Tupy's Mexican Food Supreme

Super underrated and super delicious.We were visiting our family (my cousin) in suburbia and we wanted to grab a family friendly dinner + adult bevs. The usual Tex-mex chain options were on the list when my partner found Tupys. I always prefer supporting a local spot rather than a big chain (no idea if Tupys is a big chain but I'd never heard of it so it got my vote). We had 4 adults and 4 kids at peak dinner time on a Saturday evening in Frisco. We waited about 30 minutes for a table but the lobby area was fine enough to entertain the kids. We even had the bartender come out and take our grown up drink orders. We all got margs or their rift on a Paloma (forgot the name). All was good.In no time we were seated and off to the races. Food was all good and the kids menus were a solid 10/10.I got the mixed fajitas which we're super reasonably priced at $20 or so and we got several apps for the table to share. Service was excellent and the only thing I'd suggest for feedback is to dial up the heat. The heat (spiciness on the food that's supposed to be ). My partner got a Diablo chicken and she said it had no real bang.All in all, a great spot with friendly service.ps - plenty of TVs throughout the restaurant so HOOKEM !!!!

Great food!! I loved the Tupeys tacos! It was like a very upgraded Jack in the Box taco, so delicious! Great lunch specials. I would love to go back for a margarita soon!

Excellent quick stop for Mexican food. Good service, hot food and decent enough prices.

Having wanted to come to try this place for a while now, my wife and I finally got the chance. A family run place, the vibe is laid back, with a sleek and modern look. The booths are quite comfortable, and the service is fairly quick and pleasant.Now to the business at hand... the food. The chips are on the thick side and robust, and the salsa had some nice heat. Very nice. My bride ordered the chicken fajitas. The portion size was enough to satisfy almost everyone and very tasty ... yes, I took a bite! I ordered the beef enchiladas dinner that came with rice and beans. Let me pause here ... I could make an entire meal of their rice and beans ... perfect! The enchiladas were on point with tortillas sturdy enough to stand up to the cooking process, and me attacking them with a fork.For dessert, we had some sopapillias. Yum! Finally, the affordability factor. We had two dinners, two sodas, and dessert for a total of $38! Very affordable. We will definitely be back... I want to try the puffy tacos.

My husband and I tried Tupy's for the first time this week and we were so impressed! I ordered the Tuppy's Tacos and he ordered the Tuppy's Burrito with fajita steak. Both were great and the service was excellent! I also got the carne guisada taco to try and it was PERFECT! I'm from south texas (The Valley) and it's so hard to find restaurants that serve Carne Guisada so I'm always excited to try it when I see it on the menu and it did not disappoint! It tasted like authentic Carne Guisada, super tender and super flavorful!I also often judge mexican restaurants based on their mexican rice and Tupy's had better mexican rice than any other mexican restaurant I've been to! Including Salsa Tex Mex, La Hacienda, and Mi Cocina. We will absolutely be back and we look forward to it!

We had a large party and they quickly had us seated with chips and salsa and waters on the table. Excellent, speedy service! The atmosphere is casual but very festive, and they have a variety of elections for kids and adults on the menu. I had the taco salad and loved it!

Recently moved and tried several Tex Mex places. We've found our new place! Tony our server has adopted us as his favorite customer! Food is excellent and drinks are well made! Geaux try this one!

The staff have worked there for a while, and this restaurant has other locations and has been in business since 1990. Rhey are all very nice and helpful. The food portions were ample and tasty but lacking the spices to make it memorable. For the pricepoint, which is descent, I'm willing to return again & just add salt and pepper and get past it, but I don't picture returning as a regular. And I really wanted that to be the case. They have a decent happy hour. Food and drinks. I may try other food and see what happens. The margaritas were good. The building is in a Spanish style, and I like the old world feel. They keep the music going so it's fun.

FOOD: Food and drinks are outstanding.SERVICE: Out of the several times that we've been to Tupy's, we've only found one (1) semi-pleasant server. From hostesses to servers, staff members at Tupy's appear to be very unhappy. It's like they are robots. Never a warm, welcoming smile or interaction with guests. Never heard a "Welcome to Tupy's" or "Thank you for coming to Tupy's!" Since the apathy is common across the various jobs/positions, it appears to be a poor management or training issue. I hope owners find these reviews useful.AMBIANCE: Music is waaaay too loud; unable to hold a conversation.

I love this place! It's very inexpensive! My son and I go there and order the Tupy Tacos. It's a pan fried taco that is simply amazingly. We order queso and a small guacamole. Bill came to $30
