We went on a Friday night and wasn't as busy when we arrived. Recommend making reservations regardless. They had a tasting menu for $40 but we chose to go the a la carté route. The boa buns was my fav! We tried the Korean fried chicken and the duck, both flavors were so different. The fried chicken was perfectly fried. The buns have a sweet taste to it. The ramen were okay, not our favorite because it was lacking a little bit of spice to it. The bang bang cauliflower was soooo good and the Tokyo fries were eh. The teriyaki salmon was a bit overcooked but had sweetness and spiciness to it. Overall, the food was good.

After seeing videos about the tasting menu, I wanted to come and try it out. Made a reservation on OpenTable, and we received it very promptly. At 5 PM on a weekday it was very empty. When you walk in, you can see the bar to the right which is the perfect place to have a drink along with high top seating to the left. Towards the middle of the restaurant, there are tables and booths for regular seating. To start off, ordered the tasting menu which came with edamame and a lychee martini as the first course. The edamame was seasoned really well and was very fresh and hot. Lychee Martini was very sweet and to my liking. Unfortunately, there was no lychee fruit, I think they just use syrup. The second course were the bao buns, that fried chicken and the vegetable mushroom bell buns paired with two different types of sake. The sparkling sake was my favorite of the three that were included. The bao buns were very fluffy and soft, the fried chicken bao one was really good and tasty. The chicken was very crispy on the side and soft on the inside. For the final dish, I got the fried chicken katsu curry. The rice was fantastic! It was so so fluffy like a cloud. The chicken was very crispy on the outside, but also tender on the inside. The curry sauce on top of the chicken and rice brought the whole dish together, and there is also some salad greens on the side. Really enjoyed this part of the tasting menu.Overall, the tasting menu is a great price for the amount of food and drinks you get. One thing that could use improvement is the timing of when things are brought out. I got my chicken Katsu before getting the two bao buns, but the chicken was supposed to be the last dish. Also, we had to ask for the happy hour and tasting menu in the beginning. You would think that they would offer these as we are suited because of the day and time. Otherwise, the service was good in our server was very friendly, although she was new. She had a great attitude.!

Modern meets Japandi! This restaurant's unique style of decoration and division of space led to a super unique and visually interesting experience with a great atmosphere that made the space feel cozy and upscale at the same time. Angie was our server and did a great job taking care of us. There seemed to be some confusion on the backend of service that led to one of our main courses being delivered late but the service team comped us with an extra appetizer of the shrimp calamari which I thought was nice. For appetizers I recommend the Tokyo Fries. The fries are fun, crispy, and loaded. It's made of haystack style sweet potato fries, sliced beef, cilantro, and cabbage. The only criticism here is that the beef was over marinated and had an off putting chalky texture. I imagine this is the exception instead of the normal though. We also tried the calamari. It had a unique crispiness due to how it was prepared and while the chili dust and rice wine vinegar sauce were interesting I don't think I'd order it again. Finally, we shared the Pork Gyoza which was flavorful and had a good crispy bottom. For main courses we had the Nama Spicy Tuna bowl and the Short Rib Ramen. Both of which were equally unique and delicious. The spicy tuna bowl was fresh, light, and packed with spice and umami flavor. The tuna was prepared perfectly and had almost zero fishiness to it. One portion was large enough for two full meals in my opinion. The Short Rib Ramen was rich and hearty with deep flavor and warmed the soul. I would highly recommend both. Overall this restaurant has a great environment and great food. I would come back and try the paring menu or the 4-course chef experience. Great for a date night.

Keep in mind Wagamama is Asian fusion. The Korean friend chicken Bao bun stood out the most (7/10). The crispy rice ahi was not as crispy on the outside as expected but that was confirmed it should not be (6.5/10) It's still flavorful just not how I thought crispy rice should be. Again, it might be my expectation of authentic ramen but the chili chicken ramen tasted more like chicken broth with noddles and chicken (6/10). Other than the food, the service was excellent, our waitress was very friendly and helped provide recommendations. It's also set up very cute with benches and option of booth and high chairs. It's on the casual side so perfect for wanting something soupy and feeling cozy!

We ordered the Bang Bang Cauliflower, Chicken Gyoza Ramen, Grilled Duck Ramen, and Matcha Cheesecake. I had high expectations of this place but it it is definitely fusion. I loved the Grilled Duck Ramen because the duck falls apart easily and the broth is very good. The Bang Bang Cauliflower tastes like boneless teriyaki chicken (a great for vegans!) and the matcha cheesecake was also delicious. The parking was difficult to find. Their website said to park in the parking lot across the street but it was under construction. We parked under the Kroger but later found out that they didn't validate parking at Kroger. There were not a lot of parking options so be prepared to pay for parking. The service was quite good because we were seated quickly and the food came out pretty fast. The ambiance was very good as well - we went for lunch but it would be better for dinner since it is walking distance to the American Airlines Center and Happiest Hour.

My first trip to wagamama left a lot to be desired. I had honestly never heard of this restaurant before but my mom and brother both enjoyed it at different locations and wanted to check out the Dallas location while my brother was in town. Made a reservation for a Tuesday night, this was definitely not needed as the restaurant was completely empty at 7pm. We were running a little late due to traffic so i attempted to call several times just to give them a heads up but no one ever answered the phone. No biggie. So we arrived to the empty restaurant with the phone still ringing somewhere in the back. No employees around except for one guy who comes to the front but turns his back to us to work on something else. He begrudgingly sat us after i asked if we should seat ourselves. The restaurant is intimate and has plenty of seating. The kitchen is also open so you are able to see the chefs at work. They did a wonderful job at presentation and the food was tasty. Our waitress was also very sweet and helpful with any questions we had.My favorite thing on the menu was the bang bang cauliflower. Delicious, could not stop eating it, almost ordered a second. The edamame was boring and lacked any salt or seasoning. I ordered the chicken yaki soba which was good but just not the item for me. The firecracker chicken was much more flavorful and i would prefer that. Overall the food was just okay, service was just okay. There was nothing to really blow me away and keep me coming back for more.

Beautiful decor and seating options and helpful server. we came in during happy hour so we grabbed a few appetizers and drinksbest tasting: tokyo friesworst: pad thai and ramen were tied, flavorless and no reflection of their origins. it was like you ran them under water before servingalso did not enjoy my blossom drink, it's taste hit me like rose perfumeoverall, this spot was not a hit for me! i tend to have higher standards when it comes to asian cuisine, but wagamama did not tick any of my boxes.

I kept seeing reels on instagram so decided to try it but it was not worth the hype. We ordered Chicken fire-cracker curry and Ginger chicken udon. Curry had very little suace so it tasted really bland and the some chicken pieces were too chewy. Ginger chicken udon was good but mostly tasted ginger and peanut. We also ordered Korean Fried Chicken Bao buns which were my favorite. Our friends ordered chilli chicken ramen and spicy beef brisket rice dish and they said it was really good. The vibes and service were good so will give it another try and try other things on the menu.

Visited Wagamama for dinner and tried their 4 course tasting menu. We went on a Thursday night and there were very few tables aside from ours. For $30 we got edamame, chicken and sweet potato bao, and chicken yaki soba. All courses also come with a sake pairing! I liked the sweet potato bao more than I thought I would be but the chicken bao was without a doubt the best. The yaki soba was a great sized portion but needed more flavor, in my opinion. Overall, great bang for your buck!
