Honored to call this place home for our beloved band of merry performance artists on the weekly. Phillip and his staff, RJ, have sought to make us feel welcome, well wine educated and happy. It is ambient and cosy. Wifi available. Solid upstairs for when one wants for some atmosphere. Once a week on Mondays, our community of creatives collaborating individual talents, in a show come here and do their thing. Never the same show twice. Great chance to support local in more ways than one. House Pa provided. Great libations, too. Non-alcoholic options also available. Outside food is welcome. Parking free in the retail lot.

----- Read This Review ------GO! Awesome, intimate, warm and inviting! Excellent wine selection and private wine service is available for the more discrete patrons who want an impressive collection at home. Looking for delicious wines, here they are. (And no grocery store wine!)Dark wood antiqueish long wood tables on the main floor with a small stage for musicians who pop by on rotation. Upstairs area is a more intimate setting. I can't wait to go back. I'm going back!

If you're looking for a casual neighborhood wine bar, that attracts a diverse clientele, Wine Therapist is worth a visit. The lofted minimalistic design with communal tables and benches conjure an old English pub vibe. Similar to many venues in the area, a design revamp would go a long way, but still, a good time can be had by all. I'm not a wine snob, however I don't believe true connoisseurs of wine or beer, will be impressed with the limited options, or prices. Why visit Wine Therapist? I love supporting local artist, and from Open Mic Mondays to varied musical artist throughout the week, there's always something to enjoy, even a wine tasting area that's great for parties (maybe there are different wine options during a tasting.) Parking is easy, and although they don't serve food they allow orders from nearby venues. Hope to enjoy the arts with you at Wine Therapist soon! Xoxo Lorenzo!

I've been coming to The Wine Therapist for several years, to both locations. As others have said, the outside sign says "WINE," so be aware of thatThe atmosphere is warm and comfortable, very neighborhood vibe. I've never been uncomfortable coming alone, you can have a drink unbothered or strike up a conversation with a friend or some strangers. Philip and Gretchen are knowledgeable and always fun to talk to.Great place!!

When you first drive by, don't let the red neon sign that only whispers "WINE" fool you, because I can't say enough great things about this place! Their wine list impeccable, and infinitely better than the other wine bars in the area and beyond. For that, you can thank owner Phillip Nikpour's superb knowledge of the grape, and his never ending search for the best in vintage and value. The service is graciously offered by manager/bartendress Gretchen, who always gives a smile with her generous pours. They often have exceptional live music on the weekends. Bottom line, if you like being someone that's in on a best kept secret, you'll love the ambience of The WT.

Wine Therapist moved to a new location about a year ago. And if you blink, you'll miss it. There is no major signage, just a small neon sign that says WINE. I guess that's all you need these days in Lakewood, but you won't hear any complaints from me. Unlike many other wine bars that are similar to sitting in someone's living room or patio. Wine Therapists has a art studio feel to it.The space is two levels. The upstairs offers more privacy and some really comfy chairs. Downstairs has the usual bar space and it also has the community style table & bench seating. You'll also notice plenty of local art on display on the wall, which is fairly cool. If you're like most wine drinkers, you will want something to snack on. Wine Therapist doesn't have food, but you can order from the Italian restaurant next door and they will deliver right to your table. If the weather is nice or your tolerant of being outside in Texas, you can sit at one of the sidewalk tables. Service is very consistent on each visit. And there's a great variety of wines to choose from. You will find plenty of friendly locals. Don't hesitate to make this a regular stop on your way home.

Came here for a friend who was playing some live music on a Friday night and was pleasantly surprised with this place.Lots of different options for drinks, no matter your taste they are sure to have something you will like.Even though I was here for an event I was able to check the place out: there are some great spots where you can hang out with the crowd, or there a couple rooms upstairs where you and separate yourself for a more intimate feelingJust word of warning though, if you don't know what your looking for you may miss it. The sign on the building only says "Wine" so keep an eye out!

My fiancé and I loved going to this wine bar, but after this past weekend that completely changed. We hadn't been since March 2020 before the pandemic began. We used to go on the WEEKENDS for date night because they had amazing wine flights for a great price. We decided to take some family from out of town to the wine therapist, seeing that we had been bragging about them all week. Not to mention we were excited to finally return ourselves. Upon our arrival, Gretchen greeted us. I told her we were waiting for 3 other people and we were interested in wine flights. Little did I know they were no longer doing flights on the weekends. She proceeds to LIE and says, "We don't do flights on the weekends. I told you that when you called here earlier." For starters, I have never called the establishment, my fiancé is always the one making the calls. Secondly, "we" all don't sound alike. For her to confidently tell me in front of my family that she had already discussed this with me was absolutely racist and disgusting to us. Following the request for the flights, I asked her for a menu. She responds with, "Our wines are limited, we have no menu. Just tell me what you want." My sister in law asked the same question and she responds in the same rude manner. All she could provide to us was that they had two Napa cabs once we asked about Cabernet. We are extreme wine lovers so when we asked for the brand of the wine, Gretchen would only tell us "Napa Cabs". We asked again for the brand and in mid sentence she interrupts us to say , "I'm trying to tell you." as if we needed to shut the hell up and let her talk. To make a long story short we left and wont be returning EVER. Her behavior was down right disrespectful and as far as I'm concerned this is a racist establishment and if I could give it negative 3 stars I would, which sucks because the owner, Philip, is such a sweet guy. As we were walking out of the door, my fiancé asked for her name and she says, "It's Gretchen. Yeah I know you're going to leave a bad review on yelp." Well, here's your review, Gretch. A little word of advice, creating a limited menu would have been helpful. Even if you have to create a limited menu every week as you run out of wine, if it helps the customers, then it's great for business. But you Gretchen, you're bad for business. If you're looking for great wine with terrible service, ask for Gretchen. She'll be more than happy to take care of you.
