Overall Thoughts: This is a cute spot in West Town for creative Latin American fusion dishes. We made a reservation for a Saturday night, but it wasn't too crowded and you could've easily walked in without one. Though pricey (total price ~$50 per person), the portions were large and I think many of the dishes were worth the price in taste and quality. True to its name, it's decorated with a strong rooster theme throughout. The service was very friendly and reasonably quick. This is a spot I'd love to come back to on a special or splurge occasion to try more of their menu.Food I tried:- Rabo Encendido (4.6/5): This was excellent and flavorful, with the perfect blend of sweet and savory flavors, soft and creamy textures... a must-try appetizer for sure. - Short Rib Barbacoa (4.7/5): Ahh this was my favorite dish here. The grits were so creamy and meat was so tender, just an amazing mix of textures and flavors all around.- Bife a Caballo (Medium) (4/5): The steak was just okay, but we should've ordered medium rare instead of medium, which was a lot tougher and drier than expected. The flavors were solid, but I probably won't pay $35 for it again.- Abuelita Tres Leches (3.5/5): The only true "miss" of the night-- it was not a very moist cake and was strangely hard on the bottom.--Price (relative to peers): 4.2/5Food: 4.4/5Ambience: 4.8/5Service: 4.8/5Overall Value: 4.5/5

Amazing, amazing amazing! The food...simply spectacular! Service amazing. Not a single complaint. I wish they were open for dinner during the entire week, but, I understand staffing issues post COVID. This restaurant is a hidden gem in the city! It is low-key, unassuming and has amazing food! Everything tasted fresh and delicious!!! Will definitely be back for another dinner and to try brunch.

I visited Dell Rooster for Saturday brunch. We got there around 12:30, so there weren't that many patrons just yet. Right away, you'll notice all the rooster and hen decor inside - they really stuck to the theme, lol. We were seated right away because I had a reservation already. We had a lovely waitress who suggested the chilaquiles among other items. We tried the papas bravas and warm stuffed dates for appetizers. Those arrived pretty quickly, and they were SO GOOD! We also ordered the chilaquiles and Guanatos style torta ahogada, which took a really long time to arrive at our table. They had really good music playing, which kept our mood upbeat, and our waitress did check in on us. The food was totally worth the wait!! It was amazing! And by the time our food arrived, the restaurant was filling up with more patrons so you know it's good! Side tip - be sure to ask for the homemade hot sauce. I didn't see it on the menu, but I'd asked for some hot sauce with my chilaquiles, and it was perfectly spicy and so flavorful. The food overall was so awesome. I honestly can't wait to go back and try the dinner menu. My only negative feedback is that the lighting inside was kinda dark for a Saturday afternoon, so I couldn't get great pictures of my delicious food!

Solid restaurant. Be aware that service is slow but because there were literally two employees, ones who's simultaneously hosting & doing wait service & one cook in the kitchen. Many items from the online menu weren't available such as the croquettes. We enjoyed all of our food but it's worth mentioning that the chicken sandwich was a tad boring. Not nasty just nothing from the ordinary sandwich. The highlights of the meal were by far the honey cornbread & the pineapple syrup atop the French toast. Brunch for 2 adults & one child was just shy of $70 which was sort of but these days twas a steal

Fun west town fusion with great drinks and good food options. We had a reservation for Friday evening it wasn't super busy so this would probably be a solid option for a walk in. We started with the Caribbean empanadas (beef) which were loaded with filling and a perfectly toasted. The filling had a lot of flavor and these weee a perfect start. We shared a paella which had a ton of flavor and was full of seafood. Personally for a paella I really want the crispy rice (socarrat) but this was saucey. It did have great flavor just not my texture. I'll be back to try the brunch which also looks tasty!

This is hands down some of the best food I've had in a very long time! The ambiance, quaintness, & flavorful friendliness of the staff is why I'll be back very soon!! My friend and I decided to check it out for brunch. I ordered the Rooster and waffles and she ordered the Ropa pal' viejo. Both items were absolutely delicious. The hidden star was the pepper and spinach salad underneath the rooster and waffles. It added the perfect contrast of texture and acid to cut through the sweetness of the dish. The chef and manager came to our table to check in on us and I let them know how much I truly enjoyed the food. I've recommended this establishment to my brother whom visited and said he loved it as well. Don't miss out on this gem!

The food was great! We had chilaquiles, short rib skillet, sangria and the special traditional coffee Café de Olla (it was so good I even enjoyed it!). The chilaquiles were possibly the best I've ever had, the sangria was sweet but also quite tart, a perfect balance, the short ribs were good too.The place is so nice, family owned, and hand painted. Not busy on a Sunday. The server was SO nice, she really made us feel welcome. Recommended to anyone without hesitation!

This year for my birthday, I just wanted to eat a really good meal. My husband, sister, and I had lunch at dell rooster based on all the glowing reviews and I'm glad to have visited. We arrived around 2pm on Friday for a late lunch. My husband started with the mango Rico and I had a mixed juice blend that's not on the menu but they were kind enough to put together for me. Both were very good.My sister had the steak jibarito with fries and that was probably the best entree of the day. It was well seasoned and packed a lot of flavor. We also shared the kids meal pancakes, which were tasty and a lot of food for the price. My husband's skirt and eggs were pretty good, but the steak did not come to us at the temperature we requested. Not a big deal because the server brought out a replacement that was better. My entree, which I can't remember the name of, lacked salt. I didn't realize what was missing and we had so much food that I took most of it home. When I ate it the next day, I just added some salt and it was much better. So a few little missteps but on the whole it was a good experience.
