Came here on Father's Day after bookmarking it on Yelp. It's a small little cafe with about four tables inside. So it can get pretty tight & I'm sure there's wait times when it gets busy. Luckily for us we were just able to walk in & sit down. No one greeted us or sat us. Our table was a bit dirty but the waitress came with a towel to wipe it down. We ordered quickly & our food came out quickly. The reason for the 4 stars is due to the food temperature. Everything came out quick, but nothing was hot. Not even the consomé. Aside from that, everything else was delicious! We would definitely dine at this establishment again. There was a delay in getting our check. Waiting about 10mins & was just sitting there waiting from someone to come out from the kitchen. Waitress passed us 1-2xs but didn't pay attention that we were finished. Tried making it obvious but she was oblivious. So we had to flag her down. Lol. Keep in mind, the place is not big. Like 10 steps from front door to cash register. Lots of parking. But also other establishments surrounding it. So I can see it getting busy.

COFFEE! the best damn coffee. She poured me 1/2 cafe de olla which is made w/cinnamon and piloncillo (pure cane sugar) and half reg. & it's close your eyes soo good. No creamer needed. Friendly people, easy parking, oh and the food is good too :)

My husband and I came down to Chula Vista for the weekend and made a stop for a late brunch here at Danny Boy's. It was definitely an experience. We came in at about 12:30 on a Sunday, and there were a couple tables available. The interior of the restaurant is pretty tight, with about six tables and a strip of counter. There were two servers and the service was pretty informal -- we weren't ready to order immediately, so as we looked over the menu our server understandably vanished on us. Several minutes passed by and we were ready and waiting, looking around to see if we could spot her -- and my husband saw she went on a break and was eating on the other side of the room. Maybe it was just our luck but there was a lot of waiting done. We eventually (time moves super slowly when you're hungry) ordered a taco al vapor with carne con papa, the special breakfast torta, and the spicy red stacked chilaquiles:Tacos Al Vapor - The taco came first and was delicious; the tortilla was thick and super fresh and the filling was....just potato. The server must have misheard me. It was also missing the escabeche. And we had no utensils or napkins. Ahhhhh! But then the torta and the chilaquiles arrived to save the day, along with forks, a couple of napkins, and some hot sauce:Special Breakfast Torta - a massive glorious pile of protein sandwiched between their soft and toasty telera roll; chorizo, jamon, tocino bound by scrambled eggs, with a healthy helping of avocado, crema, and queso fresco. It was delicious. Spicy Red Stacked Chilaquiles - aka red stacked chilaquiles, there was not a ton of heat to these but they were easily some of the best chilaquiles I have ever had (and I am someone who has had their fair share of chilaquiles). Slightly crispy fried tortilla smothered in a warm and rich sauce is like a hug; the fried eggs, avocado, and generous sprinkling of queso fresco take it to the next level. I had zero shame mopping up the leftover sauce with my slice of telera. TLDR: the food is amazing (especially at brunch), the service was questionable. The spicy wasn't spicy, but it was super tasty.

Ordered food to go and ate it at the park with some friends. The options sounded yummy and glad we went with this restaurant. Ive been looking for tacos al vapor and somehow never knew they had some here. I ordered the chicharron prensado one. It was so flavorful and moist. The meat was perfect and the size was pretty decent. I also tried their special breakfast torta and it was 10/10. The bread was slightly toasted but it was still nice and soft. The filling was so juicy and delicious, especially with the queso fresco. The potatoes didnt have much flavor, almost seemed like they didnt have any seasoning but i didnt care for them anyways.

I typed in Chilaquiles for the what and Chula Vista for the where and found Danny Boy's. I looked at the photos and it looked good so we drove over. I had no idea what to expect, just that I was hungry and didn't want to battle the big Sunday brunch crowds. Danny Boy's is in a little strip of businesses. It is small and casual. There are about 6 tables. I ordered chilaquiles with mild red sauce and hubby ordered his with mild green sauce. They were delicious. The toasted, buttered bolillo on the side was chef's kiss. The staff was warm and friendly and we'll definitely come back.

We went twice. The first time I was blown away by the dish. The machaca was delicious as expected but so were the red chilaquiles on the side. The homemade tortilla was soft and full of lard and flavor from the toasty parts. The fresh onions tossed in a little lime juice brought it all together. The second time I had a chorizo burrito but the filling was not much egg, not much chorizo, lots of bland potatoes and the tortilla was not the same delicious tortilla from before. I had a 5 star breakfast, came back and had a 3 star breakfast. Hence the 4 stars. If you go for breakfast, skip the burritos and order a combo plate or a chilaquiles plate.

Omg, one of the best machaca burritos I had ever tasted! I bought this an hr ago, it was piping hot & it's still warm. A hole in the wall type of place, but clean. Love the ladies serving, they were very friendly. Hands down to the bombalicious breakfast burrito!Make sure you understand some Spanish cos the servers' English is limited. Will be back for more machaca burrito!

Stop looking, get up and goooooooo. This place had my taste buds dancing! We got the chilaquiles with chipotle cream sauce and it was the best I've ever had. They were a little crispy topped with avocado and pickled onions which complemented the plate. Also tried the birra tacos with consume. Shit was mouth watering deliciously good. Washed it down with the most flavorful café de la olla I've only dreamed about. My boyfriend and I already ordered in our head for next time. Trust me & check out this hole in the wall. Service was also quick and waitress was very friendly
