Researched festive holiday activities around the DFW area and this popped up. It's nice that the The Trains at NorthPark benefit Ronald McDonald House of Dallas. Felt nice to contribute to charity over the holidays. Tickets are $12 for adults, $7 for children, and $5 for seniors. Children under the age of 2 receive free admission. To my surprise, the Trains at NorthPark Center is a tradition for more than 25 years. There were so many elaborate miniature toy trains exhibit around the world. The State Fair of Texas is so cute and I really enjoyed the LEGO bricks display!Downside is you're done after one big loop around. You can finish viewing the entire thing in under 30 minutes; under 15 minutes even if you're not stopping to look around and admire the toy trains.

Underwhelming to be honest for the price of admission. But it's supposedly for a good cause so that's the saving grace. It's quite small and everything can be seen within 5 minutes. There are buttons in each setup but they seem to do nothing when pressed. The staff just looked blank-faced and couldn't even direct us where to enter or leave. They seemed just uninterested or simply don't know what they're doing. An actual mini-train ride would've been far more useful and worthwhile.

I remember going to see the trains when i was a kid at Northpark and i remember it being much bigger of a production back then. Although, i was a kid....I do feel like this is a great thing to do with the kids still but it is a smaller production now. It was fun to look at all the small trains and the artwork on the trains and around the setups. $10 per adult, kids under 2 are free.Santa is close by so if you want to add getting pictures with santa to the list, get there a little early so you can beat the crowd!

Awesome! Great display of trains benefiting Ronald Mcdonald charity. The scavenger hunt and moving trains helped keep kids attention. Fun seeing all the different painted trains. Nicely organized and the volunteers are so ki d and helpful throughout. Highly recommend making a holiday tradition.

This attraction near Santa's House at Northpark is very well put together. In addition to high quality train sets that take guests on a rail journey across America - the event offers a scavenger hunt that is both challenging and fun as guests look for hidden characters placed around the many scenes on display. Our kids had a blast and wanted to "stay a little longer," even when the Lego Store was next! The best part is the proceeds go to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Thanks to all the sponsors including the headline sponsor, Bank of Texas!"

You don't have to be a kid to enjoy the trains and setup. Very impressive. Lots and lots of manhours to make all the layout. Fun to look for hidden objects in exhibits. Annual exhibit that benefits the Ronald McDonald House. See photos of children and family that have a place to stay near a hospital. Put this down for an annual visit at Northpark.

I started to attend last year since I have a little boy. He was 4 last year. And we had tons of fun. Mostly because I was so fascinated by the amount of details they put into everything. It is very reasonable pricing $7 for adults and for 2-11 yr old it's $4. I heard you can get discounted tickets from Tom Thumb! The display itself isn't huge, but it's enough to entertain kiddos. We literally spend over an hour in here! The only reason why I would give it 4 instead of 5 stars is that the "engineers" that control the train are a little mean. I mean this is obviously for kids mainly. My son is usually curious george so he had tons of questions about the logistics of the train setup and how the trains are being controlled. He wanted to ask questions, and I tried to stop him from bugging them. But you would think after the 5th attempt of him asking a simple question. They would acknowledge him and just answer the question. They were not busy, just standing around in groups and chatting. They were not being asked tons of questions by other kids....They would flat out ignore him or give us the "look". I had to ask firmly and explained he is obsessed with trains and please answer a few questions for us. It would help if they were nicer. There are also a very small area where you can buy key chairs, ornaments, t shirts right before you exit. I would still return since this is a traditions for us every holiday season. And it supports a great cause. I would try to go early because the crowds get crazy as we get closer to Christmas.

I've heard about this for the last few years so we finally checked it out this year. Adult admission was $6. From all the hype I've heard about this being such a Christmas-y event, I was a little disappointed to walk into a large room with a just few different train scenes set up. Some were more elaborate than others. My favorites were the State Fair and the Dallas Skyline (gee, I've grown partial to this city!). Maybe it's because I'm not a kid or maybe because I was never really that into trains but I found the entire exhibit a little underwhelming. The only reason I give it 3 stars is because the kids seemed completely enthralled with it and because it supports Ronald McDonald House which is a great cause.

We drove 40 minutes to get to this and were underwhelmed. It's really small. Also, it's not one big train layout, but several small ones. We were there all of 20 minutes, and that's only because a few of us stopped to take lots of closeup photos. The layouts are mostly well done, though a few seem rushed or unfinished. For what it is, this costs more than it should. At least the money goes to charity.
