Been going there for 20+ years. Went in tonight for a beer only at 1:00 am. Treated me like a scrub. I've spent thousands and brought kings into this establishment. Fuck this Korean owned hole. They should be lucky they are still opened since the Japanese owners sold out. Like all great Dallas gems, they have ruined the go to late night places. When you place the closed for business sign in your window, remember all the locals that loved your food and friendly atmosphere. The food is mediocre at best. The wait staff is fake as hell. It's not like it was years ago. This place has evolved into the norm. What you get is what you get... sad.I'm done with this place . You'll know what I mean when the closed for good is in the window...

Food was good, but service always seems slow at Yama. There's so much options on the menu and they don't usually go wrong in my opinion. It's a great place to eat and hangout late at night.

Uhmmmm... I don't know what to say other than bring back the other people that used to work there.I walked in the door and a man with a baseball cap and glasses walked passed me comin in to go to the side that was labeled as closed. 4 min later, he asked me if I've been helped. I said no. He said are you picking up? Me: No I'm eating in. Him: How many?Me: 1He seated me. When he came to ask for my order I said no. He said ok and left.A lady comes a few minutes later to take my order. She looked like I was keeping. The carpaccio was uncomfortably just above room temp imo... It also needed more truffle oil and less salt. The roll was really good. I truly hope someone goes to check on the employees. They didn't seem ok tonight

Been here a good amount of times - this most recent time all our rolls had old rice :( it was very dry and hard to chew. First bad experience here.

First time eating here with some friends. It was an okay experience overall! There's a ton of indoor seating; they have 2 large rooms (one with a sushi bar seating and regular tables, and the other with large tables and games). We ordered the Buta-kimchi and creamy seafood udon. The buta-kimchi had a very strong oniony taste; it wasn't as filling as we had hoped. The creamt seafood udon was very rich (a little too heavy with sauce for my taste). It also didn't have as much seafood as I had hoped, but it was nonetheless a filling entree. The spicy endamame had a lot of flavor and spice! The Sunagimo kara-age was nice and cripsy, and it was accompanied with a tasty sauce. Our group also ordered a variet of rolls ans nigiri. The workers were very nice and friendly. About half of our group ordered sushi, and the other half ordered other dishes that required more cooking time. This discrepancy led to half of the group waiting for their food, and the other half eating. One of my friends had to wait extra long for her dish to come out, but it came out shortly after we had asked. The parking is very easy and plentiful, and the restaurant is located in a quiet shopping complex. Will need to try their sushi next time!

Locally owned gem nestled in a shopping complex. It may seem unassuming, but this restaurant had a nice assortment of Japanese and Korean foods and drinks. We started out with the yakitori skewers. They were perfectly juicy and charred. Friendly wait staff. I'm a big fan of restaurants that give you a happy hour type discount, and that's exactly what Yama did for select nigiri. Good size portion ratio of rice to fish. Not pictured included my boozy mango Sochu cocktail. A fun worth-it sushi and yakitori restaurant in outskirts of Dallas.

Very authentic Japanese food. It's always a full house/no empty tables, so you know it's definitely good! The service is normally really quick (in and out 30-45mins). The food itself is really good and I definitely recommend you step outta your shell a little bit and try new things here because it definitely opened my eyes to new foods ! Overall great! The parking lot is kinda a nightmare because it's very small and there's tons of people who attend the billiard hall next door- so just note parking can be hard sometimes.

Food is quite bland. I'm in shock that we paid $9 for Shishito peppers and only received four! I low key feel like I've been robbed! Not to mention they were unseasoned, not even a dash of salt. We ended up eating what we already had at the house. Everyone was disappointed. This was a fail. It sucks bec I love the deal on Uber Eats, but really just not worth it.

This place was actually really good. Vibe is exactly what you want going to a sushi place. Everything was reasonably priced and very tasty. My hoe ordered the miso soup ramen...that was unbelievably good. Probably one of the best things I've eaten

Awesome place, open late, and great food. Only complaint is I brought a girl on a date here & they did not bring out the food we ordered at the same time. The staff was kind of "oh well" about it, but it made for an awkward waiting period. Would have preferred theyd asked if it came out together or not to have avoided that. Would still recommend but definitely something to be wary about.
