MEH. I came here back in 2009 (during my first visit to TX) and I wasn't impressed. However, I decided to try it again as they were offering Onam sadhya. Big mistake! I'm giving two stars only because the servers were nice, otherwise, I'd give one star.I'm guessing this is their first time offering Onam sadhya. They made everyone sit near each other to make it easy to serve the food (I guess...). Normally this meal is served on a banana leaf, but that is not easy to obtain. We had green paper/plastic sheets that looked like a banana leaf. At the time I went, there were only four tables to serve (including mine). They were taking a long time to bring the food out, and once they finally did, there was no continuous flow of food. They weren't very organized in general, but also when placing the food, which is normally placed in the same section/side for everyone. We had to keep asking for certain items. For example, out of four of us (at my table), two of us got bananas, three of us got the sharkara upperi; the other three tables got mango pickle, but we had to keep asking for it. I won't talk about the flavors of the curries, as it was almost non-existent. The banana chips, sharkara upperi and banana were good. I only tried the Ada Pradhaman payasam for dessert; same issue as above, we had to keep asking for spoons. I think that if they continue offering the Onam sadhya, they should have it buffet style so customers can just get up and get whatever curries they want without having to wait or continuously ask. Also, it seems like most customers carry out (vs. dining in), so they are juggling those customers in between serving the sadhya, between three servers. I've definitely had better Onam sadhya in India, with multiple servers and quick service. When I had it in Virginia, it was served buffet style, as there were hundreds of people waiting for food, so it was more organized that way.

I stopped by here last weekend because I was craving some food from my ancestors! Even thought it was a 30 min drive my stomach led me to here. I would eat non veg meals all the time at home when my mom made it but sadly I do not know how to cook it myself. You have to be mindful that this establishment is a no frills place meaning you're not here for the vibes; strictly the food. I ordered a non veg thali to go. It was amazing and I was immediately taken a blast to my moms cooking! The vegetable curries and rice were so good! I took two stars because the meat and dish sides were very lacking; I was only given a spoonful of fish curry sauce and one piece of fish. And as well they have increased the price of the meal since last time I went in November. Overall, I think I will be coming back every 6 months or so for my kerala style meal fix!

One of my coworkers is originally from Kerala and he said he loved this place so we wanted to check it out. We tried the meals (non-vegetarian) and it was delicious, they give you more if you want more too!

For a keralite, finding a Kerala restaurant that can reproduce the homely taste is a real blessing. And that's what this place is. Run by a husband and wife, the food was absolutely homey and delicious. We had a vegetarian thali with rice, sambhar etc; and parotta with egg curry. Every item was good, the parotta was the absolute best. In the thali, rice, sambhar and semiya payasam was exceptionally good. The koorka uperi could improve a bit. Anyway loved this place, an absolute find! Will definitely order from here or visit again. They deliver as well! Since its run by two people, ideal would be to call them to ensure that you get your item and go there, so that they can inform you if they aren't able to prepare it for some reason. I am including their menu for reference as the one Yelp has is wrong.

We ordered palappam and chicken curry. It was delicious as the restaurants name suggests. Food was on time, well packaged and we gobbled it all up. We also ordered biryani and it was a very basic chicken biryani, would have liked to see it more classic Kerala style with the toppings ect, but none the less, I liked it.

A small family run restaurant serving excellent food. The service is a bit slow and the ambience is not the best. But the food reminds me of India. For $10.99, the vegetarian thali comes with rice, avial(mix Veg), thoran(sautéed veg topped with grated coconut), Mezhukkupuratti (fried veg), chutney, raita, pickle, sambar, moru (yogurt) curry, papad and dessert. The concept is more like the neighborhood food mess back in India serving all you can eat food. The food was delicious and was well worth the long drive for us to get there.

This mom and pop shop that specializes in foods from Kerala, India, deserves a gold star. It's not the prettiest of restaurants, but it's homey and you can eat comfortably. Today was their Onam special, and if you ever had an Onam meal before, Delicious Kerala Kitchen did a great job. Food was incredible, from the sambar to the brown paiysum. Definitely would come back to try other dishes.
