Dengeos

This place is Great! The best gyro in Chicagoland and the rest of the meu is just good old fashioned american comfort food. Great spot for a not so fancy family dinner. Good service and very clean. Highly recommend!

Dengeos is a local restaurant that now has 3 locations - one in Skokie, one in Buffalo Grove, and now in Glenview.Their menu is pretty extensive, offering salads, sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, Italian specialties, dinner combos, sides, and desserts.We came here for a later lunch and ordered:+a Double Cheeseburger - 2 charbroiled 1/3 lbs patties, topped with mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, ketchup, mustard, onions, and a pickle+Gyros - filled generously with onions, tomatoes, and tzaziki sauce+and, a Dengeos Salad - romaine lettuce with tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, onions, olives, and crumbled feta; this is served with a pita bread and the house greek dressing; you could request ranch, French, thousand, fat-free French, honey mustard, and CaesarI was actually pleasantly surprised with the food - honestly, I am a huge loyal fan of their competitor, but this experience made me second-guess - HA! While the burger was just okay (kind of dried out and not flavorful), the gyros was generously filled with juicy gyro meat. The salad was the star, as it arrived in a huge platter - not only that, but all the ingredients were just so fresh and delicious!You order and pay at the front, and then you just wait to hear your number called out, located on your receipt.There's ample seating; receptacles aren't clearly labeled, as we found just a couple of holes near the staff section.Plenty of parking in the plaza lot.+fresh salads+generously-filled gyros+ample seating available+plenty of parking in large plaza lot

We came here for dinner since it was in the area. I had the chicken gyros and my boyfriend had the regular gyros dinner. Chicken gyros is much less greasy than its traditional version and slightly less flavorful, but it was still good.The ordering area is very chaotic, as it's a mix of people looking at the menu, people ordering, and people waiting for their order number to be called. Staff here are friendly, even though they're mostly teenagers (nice to see they hire local teens).Overall, our food was decent here. This isn't the sort of place I would expect to spend $40 on two meals and two drinks, but I guess it is. It's nice to see the amount of business they're getting on a Friday evening, but I think the prices are pretty high for what is basically a fancy hot dog stand.

The order and pickup process was easy and seamless. Food was ready as promised and pick up window was a convenient surprise. Unfortunately the food wasn't really very good. There wasn't much of any flavor to the falafel or the Greek sauce. The Philly cheesesteak also lacked flavor and was greasy. The onion rings were meh as well. I was hoping to find a place to get tasty Mediterranean food with other selections since Greek/Mediterranean isn't my mom's favorite. This isn't the place.

I do not know why my family loves this place. whenever we go back we always go here. italian beef is dry, the salads are not high quality, the fries are good, the hot dog is chicago yummy dog, but overall not impressed. there are so many other great chicago eateries like this. this place is average.

A reliable place with a good menu, casual ambiance, and good food. This trip was a weekday dinner between errands and everything hit the spot. From the Greek and Dengeos salads to the chicken gyros platter. Really like the comfy booths and fair prices here too.

Dengeo's is one of our go to favorites in the area when we want a family friendly restaurant with quick service and menu options for everyone. It hovered at 4 stars for me for a while as a steady establishment, but after a handful of visits, it's always been reliable, consistent, fresh, and has an attentive and productive staffs especially the bussing staff. Lately, our meal choices have been very predictable. Mini me 1 gets a plain cheeseburger, mini 2 gets grilled cheese, and Dad and I hover between a gyros plate (for him) and cheeseburger (for me) or Philly steak sandwiches for both of us. I may or may not have burned the roof of my mouth on said Philly steak recently, as I was hungry, and it looked and smelled so good! Variety of sandwiches, Greek gyros and chicken entrees, salads, and pasta available too. Prices are reasonable, they have a drive thru, and take home colorful balloons for the kiddos! Spacious parking right outside. We'll be back here more in 2024.

This is our first visit to this newish 2-year old Dengeos location.  We've eaten at the flagship Skokie location numerous times over the decades.  We came and celebrated the kiddos' piano recital day and had a nice casual Greek diner meal.  It's all good valued stuff and all of the selections for our party of 6 were tip-top hot and fresh.  With the kiddos, it's nice to get the food relatively quickly and that certainly happens here.  You order, find a table, and listen for your receipt number to be called.  Their menu is pretty big but also typical Greek diner.  I myself had a gyros dinner for $14.99 comprising a generous plate of gyros with fresh pita bread and a baked potato.Amongst the other items ordered were chicken tenders and fries, three burgers, a couple of gyros dinners, and a hummus appetizer.  Parking was close and plentiful and the dining room was airy, spacious, and clean.  They also had a bunch of balloons available for the picking by the kid customers, a nice little touch.  Staffers were friendly. I go with 4.49 Yelp stars.  I ask myself why not 5, and all I can say is I need to see more of their current competition to know if they're a 5, so I guess I'm being stingy on the benefit of the doubt. But they could easily be a 5 also.

Lots of menu choices at this casual eatery. Judging by the "I love gyros" neon sign on the wall, it's a pretty good bet that gyros is a solid choice.We chose a Cobb salad with gyro slices + Dengeos salad with gyro slices. The portions were very generous - we could have shared the gyro slices and the salad as well. The gyros were well seasoned and crispy around the edges and not dry. My salad was colorful, crispy and fresh.The restaurant was pretty busy with lots of groups and families. We didn't wait long for our order to come up. The restaurant is new, spacious with lots of small booths and tables. TVs were showing sports games and the TV I faced had naked people running around a forest. I told a staff person as we left and they said "That's Naked and Afraid." I guess that's a show?Now that I know this restaurant is here, I would come back for another salad or try a burger or gyro.

Dengeos is my favorite Go-To spot!! All their menu items are amazing! It's already ready super quick & is piping hot by the time o get home.The inside of the restaurant is spacious & clean and very family friendly!
