I found this on a Tik Tok search for all you can eat sushi. I went and it was packed, waited 40 mins and then finally got my booth. I started with the snow crab salad which the waiter stated was mayo based and I love what I know as kani salad from back home in NY. They have tons of items and I can't wait to go back. Trying food is fun and out of all I order just one didn't work for me. The fried calamari, it was so to tough for me. I tried the cucumber and house salads loved both, the ginger dressing was delish! I then tried sweet potato tempura (2 pieces) which was plenty, you want to try everything. The crab puff (Rangoon) and fried shrimp were all great. The waiter was so nice and knowledgable. The hibachi steak and combo udon so yummy!I then got one sushi roll that was a 5 piece roll I did ask to put one of the topping in the side and that was done, I appreciate being able to modify little things. Fried bananas and Oreos were good but could have been a bit better it was fired and somewhat fired too hard. Powder sugar would help on the fried desserts to balance the tempura batter. If I have any feedback, I would say there can be longer wait times when ordering more food but it comes out pretty fast.

We came here for lunch and went with the AYCE as we were tickled to give the whole menu a go. We ordered a variety of sushis, appetizers, and noodles for the little one. The nigiris were good. The fish to rice ratio was a good proportion. It was a smidge warmer than I preferred. The appetizers were good. My favorite (and usual favorite) is seaweed salad and a good complement to the sushis. We meant for the noodles to just be for the little one but it was actually quite good. I would order it for myself as well. Service was good. Our server was attentive and polite. One thing I wasn't crazy about was the lack of paper/board/whatever to write my order out on. It was hard to keep track of what I was going to order. I didn't count it against them as it might've just been my own preference or a suggestion.

This is the most unassuming place. I think the venue used to be an Applebees or something like that. If you're a fan of AYCE, this is a gem. Things to know-Portion sizes are small to prevent over-ordering.-Food is tasty and feels like it was made to order.-Flavors taste curated and very flavorful.-Sushi is fresh!!!! Service is quick. Dirty plates were taken away quickly. No complaints! Give it a try!

Restaurant interior is beautiful, spacious, and unique. If it felt otherworldly during the day time, I wonder how the cool vibes would be during a later dinner/night time. It was very calm and pleasant. We arrived around 11 and left at around 12:30 but it never got really busy. Our server, Fred, was so helpful and sweet. We were unfamiliar with the options like all you can eat (AYCE) but he was very helpful in providing a thorough explanation and walking through prices. AYCE has a diffeeent menu than regular and food comes out in smaller portions to share and have room to try all the options. Food overall took an average time to come out but some took a lot longer than others, but since the restaurant isn't really bustling or overstimulating, I was able to converse with my daughters, who I went with. It was nice to be able to not only enjoy the food aspect of the restaurant but also be able to connect and spend time with my daughters without having to yell. Fred repeatedly checked up on us and when food was taking long, he was updating us on the process of making it, which shows that they make the food fresh. Overall, great service.Food:a lot of the food on the menu has unique fruity sauces-Truffle Salmon: didn't taste much truffle and it came with an orange sauce... like the FRUIT orange! initially, it took me aback but I oddly liked it! orange flavor is very sweet and strong but then it fades away and you taste the tobiko and salmon and the combination is very interesting-Tempura Banana dessert: we ordered this because it seemed so unique, and it took a while to come out but it was good! Came warm but the bananas they use are more on the less ripe side so it doesn't get mushy when cooking. - sushi: all the sushi was pretty good and flavorful but not warm.honorable mentions:1. Paradise Roll: delicious! came with a mango sauce that paired well with the other flavors in the sushi2. Beautiful Life Roll: I loved the savory flavor from the sauces, tobiko, and crawfish. Overall, the restaurant isn't perfect, but made our experience a 5 star. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Tried the AYCE option here and was excited to see that they have offer sashimi, which is awesome so you don't get full off of rice like many of the other AYCE sushi spots. I will say that the kitchen items and the rolls were just okay, so I was completely find just loading up on the sashimi option. The salmon sashimi was buttery and melts in your mouth. Yum!Kids under 5 eat for free, and there are many options for them to choose from, such as hibachi noodles, udon, tempura items, gyoza, etc.Overall, considering this is an AYCE spot that offers sashimi, I would come here again when I am craving sashimi.

Tried this place out for a family birthday dinner and service was good and fast. Everyone was very helpful and it was easy to order and quick to be delivered to the table. The presentation of the food was pretty and organized which was visually appealing. Quality was good and overall had a good experience. I would say this is more of a 3.5 because my only complaint is that the rice on the sushi was undercooked ( it had some peices of rice that was crunchy) and the rolls were good but a bit cold like they were made too ahead of time and left in the fridge. The sushi pieces were a little too big and too much rice in my opinion however I know many people who like the bigger size so it's not necessarily a bad thing (especially since you can order sashimi and just double up on fish if you wanted lol) It was good to try once but not sure if I'd choose to come here over some other ayce places. It is very spacious and easy to get seating so maybe better for larger groups.

Umiya Sushi is a casual and inviting restaurant known for its fresh sushi and delicious rolls. It just recently opened last year. With its relaxed atmosphere and friendly service, Umiya Sushi is a great option for a casual meal with friends or family. We came in on Sunday at around 6 PM. We had a 15 minute wait, and the line steadily grew as time passed. They had a small area where guests can sit at. Charlie was out main server for the day. He was really great and came around a lot to make sure we had everything we needed. There were also some other servers and bussers who helped pre bus our tables as well. Shout out to Charlie for doing a great job.We got a variety of food from the extensive menu. Most of the food came out fresh and delicious. The salmon sashimi tasted especially good. I would say with the specialty sushi rolls that the portions of rice and dill were balanced, but anything with avocado in it was overkill. Some of the specialty sushis had a lot of avocado in it and on top of it. Some of the sweet sushi dishes were new to me, so I had to try them out. They were alright. * The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it a great place for a casual meal with friends or family. * The service is exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff who go above and beyond to make sure customers have everything they need. Charlie was exceptional. * The food is fresh and creative, with a wide variety of options to choose from. There's way too much avocado in some of the specialty sushis.Overall, Umiya Sushi Seafood and Grill is a highly-rated restaurant with a lot to offer. If you are looking for a great sushi experience in Frisco, I recommend giving Umiya Sushi a try.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon. Dinner menu and dinner pricing all day. Restaurant wasn't too busy and plenty of seating. Yelp check in offer of free beer or sake. I don't drink and asked if I could sub it for a Diet Coke but was told no. Later the server felt bad and gave the the drink anyway. For the food, everything was delicious. Sashimi cuts were nice and thick. Good rice to fish ratio for the sushi. Appetizers were nice! We enjoyed their desserts. Ice cream and fried cheesecake!

Came here with family and had a pretty decent experience. The service was fast and all of the workers were nice and explained the options on the AYCE menu well. Vibe seems good for families and larger groups so it worked out well. The food from the AYCE menu was pretty good and comparable to many AYCE sushi places. I didn't particularly like some of the appetizers we ordered like the tempura shrimp, but the hibachi steak was really good! The hibachi steak had a good flavor and texture and we ended up ordering it multiples times. Sushi quality was decent; some of the better sushi to me were the salmon and the mackerel. The mackerel taste was super good! It was great that you could order sashimi too for the AYCE (albeit limited). For the fast service and the spacious area I could see myself coming back with family.

Posting this review after having been there twice. Umiya is known for really good value, I mean where else can you find all you can eat sashimi for $35?As with anything, you get what you pay for. Their salmon and tuna is far more "slimy" than what you usually get at other Japanese restaurants. They often don't cool their rice down enough so often times, you will be eating "warm" sushi and rolls. The price offers a good selection of cooked foods (hibachi steak was good as was the tempura vegetables), but the place to beat for all you can eat sushi remains SUSHI DAMU off Preston. For me, Umiya ranks a distant second as they don't balance value and quality well.
