got the fisherman's platter and the other got some special item on the board. The portions are HUGE. Omg insanely huge. My husband ate the stir fry for an additional two meals. The food was pretty good and came on time. The waitress was nice as well.

Alex's is one of our favorite places to go. We mainly stop in for breakfast on the weekends, or dinner during the week.Breakfast: I am not usually a pancake fan, but WOW, they make some of the most delicious pancakes I've ever had. They also have the best cheesy scrambled eggs around. Dinner: I am a creature of habit so when I do go I always order the hot open faced turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes. Their turkey always tastes fresh (unlike other places nearby) and while the gravy is not likely homemade as it's similar to others, it is still fantastic. Service is always prompt and attentive.

We have been going to this restaurant since 95 when it was originally Tropicana. Family owned and run. The food is always good. Service is always good. The employees are friendly. Prices are very reasonable and you get alot of food. Inside is always clean. My favorite is the Chicken Stir Fry. My wife's favorite is the Chicken Alfredo. Very good.

I've driven by this place so many times and always seen that the parking lot was packed so I wanted to give it a try. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy, and we were seated right away. It's not my goal to nit-pick, but I did notice they asked about coffee refills constantly, almost every couple of minutes, which felt excessive but I'm happy to have a full water rather than being ignored. Just felt like maybe they had too many people walking around with coffee when it wasn't very busy? The food did take a while to come out considering over half the restaurant was empty, and it would have felt better if they could have mentioned that the kitchen was backed up. The strawberry pancakes were delicious, and my farmers omelette was good, except the cheese was waxy textured and not like 'real' Swiss. I thought the hash browns would be cooked into the omelette but were just placed inside the folded omelette, and were mushy/hardly crisp (I asked for well done). Decent prices and huge portions, not completely sold on the quality.

I've been driving past this place for years and just recently stopped in a few times to try it out. It is quite a big dining space and very clean. The staff has always been friendly and pleasant to interact with. They offer very large portion sizes for reasonable prices. Everything I have tried here so far has been great! I would say my favorite meal I've had so far is the stroganoff. Definitely homemade and full of flavor and large chunks of meat, so you're for sure getting a great bang for your buck. My next notable mention is the chicken noodle soup. It is very hearty and one of my top 5 favorites from around the area.My fiancee ordered the pancakes last time we went, and just the smell of those alone as a server walked by with them convinced him enough to order them and they were, in fact, as good as they smell. Give this local small business a try for any meal. You won't be disappointed!

Went to Alex's for the first time tonight--at 8pm. (They close at 9)We were greeted with so warmly, seated, and waited on immediately.Nobody rushed us and asked several times if we needed anything else.The other waitresses were cleaning and restocking---all laughing and chatting up the customers. Our food was delicious and fresh! We will definitely be back for more. :)

i dont give reviews much but service was average, waited a long time for food when we finally recieved what we ordered it was cold so dont know if there is a problem in kitchen but asked us for refills of coffee every 2 minutes

Super delicious food. Huge portions. The staff are friendly and fast. We usually do take out for lunch but it has a cozy dining area and old school bar. Definitely a must try...you'll be a regular by your second bite!

My Favorite restaurant in this area for along time. Lately the service has been terrible and the food takes 45 mins Atleast. I really hope they go back to what they were. At this point two bad experiences back to back I don't want to go back

Recently had Alex's cater an event. The food was absolutely amazing. Friends and family are still talking about it!
