Food was good and service was good as well. I would recommend checking this place out when you visit Issaquah Highlands. Note - the korean popsicles are not free...

Ordered tteokbokki and half and half chicken. The flavor was spot on, service was good, the banchan was ok, pretty standard stuff. Cute decor inside, and price point wasn't bad.

Came to Danji to try their Spicy Galbi-Jjim ($59.50) with a group of 3 for lunch. For a weekday afternoon it was surprisingly pretty busy, so it took a while to get our order in. However, the staff were super friendly and made sure we were doing ok.The Galbi-Jjim is a really good size for 2-3 people, and I was surprised how full I was after. The sauce was very flavorful and had a good spice to it and I found myself just enjoying the sauce over rice at the end. The only thing is that I wish there was more meat in it. The pieces of meat in it are mostly just bone, and there really isn't much to cut out. I do think if I was a lot hungrier it wouldn't have been enough for the 3 of us so keep that in mind when ordering. I still highly recommend Danji and am excited for a Korean restaurant in the Issaquah area!

We came here on Sunday, possibly during the tail end of church crowd time--very busy with lots of kids and families. We felt lucky to have gotten a table with maybe only a five minute wait. However we were neglected before and during the meal. On the TV next to the wall our table pushed up to was a cartoon about prostitution, but with cats? There was graphic furry nudity and sex and some language that took me, a veritable sailor, by surprise. Let's say they very much used the unfiltered C-word a lot. The show eventually came to an end and we verified it was an 18+ show on the Netflix synopsis screen that idled. Next to our table was a group of moms with two small girls, both able to read but maybe no older than 6. It was really awkward as we waited for our server and the little girls watched this show with their Barbies and while their moms left them alone. Possibly need to pick more PG programs?Anywho, with the food: We ordered a vegetable kimbap roll. Except when they dropped it off at the table, it was not. They gave us and charged us for a bulgogi roll. We aren't vegetarian, so it was fine, but definitely not what we wanted. Tasty regardless. Our friend ordered tteokbokki, I had a dolsot bulgogi bibimbap, and my partner had the rosé udon. The banchan was really good. Great variety and the kimchi was one of the best I've had, honestly. The bibimbop was perfectly cooked. The accompanying sauces and gochuchang was delicious. Our friend's tteokbokki was super good, with the rice cakes perfectly cooked. The rosé udon was also very good, we had no expectations there since we've never had a rosé cream sauce before. Would get again. I can understand the service was poor because of the demands of the crowd and time of day--one of the ladies next to us (was seated only a few minutes before we were) actually yelled at our server because she had called in ahead of time to order short rib stew so that when she got seated, it was ready right away. All in all, the food was excellent, some of the best we've had, the service was bad and neglectful , the decor is cute, but man, someone needs to monitor what is played on TV....

2024 Prediction: I will be making many drives out to Issaquah for Danji.Osam Bulgogi (Spicy Squid / Pork Belly Stir-Fry) is one of my favorite dishes, and I had been hunting it down since the closure of Bellevue's Southgate Garden. I've tried many iterations near and far, but Danji's is the absolute crown jewel. The pork belly is ideal--cut just thick enough to form some nice char on the outside, but still tender in the middle. Squid cooked to perfection. Vegetables are a dream. Sauce is strong and packs a punch, as it should. The only thing to enhance it would be the option to add fried rice to the end of the meal with the leftovers, but tbh even between the two of us, we didn't have any leftovers. All banchan was superb (even the salad dressing!), and I was especially impressed by the texture of the gamja jorim (braised potatoes). I'm one of those Koreans that prefers Fresh (non/lesser fermented) Kimchi, and that just happened to be the kind served at Danji.Service was attentive and I appreciated the staff checking in on us by offering banchan refills and barley tea. There were only a few occupied tables when we arrived around 5 PM on a Friday night, but by 6 PM there was a line out the door. Plan accordingly, because it's worth it!

I'm always on the lookout for delicious Korean food, and Danji was mentioned as an interesting place to visit in the Issaquah area. We decided to We went on a Sunday around 1pm to check this place out and had no wait time to get seated. The restaurant itself is located in mall/shopping area, next to the street and a short 3 minute walk away from the parking garage. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice and open, with spaced tables and booths throughout the place. Service is decent, we were able to get our food about 10 minutes after ordering.I got the Bulgogi Stone Bibimbap, which came with a good amount of food. You are served some miso soup, some banchan, and then the bibimbap itself. The soup and banchan aren't anything too exciting, they serve mostly to be palate cleansers. Though the bibimbap had good quantity of food, I would say the flavor was alright - it's down to personal prefernce, but in my opinion the bowl had a bit too much vegetables, and I prefer a good mix between meat and vegetables, something like 40-60 meat to vegetables. But I would say if you love more vegetables, then this would be the perfect Bibimbap for you.In the end, I spent about $20 for this meal, which I think is a decent price for everything that you see here. There are many other interesting options on the menu, like the Korean Fried Chicken looked pretty interesting - if I am back in this area of Issaquah, I would definitely love to try it.

Our friend told us about Danji. They said it was really good and we should try it. We went with them and I have to say that I was really impressed. The restaurant is a good size and could accommodate our group of 10. The service people are very nice and attentive. We ordered the Tteok-bokki (Spicy Rice Cakes), Haemul Pajeon (seafood pancake), Galbi (Marinated Beef Short Ribs), Pork Belly, Budae Jjigae (Spicy Army Stew), and Kimbap (Korean Sushi). Everything was so flavorful and yummy. We all really enjoyed it. We came from Kirkland and we gladly will travel down to Issaquah to have Danji with our friends. I highly recommend it!

Finally got to dine here. It's been on my list since they opened. The restaurant was full when we arrived at around 7:00 pm on a Saturday night, but it wasn't a long wait to be seated. Wait staff was very attentive and answered all of our questions patiently. The seafood pancake was delicious! 5/5. Will definitely order that again next time. Pork belly Bibimbap was tasty, but the pork belly was a bit disappointing...it lacked flavor/seasoning 3.5/5. The fried chicken was tasty and crunchy. Liked the sweet and spicy sauce, but I am glad we asked for the sauce on the side vs. mixed with the fried chicken Ban Chan's were okay, liked their kimchi the mostSalad was very nice and dressing was very tasty We had lots of leftovers for 2 more lunches! We will definitely recommend this restaurant to our friends and revisit to try other items on their menu.

Danji is hands down, the BEST Korean food on the Eastside. This is the only Korean restaurant my friends and I go to now and we've been here at least five times. I've brought my family and they're also Danji addicts now too, even coming here twice in one week! At this point, I've probably tried half the menu. Wait times can be long depending on the day and time, but we've always been able to get a table. Our favorite dishes are the KOREAN FRIED CHICKEN (Spicy Yangneom style), the SEAFOOD PANCAKE (HAMEOL PAJEON), the GALBI JJIM, and the GALBI SOUP. As someone who doesn't normally like deep fried foods, the FRIED a CHICKEN is definitely an exception. It's super crispy and the sauce is sweet, tangy, and hot- it is literal perfection. The SEAFOOD PANCAKE is light and fluffy, almost like a tempura batter. The GALBI JJIM is sweet, savory, and hearty. The meat is extremely tender and literally falls off the bone. Lastly, the GALBI SOUP is super flavorful and had great bone broth flavor. It was nice and mild with well marinated beef on the bone and sweet potato noodles on the bottom. Perfect for a cold winter day.The unlimited banchan has varied each time we've been, but on rotation, they have kimchi, cucumber kimchi, fish cake, bean sprouts, broccoli with ketchup, salad, potato salad, soy honey potatoes, kimchi radish, and some sort of root vegetable.Service is great. If Sam is working, you know you're definitely in good hands, but all the workers are great and attentive. Hot tea is complimentary as well. The atmosphere is trendy and clean. They have a heated and covered outdoor waiting area as their entry way is very cramped.Overall: 5/5 for food, 5/5 for are service, 5/5 for atmosphere
