Me and my friend stopped in for a breakfast buffet. Typically, I wouldn't say I like buffets, but they did have excellent service at the buffet that made your plate. This is such a unique place. Who doesn't like a jazz band with brunch vibes? I had the most buttery, flavorful green beans here. All of the food was great. From the grits to the fried catfish. I wish they sold a milk alternative for coffee and more healthy alternatives (such as fruit) , but the service was quick since we reserved it. The music was great to hear while you ate. I also really liked the artwork. Stop in if you are in Boston!

Ordered takeout. Everything I got was so flavorful. It hit the spot for my soul food craving. Order was ready on time and kept warm. Reasonably priced with good portions. Would definitely order takeout again.

Back at Darryl's a month later. Food still as good as the last time. Wednesday was jazz night and it wasn't too crowded. A nice vibe. Parking is scarce. I took an Uber. Caught. Seat at the bar. Bartenders were very cool. A great place to visit on any night. I happen to be here on a Wednesday this time. Will I go back? Yup! Probably next month when I visit the bean.

The Sunday brunch is my absolute favorite. I hadn't been since Covid and wasn't sure what to expect. Luckily, the experience enhanced. Prior to the pandemic, guests would self serve at the buffet. Now however, there is glass over the food and servers to plate your desired items. To my pleasant surprise, Darryl's ordered catfish strips to the brunch menu which I hoped for in years past so they have now secured my heart! Expect Live music which is a nice and necessary touch to Sunday brunch.

I love this place! Was in town for work and could not leave without stopping by Darryl's.It's been years since I was last there and I couldn't stop dreaming about their wings. I told myself I need to get them during this visit and almost didn't because I had a big lunch. Thankfully, I was able to make it happen.Denise was the bartender and she was so great. Knowledgeable, kind, and attentive. I got the Roxbury cocktail and sweet and sticky wings - per her recommendation. Delicious!Would recommend you make a reservation as this place can fill up quickly. Luckily I was able to find a seat at the bar. They have live jazz on the weekend and it's a wonderful date spot. Vibes. Highly recommended!

Great food and great ambiance. We loved the band but be mindful you have to speak up in order to hear if you're close by. The service was a little slower than we had hoped but there were no mistakes and the server was friendly. Overall amazing place. I highly recommend.

Live music was amazing. It was so great to see a lot of Black Individuals . The crowd was mixed but it was mostly African Americans supporting an Black owned business! Music was amazing.The drinks were delicious.The food was really good and flavored really well. The shrimp and grits wasn't what I was expecting, however it was still delicious. The grits were fried into triangles shapes. I receive 2. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The liquid was more soup like with celery, bell peppers, Onions and tomatoes. Really good when eaten with the mini cornbread muffins. Hush puppies and cornbread muffins basket were delicious! I highly recommend you visit this establishment. Great for a date night or a night out with the girls.

Awe-some! We were looking for food before live music and ended up with both. Wow. What a wild good time! It's the kind of place where people talk to strangers and everyone seems to be having a good time. There were lots of couples on what looked like dates but also groups of threes and fours. The music and mood make you want to dance in the aisles. Some did. I won't say whether or not I did but I can say I can't wait to go back! We couldn't get a reservation ahead but decided it was worth the risk to see if we could find seats at the bar. (It was!) When we got there, the bar was full but we were offered a two-top on the "quiet" side but with a clear view of the centrally located band -- a sultry singer accompanied by keyboardist, bassist, drummer, and at least two horns playing some sort of funk. The place was pulsing!! After the hostess seated us, the floor manager immediately offered to get us drinks, and our server wasn't far behind. The attention to thorough service kept up all night through drinks and food and payment. They do things electronically and are clearly very well-managed. I got their signature sazerac -- made with brown sugar simple syrup! -- which was so good I had two! For apps we ordered catfish strips and fried chicken wings -- both were amazing. For entree, my date got jambalaya with (among other things) crawdads!! They were out of fried chicken thighs (bummer! I'll just have to go back) so I got the blackened catfish filet with collard greens and dirty rice. Everything was really really good but the greens were especially good. Parking? Don't be silly! Uber there and back. The Sazeracs are worth it.Cover? Yes, ten bucks. Totally worth it!!Service: five stars!Food: five stars!Drinks: five stars!Ambiance: all the stars in the night sky!

Tried the burger and fries and it HIT. Well seasoned and well cooked. Live band was great too, playing a fair amount of covers. I was lucky enough to find the last seat at the bar--you have to make reservations to sit down here as it's a fairly intimate restaurant. All the bartenders were friendly and attentive and I also appreciate that they have a free coat check. I've never been disappointed here! Recommend!

Very popular spot for Brunch on Sundays. It is highly recommended that you make a reservation well in advance of the day you want to go. There is a live jazz band that plays during brunch amd the one they had today was excellent. The brunch menu varies from week to week so you may not see the same foods that I saw. Theyndo have a nice drink menu and the passion fruit mimosa I had was very good.
