Full transparency I was a Velvet Taco skeptic, I'm not usually a "gourmet" taco kinda guy, so walking in and seeing the menu I was a little overwhelmed. As I read the menu I felt like I was watching MasterChef and words like aioli, Napa slaw, and pickled fresnos had me sec9nd guessing my decision... and then it happened. I found the Chicken and Waffle taco, yes you read that right, my inner southern child screamed "winner winner chicken dinner" I was more composed on the outside. I ordered the combo with queso as the side... and as skeptical as I was when I walked in I became a believer with the first bite. I mean a waffle soft taco, nuff said. The only problem now is how do I go back to my old tacos!?!?! Next time I'll try something with steak, because there will definitely be a next time, and a third time, and a fourth time, and so on, and so on. That's enough about the food, let's talk about the service. Ordering was easy and the staff was extremely friendly. The food came out fast, fresh, and ready to eat.. The restaurant feels young, if that makes sense, but my old gen x ass felt right at home. Great music too, not too loud but definitely adds the vibe. A special thanks to Justin for helping us with some take out boxes, they are made to hold individual tacos, also kind of awesome hahaha. If you're looking for a tacos that'll make you question your tex-mex dedication the Velevt Taco is the place for you, if you're looking to stay boring and live a mundane existence then it's not.

We have been here twice in the last month, and we absolutely LOVE the fun and unique taco offerings! Will be coming back again and again!Our first time trying Velvet Taco was via takeout which was already really good, but we dined in our second time and that was even better since everything was super fresh.We have tried a variety of the tacos on their menu at this point, and I gotta say that almost all of them have been hits for me. My favorites are definitely the slow roasted angus brisket (which comes in a cheese encrusted tortilla!), beer battered cauliflower, picnic chicken, and Mexi-Cali shrimp (the shrimp is SO flavorful). The sweet chile shrimp has been the only one that was a miss -- the flavors were meh in my opinion and it just didn't hold up as well as the others. I would also call out that the chicken & waffle taco is really good but the waffle tortilla breaks very easily.

Great option for a large take out order! I had some friends in town so we decided to do a pick up order. Online ordering process was easy to use and accurate. The food was ready when I got there! We ordered a 2 orders of the dip trios -- elote was the best! The guac was fresh and flavorful. We got 6 bags of chips... Lots of extras which was appreciated!! The salsa was probably everyone's least favorite because it was very heavy tomato flavor with an artificial fire roasted flavor. The tacos were fresh, full of toppings and worth the price. The birria tacos were my least favorite; they didn't stay fresh for long so that was on me. The Mexi Cali was delicious!! The restaurant was clean and fairly large--it would be a good place to go with a large group.

How have I NOT written a review for Velvet Taco yet?!! With all the restaurants that have opened in the area Velvet Taco is bar FAR the best one! + The food is incredible, they don't skimp on ingredient quantity or quality. + The service is top notch and quick for super fresh ingredients and custom built tacos.+ The order ahead and pick up via drive thru is timely and they have great service. I've never waited long and my order has always been ready when I arrive.+ The margaritas both to go and for there are tasty - highly recommend!My favorite tacos so far are the #14.5 Sweet chile shrimp, Fan Favorite#17 Mexi-Cali shrimp, #15 Grilled salmon (GF) * †, and most recently July's Weekly WTF Taco= Hawaiian Pokeahi tuna, napa slaw, buttery cilantro rice, sesame soy vinaigrette, grilled pineapple, pickled fresnos, cilantro, avocado, corn tortilla - $6.25My hubbie's favorite is usually the weekly WTF taco, but otherwise it's the Fan Favorite#3 Spicy tikka chicken and the #11.5 Chimichurri steak. I'm sure I'll have more photos and updated reviews as time goes on, but I HIGHLY recommend Velvet Taco!

It was very good. The tacos are very flavorful and unique. I found the squeaking of the chairs on the floor to be surprisingly loud. It was also very crowded with barely enough dining room seating, though it was on a Friday evening that this happened.

We ordered these tacos through the app and we were quite pleased with the presentation. We of course got the spicy tikka chicken which was actually not as flavorful as usual. We also got the chimichurri steak as well as the slow-roasted angus brisket which was by far the most popular flavor of our group! The service was okay as the food was not ready on time but it was pretty packed for a week night and had a fun vibe to the location overall!
