Al’s Fresh Fish & Chicken

This fish & chicken restaurant is carryout only. Mainly a "you buy, we fry" establishment. There are no dine in options. This is a great place to pickup a meal to dine on in the comfort of your home.The staff are very friendly. As I was taking photos of the wall mounted menu, an employee walked over to offer me a printed menu to take home.I ordered the chicken wings and fries that were pretty good. The wait was minimal. Next time I will order fish.

Poor customer service. Fish cooked in old oil. Wont return. Even after calling and taking the receipt they didn't want to give us another batch of fish.

My new favorite place, they still have good prices and they actually give you whole wings!! There's never a long wait and the staff is friendly and funny! Hopefully they start to remember me by my name cause I come here a lot

They are a you buy we fry place so I expected FRESH FISH! The food shouldn't SMELL LIKE AMMONIA EVER! I took the food back and got a refund. I live up the street and don't ever THINK of this place. Nope No Thank You!

I wanted some hushpuppies the other day and discovered this place is around the corner from my office. Al's is in a strip mall with a subway and Krogers and Dollar store. I ordered up Codfish and Hushpuppies. They have lots of menu options. The staff was friendly. Took my food back to the office and ate Hush Puppies was delicious the fish was decent it wasn't the best fish I have ever had but decent. I would get it again.

Sadly my experience at Al's fish and chicken in Southfield was not the greatest. I called in my order was given a pickup number. When I arrived I was told that they didn't have the pickup number or the Order and that I did not call their establishment. I showed him the number in my phone that I dialed to verify that it was the correct number, and was told i didn't call because they didn't have the order even though I had a order number. He agreed to fill the order on the spot. I paid full price for the "order" that was never received only to arrive home to find that my fish was not flavored in any way. It was if it was thrown in unseasoned corn meal and dropped in the fryer. No salt, no pepper, anything. It was the absolute worse fish I have ever tasted. I am usually open to giving an establishment a second chance in the case that it was a bad day. In this case I most definitely will not return to Als.

I paid over $17.00 for an combo, with 2 pieces of fish and 8 jumbo shrimps. The fish tasted old, with only hard pieces of the tail (pieces) the grease was old This was my second time ordering (the first time) was great. I was very disappointed in the fish and the shrimp wasn't jumbo perhaps large size. I do not plan to visit again!!

They are so polite. And that's really awesome given how good the food is. Whenever my family has a get together anywhere nearby they insist on catering from Al's. Yes, there have been occasions when an order wasn't what we thought it should be. Al's sought to get us made whole. I respect them for all the things they have done right AND the way they've made things right. I've been going for years and will continue to.

I am very very very satisfied with this place! It is family owned customer service great food fresh this is my second Sunday going in a row and I highly recommend that you go in to see my friend Syed and tell him that Marcus sent you! You will not be disappointed I highly recommend the two piece fish with tenders I'm trying a new caramel cake today and I know it's gonna be delicious because I had a lemon cake last time last Sunday and I was very satisfied on the moistness. It was fresh and I just got a menu and took it to my friend to make sure he tries it too, because he stays right around the corner from it. Syed, you have a repeat customer. Got the worse smelling perch ever. Pro tip....don't go when they are about to close. If so, check the grease. Threw the order away
