I went with a number of friend and colleagues while I was in Dallas to The Ranch. One of my coworkers not only recommended it, but made reservations for all of us to go to dinner. We were a party of 5 and when we came in we were immediately sat a table. This happened even though the place was packed!Loved the atmosphere... very country... very rustic... very homey and Texas feel to it but somehow a refined rustic. Wood everywhere! Fireplaces! Fire-pits! It gave it a warmth both in temperature and ambience that was very appreciated on a cold night. Our waiter was fantastic. We had a number of apps to share including the Lump Crab Dip made with gulf crab, spinach, roasted mushrooms on a grilled flatbread. We also enjoyed the Texas Gulf Ceviche made with redfish, Gulf shrimp, blood orange, cucumbers, avocado, fresno peppers, pineapple, crisp corn chips. Our favorite shared app was the queso blanco with picadillo... omg i pigged out in that. We all had adult beverages, i had the Twisted Texas Lemonade... so wonderful! The highlight for me, though, was the Mesquite Grilled Double Cut Bone in Pork Chop. It was chile brined and had a carnitas style rub service with natural au jus. It was possibly the best pork chop i have ever eaten! I had also incredibly creamy mashed potatoes as the side. All the while we were having this amazing meal there was live music and of course the wonderful conversations we had among colleagues table side.Amazing night! I highly recommend this restaurant!

When visiting Dallas, my in-laws wanted to celebrate their wedding anniversary with steak so my sister-in-law and her husband recommended The Ranch. I'm so glad they did because we had a wonderful time here. We were a party of 15 with 6 kids under 8 and yet they still were able to seat us at a table and take wonderful care of us. They even gave great service to all the kids. I appreciate that they took the time to make them feel welcome & part of the experience. The interior of the restaurant is wonderful. It's dark, but not too dark. Just enough to give it a nice mood. There's also huge vaulted ceilings which really helps keep conversations from other guests from bouncing around and making the place overly loud. You just get the sense that they put plenty of time in to interior design as they did the food. Speaking of which, all of the food we had was wonderful. Portion sizes were MASSIVE. I tried the pork chop and it could easily have been 2-3 meals. All of the steaks that everyone got were similar. Everything was seasoned properly, cooked to perfection, and were delicious from the first bite to the last. I will say, however, that we all felt like the appetizers were slightly over salted. Not to the point that it ruined the dishes, but it could have been toned down a bit. The one thing that is really keeping me from giving this place a 5 star review is that 2 of the children (one who just turned 1 and the other who was 3) ordered the grilled chicken off the kids menu. However, the chefs accidentally put blackened seasoning on both of them so that when the kids bit in to it, the understandably freaked out because it was too spicy for them. The restaurant did make good and got us new dishes for them, but by the time they were able to do that, we had given the kids sides such as French fries and fruit to the point where they weren't hungry anymore and it was late so they were tired & ready for bed. Really wish that mistake hadn't happened on both dishes. We could have just not ordered 2 plates because they both just went right home to my sister-in-law since she was the only local who'd be able to eat the chicken at some point. With all that said, we had a wonderful meal at The Ranch. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The food (other than mentioned above) was plentiful and tasty. The drinks were great, and the whole experience was just one for the books. I highly recommend The Ranch.

Wonderful experience! The staff has always been accommodating and attentive. I do not certain meats and struggle to find places that will modify or substitute and usually have to settle. The Ranch always has an alternative. In addition my young children are always treated as important as the adults. As a matter of fact, we stopped in for a late dinner after an exhausting day of driving, my 6 yo fell asleep. The restaurant put 2 chairs together and off to the side so she could nap while the adults ate. I will always patron and refer a place that makes my kids feel welcome.

I came here on Saturday for a brunch. The waitress was amazing! I forget her name unfortunately but she was a younger African American Woman who told us she too used to work in hotels. My boyfriend and I are both General Managers of Hotels so it was nice to chat with a fellow hotelier. The food was amazing! The mimosa flight was great! The bottle of champagne was really good. I would go out and even buy it at the store. The ambiance was awesome. Very clean and pleasant. A ton of parking, good lighting coming in from the windows. Everyone dressed it cute southern attire like bell bottom Levi's. All in all I would definitely come back. If you go I would say to try the steak salad too! It was delicious :)

Another home run by a local eatery. Boss Lady and I came in on a cold Sunday afternoon and were blown away. First off is the decor. It's very cowboy but not over the top. She loved it, and really loved the roaring fireplace. After being seated, we ordered drinks. Their Whiskey Smash is very refreshing. She had a house salad, which was huge. I had a cup of the venison chili with cornbread... Amazing! Even she liked it (she hates wild game) and said the cornbread was the best she's had in a restaurant. She had the New York strip (medium rare) and seasoned fries. The steak was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious. The fries were flavorful and crispy. The side of brussel sprouts were equally as delicious.I had the blackened catfish and shrimp with roasted Cajun corn. The seafood was seasoned very well and had a slight char to them. The corn was fresh off the cob and mixed with red peppers and other veg... delicious. Did I mention that the food was delicious? For dessert we tried their chocolate chipotle cake and the bread pudding both with a scoop of iced cream. Both were some of the best desserts we've had! Overall we had an amazing meal, a bit pricey, but well worth the cost We're already planning on coming back with friends and family.

Pros:- Service was outstanding! The waitress was super polite, had great recommendations, and was very understanding of having the kids meal out first.- Great menu of food items that includes a kids friendly menu. Brunch options throughout the day. I had the chicken fried steak and it was excellent. Not to mention a selection cocktails. Would recommend the Elk tacos too!- Very roomy and not too loud of a place. Great for big parties and special occasionsCons: - Could be a bit out of the way since its in a strip mall in Dallas. Not too far from DFW airport so might be a good stop by before/afterOverall - Was a very solid experience and would highly recommend others to try

This place has a very very similar menu to haywire. Not sure if it's the same owner or group, but very similar items. The vibe is western. The staff forgot a couple of our items, but they did get those corrected fairly quick. The food is good. I didn't have a steak, as a went for lunch. But I wish I had. If I ever go back, I'll get a steak. I'm sure they are good!

I visited The Ranch while in town to see family. I really liked the country western design and the spacious layout. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. Even without a reservation, we were seated quickly. The food was delicious and full of flavor. I had a great time there.
