Dark Matter Coffee

Want a strong cup of premium coffee, then this is your go-to spot. Cozy space with lots of colorful art work and quotes to stimulate thoughts. I ordered the iced mocha latte with oat milk and it was perfect. The server was pretty cool and my order was ready quick. They also offer pastries. I was heading to a training class for work and knew donuts would be provided.

Absolutely love the aesthetics of the coffee shop.. the decor definitely is a good conversation starter. The barista (Stephanie) is a wonderful person. She recommended an iced coffee named Cafe Miel, and it was absolutely delicious. Well worth taking a trip here

I was in town visiting a friend and Dark Matter was described as the best coffee in Chicago. As a coffee snob, I said we must go. Saturday morning we set out for Dark Matter and it was well worth the journey. I ordered an iced Latté with honey (Miel I believe) and it was perfection. My friends ordered a mocha, and black coffee. We sat inside and caught up on life and discussed the weekend ahead. The space was large with tall floor to ceiling windows, and abstract artwork. Patrons came and went with families, dogs etc. I will definitely return to dark matter the next time I'm in town.

Got the agave latte and a ham & cheese croissant. Agave latte was delicious and not too sweet with it served at the perfect temperature (not scalding but just hot enough to drink right away). The ham & cheese croissant was fine too but I wish they could warm pastries there. The croissant was also wildly expensive, at $8-9 for a cold croissant. For those two reasons, I gave this place four stars. Service was quick with decent inside and outside, and there's cool decorations inside!

A short walk from Union Station. I stopped in before catching my train. The service was great and the barista recommended the vanilla suburb nitro cold brew coffee. It was delicious and I added some half and half. The space has plenty of seating for working or meeting others.

Overall a pretty good coffee shop. Limited seating. Coffee is good but $$. Nice open, airy space. Gender Neutral bathrooms. Barista seemed a tad annoyed when I asked him about light roasts - so knocked off a star - staff could be a little more personable.

One of the best Lattes I've had. Friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere. Try the cold brew as well. It was really good.

Popped in after an appointment around the corner for a pick me up and couldn't be happier with that decision. Bright, airy space with Jason Brammer murals on the walls, lots of seating and great coffee. Plus I always appreciate latte art

Definitely a dope spot to check out! Love the aesthetics of this coffee shop and there are some spots to sit down and do work. The menu is super simple and straightforward, with various options for cold brew and nitro cold brew. I love that they order dark matter coffee, anything you pick is going to be delicious and unique! Service has always been quick and superb.

I stopped by with a couple friends this past Saturday afternoon 15 minutes before closing. The barista was helpful with recommendations and the drink was delicious. I'm glad I stopped by before heading to Union Station to head back to the burbs.ICED MAYAN MOCHA (12 OZ) - 4.754.75 for a 12 oz mocha is pretty darn good in 2024. The mocha had a slightly spicy kick after every sip and it wasn't too sweet. I really enjoyed this drink and it's been awhile since I enjoyed a mocha. It had a strong chocolate flavor and I could still taste the espresso. Solid option for sure.My only regret is not copping a bag of beans while I was here. There's quite a few Dark Matter cafes in Chicago, so definitely stop by at one of them and give their drinks a try!
