This place is a hidden gem! The food is out of this world - perhaps the best Indian the area (holy smokes!) and lunch is only $8 - it is vegetarian though. And it's a box lunch - you don't get to pick and everyday is different. Yeah take that decision anxiety! The flavors and textures are out of this world. I'll just leave it at that. It'll be hard for you to find another places with such healthy and tasty food at this price point. We are going to be be regulars here for sure!

We have shopped occasionally at various Indian grocery stores over the years and I was surprised recently to find that there was one close to our house. I had seen the sign for Ajanta but didn't read all of the words to determine what it was. Now I know and in my on-going quest to support local neighborhood businesses I decided to check them out.At first it seems a bit smaller than other Indian grocers we have been in, and it is, it stocks a good variety of items. I was specifically looking for a Cardamom Chai unsweetened tea. So I browsed the aisles until I found tea. They do carry Cardamom Chai Tea mix but it is sweetened. They are planning to add more tea variety soon and will try to include some unsweetened, too.Ajanta also has a lunch buffet that is carry out only but not on Sunday so I'll have to come back to try that. Friendly and close by with a good variety of Indian foods and spices makes this a winner for me. Ajanta has the potential to be my preferred Indian Grocery.

Hands down the best Punjabi food in metro Detroit. I have also used them for catering an office lunch and a birthday and everyone was raving about them.

$5:99 for Lunch box!! If you are looking for some veggie munchies and south Asian spices this place is for you! My co-worker told me about this place near work that offers lunchboxes to go. At first, I was a little hesitant, but wanted to give it shot. this place was great and it has lunchbox which comes with three entrées along with rice and naan bread. This place is 100% vegetarian you can aalso get groceries here and I found the prices of those to be reasonable as well so give it a shot

Very clean market and delicious carry out Indian food. Family operated and they are the nicest as one can be. The naans and rotis are so good, fresh, and made to order. I am from Punjab, so are the cooks and I must tell you the food is authentic and cannot be made any better than this. It is vegetarian only. The samosas are out of this world. Must try the onion chutney with your meal. My kids had the alloo paronthe (bread stuffed with seasoned mashed potatoes) and they loved it. Can't say enough good things about this place. They catered a party for me about a month back and my guests could not stop raving about the food. So lucky this GEM is near my home!

This place is our little neighborhood secret! Ajanta is our new go-to for carryout. Their all vegetarian samosas and nan are the best we have had. The Malai Kofta is our favorite and it is divine, as is the Saag Paneer. Reasonably priced and extremely friendly owners. Their grocery selection is nice, too. At the height of the pandemic, they were the only ones that had rice. The fresh fruit/veg/butter/milk makes it a good place for a missing ingredient. And if the carryout is closed, they have their delicious nan available in the fridge. Great little joint for take out!

I was told about this spot by my server at CK Diggs and decided to check it out. Pleasantly surprised that they are close to where I work, so I can always pop in to get their carry out lunch (very very reasonably priced). Place is neat and clean and the folks (husband and wife team, or as they say here in the USA - mom & pop shop) were very helpful and courteous. Prices are on par with most of the Indian grocery stores. Most items are well stocked and fresh. Seems they had a steady stream of customers popping in and out. I expect to stop by once a week to pick up the odd stuff one needs for Indian cuisine/cooking.

Ajanta grocers are very good , friendly and nice people. Their kitchen is awesome. They have a delicious carry out food for both lunch and dinner. Their food is good, clean and economical. They also have a good stock of grocery items. I live a little further away from their store ( 8 miles), but it is still convenient to get grocery and dinner from the same place ,thereby saving time.
