Love the Whistle Stop family from the ladies at the front (and Blake), Rita in the kitchen and all the teachers my son has had while attending since 2020. This team at Hickox truly goes out of their way to make the children feel loved, educate them and keep them entertained with great activities every holiday. You guys are amazing!

I can't recommend this daycare. They can't keep their staff longer than a few months and the teacher student ratio durning the summer time is a joke. My kids were always sick and their friends kept coming up with lice. Once I caught a teacher mistreating my 2 year old daughter .. Was excessively yelling at her then pushed her into a corner for a timeout. Teacher should have been fired but instead moved her into another classroom. I'm sure she abused other young kids. Lacey will kick out any child if they have special needs, or let them enroll because the staff can't focus on one child because there are too many kids who need attention. Discrimination at its finest. Far from a Christian school, just a bunch of young kids babysitting younger kids.

Horrible place to take your kids. Since when is it ok for one teacher to be watching 14, two year olds and the other teacher changing a diaper in a completely separate room?!!? Since when is it ok to have book shelves that have wheels, that roll, that topple over with just one push from a single 2 year old? The front office staff will not help their teachers because and I quote "we have our own jobs to do" isn't that their job? To help? To give guidance? All the teachers I've come across at this location seem stressed and worn out which directly affect the kiddos. I completely understand why there's such a high turn over at this school, why no one is willing to stay longer than a month and why parents frequently drop their kids from this place. This school honestly needs to be shut down. My child is frequently sent home with a diaper rash.. meaning diaper changes aren't actually happening as often as they should. More often than not I walk outside to pick my child up and the teachers are standing around chit chatting, NOT SUPERVISING! Instead of teaching the children to sit in chairs, the teachers strap the child to the chair using a rope like seat belt device. My kid comes home with a red welt around her tummy from struggling to get up. Other than this place being super cheap there is no real benefit from sending your child here. It's unsafe and unsanitary smells just like you'd think a daycare would. There is currently a case of lice in the "baby" room and a child from my kids classroom was sent home with a 104 degree temp (because of this we were told to frequently wash our hands and our child's hands? First of all, we do that already.. but What in sam heck is that going to do when meanwhile I'm sending them to a dirty, filthy, germ infested school?) I have nothing but bad things to say about this daycare, April (assistant director) and Leah (director)! Word of advice ladies, instead of sitting around talking about parents and employees.. how about get in a classroom and help these struggling teachers. This is what happens when you value profit over people. I really hope this message gets across to the owners soon because it's a beautiful school ran by tired idiots and incompetent teachers. (P.s. The "Christian curriculum" that is so greatly advertised during tours, is not even been taught) good luck!

I absolutely love Whistle Stop Station in Rowlett. My daughter had the best experience with her teachers, and you could tell that each of her teachers truly cared about her! We moved to Forney, and switched my daughter to By the Barnyard Gate in Forney (owned by the same family). I wish I could say that I love Barnyard as much as I did Whistlestop! So many of the staff and teachers at Barnyard just don't seem to care or want to be there. I NEVER get updates about my child's day at Barnyard, but I got them daily at Whistlestop! Everyone took the time at Whistlestop to get to know me, my family, and my daughter at Whistlestop. Now, at Barnyard...I'm fairly certain no one except my daughter's actual teachers know either of us. In fact, every time someone different has been to pick her up (i.e, my Mom, Dad, mother in law, etc...) no one has bothered to ask them for any information. Thankfully, they are people that were on the list...but what if they weren't?! Needless to say, I wish we could go back to Whistlestop in Rowlett. (We'll be taking my daughter out of Barnyard very soon!) Whistlestop Station in Rowlett is a Phenomenal School!

After our son was injured and neglected by 2 other places back in 2016 we went to Whistle stop on Hickox and found our forever home. He just turned 6 years old and now we have our 3 other children ( 4 yr old, 2 yr old and 1 yr old) attending and they love it there. We recommend it to all of our friends.

My son started here for before and after school and absolutely loved it. When he is on intercession or breaks they take them on field trips and wear them out for us ;) because our son loved it there so much and the teachers and front office staff always are so welcoming, we decided to switch our 2 year old daughter to here. She was at a school before nearby but for only 3 weeks. She was not happy at the old school, but here, she adjusted so quickly and even came out of her shell. She is so happy to go to school and is happy when picking her up. Her 2 teachers are wonderful and she adores them! A+ school

I stopped by yesterday without a appointment to tour this facility, the tour lasted 10 minutes i had to tell her i was done before she was done. My son is a year and a half I only made it to that classroom. Oh man was i disappointed. Every child there had a runny nose ( no one was cleaning them) there was a little girl with her shirt completely wet and i had to ask the director who was giving me the tour if they were planning on changing her, mind you when we entered the room she was getting on to her staff for turning the shelves around from keeping the toys from the children. They seemed understaffed. A teacher there was yelling at a child and putting her in timeout she was certainly overwhelmed. This place was a mess so unprofessional. NO THANKS! 12/04/2018
