Love this shop, nice surprise...what I wanted here: Japanese mugs and teacups, Japanese baskets and mugs, furoshiki wraps and lots of Japanese cutesy stuff etc , hand made or local items such little notebooks, mugs and greeting cards made from all over or novelty items from Areaware and the like. I can stay here half a day. I spent a good hour though I didn't see everything. Should have taken photos - little wares, posters...great place to get some gifts...that are not candles...lolFair pricey pricing as Japanese goods that are not from Daiso are, for hand made small batch watchamacallits, good looking notebooks and paper products (in all sizes including slightly bigger than 1x2's) and there may not be anything less than $5. I say it's worth it. Carefully curated items you won't easily find anywhere, on hand and in person.

Very nice art shop! This was definitely one of my favorite stores I visited within the Bishop Arts District. The pictures they have on the walls are absolutely beautiful and I wish I had a place in my suitcase for one where it wouldn't get squished. I managed to find some cute little gifts for my family that I'm excited to give them. Some of the things are on the pricier side, but that's probably because it is stuff that you can't really find anywhere else. It is a very unique shop and I would love to come back and shop again!

One of the best shops on the Bishop Arts strip. It's thoughtfully curated with so much goodness tucked away into all of its corners. Cutest Japanese housewares, stationery, unique artwork and letterpress prints. I love coming here to find something different than the norm as gifts.

Of all the businesses in the Bishop Arts District, this one was my favorite...so much so that I visited once alone and then brought my husband back the next day. First off, I love being able to support POC-owned businesses, and also appreciate finding merch that speaks to my culture and experiences. (For example, the pin depicting someone telling an American-born Asian person that they speak English well. Sigh.) The store is packed with prints that will appeal to all interests: national parks, funny sayings, activism, pop culture, cutesy images...some by local artists as well as artists all around the globe. It felt paralyzing to choose something to bring home (when I really wanted to buy half the store)! But in the end, we bought a small print of two cats playing arcade games and a larger one of a turtle rock climbing in Joshua Tree NP. I also got a small print of a Bruce Lee quote, with all proceeds for that particulate print being donated to 18 Million Rising (an organization committed to mobilizing Asian Americans to advocate for political issues). We considered shipping the posters (since we were visiting from out of town), but the employee suggested buying a sturdy cardboard tube for $5 and transporting the prints that way. He packed up our prints SO carefully, and they made it home with us in perfect condition. Definitely visit this store if you're in the area! Friendly employees, fun merch to browse through, and tons of creative inspiration!

We are 1976 is a quirky little letterpress and gift shop right in the heart of the Bishop Arts District. If you are quickly scanning the room you will see an array of delights for the eye. Think Miffy bento boxes, stickers of spam musubi doing push ups, llama planters, prints of Texas, pineapple pouches and pins immortalizing the greatest electrical invention of all time, the rice cooker.Their stationary game is tight and their writing utensil collection is heavenly.I don't think I've ever seen a store speak to my very core quite like this and I definitely went home with a few goodies to bring home to friends (and will most likely keep).

I have a definite soft spot for print shops and letter presses, and We Are 1976 is a great one! They have a fantastic selection of prints both made in house and from other presses across the country. Obviously they had a large selection of cards, but I was mostly interested in their art prints. There were so many that I wanted to take home with me, and now that I'm back in Portland I'm kicking myself for not making a purchase. Maybe I'll have to shop online?Other than prints they have a nice selection of gift items that would be perfect for all types of people on your list. I would say this is the ideal way to shop for thoughtful gifts for people you don't know all that well, if that makes sense. It should also be noted that the store has a really warm vibe with friendly customer service. It's cool that they offer a "semi-custom letterpress" and I bet they'd knock it out of the park for invites or other official correspondence. Cute place. I'm very happy that I stopped in.

Cool printshop with tons of items for folks across different ages. We stopped by to browse and found so many items we wanted to purchase (and would have if we had a checked bag!)The print posters are also pretty cool!Only thing I didn't like were some of the customers attitudes! Not anything they can control but disappointed to see/hear so many remark about the local long time residents in this obviously gentrified neighborhood.

We Are 1976 is an awesome artsy little shop tucked away inconspicuously in this Dallas suburb. They have a Gambit of local and brand name gifts, trinkets, prints, nick-nacks, and specialty items. The store is small but packed with goodies and variety, staff is helpful but otherwise not pushy. The parking...it's an issue, expect to circle on the weekends or to park in the adjacent neighborhood as the parking in front of the store is severely limited.

Love everything in the store - as a sucker for an Asian/Asian-American-owned small business, cute stuff, and dishware, this place has the coolest things and it's so hard to exert self control here. Everything I've bought here has been very high quality and it's my go-to for gifts.
