The Nature & Retreat Center

Big shout out to the NRC crew, specifically Andi and Savannah, who helped me set up a very successful 70th surprise birthday party for my dad! They were always easy to reach throughout the planning process. Lisa was also very helpful the day of the party!We took full advantage of this multipurpose venue -- cocktail hour in the lobby, photos outside with the lake in the background, buffet set up in the smaller event room and the actual party (dinner, speeches, dancing) in the larger banquet room. This place is a true gem. The City of Plano provides a very affordable and beautiful venue for any special occasion! Highly recommend!

Working in the event service industry in DFW has brought me to countless venues throughout the metroplex. I can say without question that this is one of the best that I have worked with.Not only was the space pristine and elegant, but the overall ambience is very unique, while being situated in a very peaceful and attractive natural setting. The staff is extremely kind and accommodating (especially Andi) and made working an event here very enjoyable.

After getting engaged I started looking at reasonable venues that could accommodate my guest. I reached out via email 4/11/2022 to inquire and received a brochure listing prices. I added The Nature & Retreat Center to my list along with a few others and slowly started visiting each location. When I got to The Nature & Retreat Center on my list to via I reached out via email, and phone. After a little over a week of both my fiancé and I calling we finally got a call back. The Andy Soto assisting Savannah, and Andy stated that the tours ended at 4pm during the week. With that said my fiancé and I would have to take off from work early in order to visit. Andy stated they would send me a calendar invite and would keep in touch to confirm our arrival. I confirmed my email and phone number and ran home to tell my fiancé that I finally got ahold of someone and we have to leave work early the following Wednesday to visit. Well they never called, never sent the invite and when I attempted to call the day of and my calls were left unanswered. Disappointed in the lack of communication and professionalism. Beautiful location at an affordable price. If this is the service that I am receiving now I can only imagine how actually holding my wedding here would be.

I am a corporate event planner based in Dallas. I have personally brought several clients to this gorgeous facility for events. The venue is just 15 minutes north of Dallas but seems like you've stepped into the most calm, serene environment that just can't be found in the busy city! My point of contact has always been Savannah. She is so on top of everything, has amazing ideas to keep events fresh for repeat clients, and has the best laugh to boot!

I can't say enough about The Nature and Retreat Center. It is a hidden gem amongst the hustle and bustle of suburbia. The setting us beautiful and well maintained as is the facility. Our event went off without a hitch thanks to Savannah and her staff. From planning to execution, they saw to all our needs. Our guests loved it. I highly recommend hosting an event here.

We had our daughters Quinceanera in their event space. There are a couple options for rental, we choose to rent the entire wing of the building. (This includes 4 rooms - one large double room, one single room and a conference room). This allowed us to be able to use a DJ. If you do not choose to have a DJ they have a pretty good sound and audio visual system built in. There are kitchen facilities with warm and cold storage/prep. No in house catering which worked well for us. We did not have alcohol at the event, but if we did, the price goes up considerably due to the requirement to have an off duty officer hired for the event. The night went well but i am only giving 3 stars versus 5 for the following reasons. 1 - Although we arranged ahead of time, we needed to setup much of the tables ourselves 2 - Getting insurance was a pain until we found a website they would do it. The planning process didn't help in these regards and we had to figure this out ourselves. 3 - Maybe due to the new facility, they are still not sure on all their rules so you have to feel our what is allowed and not as far as decorations, etc. 4 - Although they stated they had a cleaning staff, all cleaning had to be done by us including sweeping, mopping, taking our the trash, etc. 5 - The reason the cleaning requirement was odd where we had to clean so much was due to the state of the restrooms when we arrived. They were already dirty with trash overflowing and minimum paper towels. They even ran out during the event and I had to ask for more. Overall, the venue itself is wonderful but the procedures and processes for the event is very cumbersome. Although we saved money over other similar local venues, we worked for it, that is for sure.

The Plano Nature and Retreat Center is the absolute best place to hold any kind of event. The flexibility of the space combined with the staff are just amazing. I would recommend Savannah and Laura to anyone.

We had a small event here recently after the start of the pandemic. I cannot say enough good things about Ms. Savannah who helped us navigate these uncertain times. The venue was squeaky clean, cost effective, and over all beautiful! Savannah helped answer all of our crazy questions and was delightful from start to finish to work with! I would definitely recommend to all of my friends.
