The real deal Naija food! Loved getting to try this spot while visiting the area! It looked like a nice place to sit and eat but I got my order to go. Everything was tasty. Awesome meat pie and suya. Also loved the amala and egusi soup. I do wish the portions were bigger for the price.

Looking for FIRE West African food in the DFW area?! You gotta try Zag Afro- Fusion! My daughter and I went yesterday for some goodness and walked out full and extremely satisfied. Every dish exploded with West African flavors and was obviously made with love. I felt like I was at my granny's dinner table. It was a vibe for sure! Check them out! Everything was yummy! Our server Omo was amazing!! She helped us pick what we ordered and had excellent suggestions. The food was fresh and delicious! What we got:Classic Chapman: A fruity punch with cucumber flavor added... Journey approved (it made her dance ) Beef Suya: Thinly sliced beef marinated in West African spices and peppers . I could not stop eating this tender beef.... it was addicting and I can't wait to teat myself to more!Egusi Stew with Pounded Yam: A must! Fresh collard greens in ground Melon seeds simmered in a spicy African stew with beef. You use the yam to scoop up the stew! Delish!! Charcoal Chicken: Five Spiced and grilled chicken served with a smokey jallof rice.

You must eat this delicious food. High recommendations on food, service, and atmosphere. We started with drinks. I tried the Orijin described as an African spirit mixed drink. Our server compared it to a cider. I thought it tasted more like a smoother ginger ale with no bite. Loved it. My companion had the African lager beer which was delicious and high aromas of fermenting like when you walk in a brewery. Mmmm. While waiting for our food the very kind server brought us a surprise treat to snack on- fried dough balls. So yummy. We ordered the beef suya appetizer. All three of us ate this huge app plate up! I don't eat a lot of meat but if I did, I would eat this meat the rest of my life. I ordered the Efo Riro with plantains entree, and a side of the Jollof rice. Ohmigosh. So delicious. I had a choice to get my stew without meat. The flavors and spices were amazing. My companions ordered charcoal chicken, and Naija stew with rice. Both loved their meals. Even the close out is super courteous: our check came with mints and floss toothpicks. Such a considerate touch. I also appreciate paying with tech. Our server was superb. The meals are well prepared. For example, chef achieved that unique, smokey flavor in the Jollof rice. We cannot wait to come back.

I am in town from California and craved some egusi. I went 2 days in a row and both times service was excellent. The first visit I had the beef egusi with pounded yam. I took out the beef as I didn't like the texture. The second time I just got the egusi without meat. Both times I really really enjoyed the egusi. My daughter had the jollof rice and she said it was very fresh and flavorful.I will return next time I am in town.

Called over the phone to get takeout and try it for the first time with my family! The person who answered was very patient and kindly answered my questions.Ordered the following dishes:- Egusi with pounded yam (ordered it with only beef, no tripe or cow foot)Never tried egusi until now but it's definitely a new favorite of mine! Seasoned well and has a kick of spice. The fufu was a great side to this, and I'm definitely reordering it again.- Jerk chicken with jollof riceI've tried a handful of various countries' version of jollof rice before, and I have to admit this has been the most flavorful! Personally I'm not a fan of the smoky taste, but my family members enjoyed it. Chicken practically fell off the bone and felt like butter in my mouth! - Efo riro with plantains (ordered it with only beef, no tripe or cow foot)Efo riro has a special place in my heart, and while this restaurant's has not taken the #1 efo riro spot for me I highly recommend trying it! Was seasoned very well and also had a hint of spice, but a bit too fishy for my personal taste.Since we ordered takeout I can't fully comment on the service, but the restaurant looked so chic and lovely inside! Very nice ambiance and great music playing :)

Ordered the Egusi (beef only) with pounded yam (fufu) and it was so good. Perfect amount of spice, lots of beef and tons of flavor. I will definitely be back to order again!

Aromatic scents fill the entire restaurant. Beautiful setting, clean, simple, warm and welcoming. A kind woman greeted me with a lovely masked smile- who doesn't love a hearty hello upon entering a restaurant- my favorite. She was so sweet, she offered me a seat and a drink while she went to retrieve the menu. I asked a few questions and asked for a few suggestions and she was so patient the whole time. Two friendly ladies worked in the kitchen-the food was made fresh, on the spot. I heard the clinks and clanks of the spoon and pots creating my delicious meal for the evening. The food was absolutely amazing- spiced so nice. Flavor profiles that I have never tasted before but love-love-loved every morsel. The beef Suya was out of this world, my favorite part- tender beef, thin slices but loaded with flavor- almost roasted with spices in a dry cast iron skillet- crisp and tender. Must try. The Egusi had so many complex flavors- I enjoyed the smoked turkey- I asked them to exclude the tripe and cow leg this time around- lol. She understood. The smoked turkey was dynamite alongside the curried strew- veggies, flavor, a perfect pairing for my next adventure- pounded yam. Ahhhh this was fluffy, bouncy and a playful texture in my fingers- delicious with the beef and Egusi. Reminded me a little bit of what we call appam in Kerala or even idili- fun. I also had a hankering for some egg rolls I saw in them menu- piping hot, crisp and it hit the spot. I am so happy they are close by- I gots to get my hands on that beef again. So dang good! Pleas go check them out!!!!!!

Great food and service, ambiance was quiet as I was there to pick up and early dinner for a family of 5. We had Egusi, pounded yam, wings, egg rolls, Jollof rice and chicken. We will be back for sure!

The food was good, the portions could have been bigger. They also charged an automatic 18% gratuity. I generally pay more in gratuity but they took it and did not state, until the check was given, that its their practice for all dine in. I like to feel good about blessing others with gratuity as a gift and appreciation for service, and not as a charge.
