Visited my friend again in Hamtramck and we walked this time to the grocery store. I noticed that the grocery store uses an old building for storage. Pallet wrapping boxes and garbage up and down the street. Do better

I was led to believe that this place had the best prices on produce. With the exception of a few items, Al-Haramain was just as expensive as other international food stores. It was also difficult to navigate and lacked some basics that I was really hoping to find.It may happen to be the best place to get groceries in the area - but that doesn't necessarily mean its a great place to shop.

I cannot believe I get to shop here. I go nuts in this store. I find mostly everything I need at fantastic prices and they treat you like family. And then I find things I didn't know I wanted. Everyone who works here is unfailingly sweet and kind and helpful and the stock is inspiring. I guess they must close occasionally, but I haven't ever found the door locked. It gets crazy busy sometimes but they have four registers that they open up as traffic increases and it's kind of fun to chit chat with your neighbor in line. The quickest in and out is early morning and Friday during evening prayer. The customers are all that is best about our community--Yemini, Bengali, Polish, the cops and firefighters, and little ole Irish me! You never know who you will run into and each encounter is a happy one. I've never seen anyone grumpy at Al Haramain. I tell people that I make up excuses to come here--I'm not actually kidding about that. The Greeks invented democracy in the agora and markets like this keep democracy chugging along.

Well supplied local fruit market with a deli. This store gets busy but they have a lot packed in here. Isles are a bit tight but staff is friendly. The parking situation is somewhat difficult.

There seems to be a new market popping up in Hamtramck every other day. I had the fortune of needing a few quick things and stopping here. I'm surprised that this place hasn't been reviewed yet. This place is truly a trip. It contains a full line of Middle Eastern foods, produce, and a meat counter. I came here only for pita. I ended up getting a bag of 10 extra large pitas for... $1. That's right! A buck! I've paid more for those half-sized pitas at Kroger. I'm so surprised at the pricing here because of this. They have a great meat counter that you can purchase plain meats and pre-seasoned meats. Obviously you're not going to find pork here, but beef, chicken, and amazing lamb are here en masse. If you're looking for anything and everything Middle Eastern, this is THE place for it. It's like the Polish Market... just not Polish!

Touting itself as the Bosna/Polish/Bengali/India/Everything market, Al Harmaine has many names on its exterior and many delicious delicacies inside. This place is unlike most groceries outside of the city of Hamtramck. The aisles are narrow and you have to shuffle around the other patrons while apologizing and being awkward. That being said, this place is the bomb. They have a crazy large selection of fresh produce that is both plentiful (see 7 different kinds of apples) and exotic (see the weird shit you haven't ever seen before.) Speaking of exotic most of the food that is prepackaged there has words on it that are NOT IN ENGLISH. No, I don't mean it might say it in English somewhere on the package, it's just not on there, period. I really enjoy buying a can or package of something and then trying it and seeing what it is/or trying to figure out what it is for...Beyond this they have a great olive bar, an awesome array of raw bulk spices, lots of halal meats, etc... and some really great local products like Calder Dairy.Prices are pretty reasonable for most and downright awesome for certain things: houmus, veggies, and dried fruit.A great place if you are adventurous and like to try new things and experiences. Not a good place if you want to buy Cheez-its and Oreos.

We live in Utah and the owners of this store also own a store in Bronx NY and they have an employee at a 7-11 in Utah stealing card numbers and they are removing all funds off the cards. They left my Bf $1 and we have a 15 month old baby to support and now have no money. Will be reporting to the FBI and to BBB and will make sure no more people get defrauded this way!

this store is one of the most wonderful stores in MI. Their Fruits and vegetables are fresh everyday, and the prices are very acceptable. I recommend this store to everyone. Fresh stuff and very good service. And the store opens until 2:00 am in the morning.

Very Disappointed by lack of cleanliness. Went in to get hot bread, employee insisted I use dirty tongs. I told him I am just touching the bread I am getting but they started arguing. They want all customers to use tongs to pick bread which is not very hygienic. Not very smart!
