So earlier this week, my wife called about making reservations for a Londoner Tea that was taking place today. When she called to make reservations, the man who answered the phone said that reservations were not necessary. Upon arriving today with her guest at the designated time...she was told an assortment of things...by one person that RESERVATIONS WERE MANDATORY and by another server that the event was more than likely cancelled (based on the response from FB this is probably what happened). Although the place was rather full, no one seemed to be partaking of "tea" or the items listed on the event invitation on Facebook. One of the servers comped the ladies a couple of mimosas, but really...management and staff need to have a better handle on posted events...even if it was just a sign on the door! This did kind of ruin the Christmas spirit for the ladies today! Details8 people respondedEvent by The Londoner Pub Dallas5321 E. Met a friend for lunch before a movie. Fun London pub loud soccer matches on throughout added to the ambiance of being in a pub. They have a nice lunch specials. I tried the avocado salad and steak sandwich with no bread. Food was good and nice service.

I ordered the haddock and chips. My wife ordered the steak and ale pie. Mine tasted just like being in London. My wife cut her steak with her spoon. This is why I'm giving this spot 5 stars.

I was on the phone with my friend and he was looking for a place to eat. It was after 9:30 and he was driving so I looked up places that were open and suggested The Londoner. Big mistake. He probably should have left when he realized he was the only Black person in the establishment. But no big deal, as I'm personally used to that. But this low rating is because while he was eating and having drinks at the bar, a customer came in with a dog. The bartender pet the dog and afterwards, went back to serving drinks without washing her hands. Gross!! My friend was disgusted and I was grossed out while listening to this happen. I suggested he mention it to a manager. But he didn't as it's a small establishment and the staff seemed pretty close-knit. Hopefully this was a one off.

A bit upset when my receipt came. I originally asked for a Sauvignon Blanc and asked if that was part of the Happy Hour. My waiter said, "Yes, I think so!" So I proceeded to order two glasses during my time there. When the receipt came, both drinks were charged original price. I inquired about the prices so she went to ask her boss then came back and said they weren't part of Happy Hour. I was surprised, but I didn't say anything, paid my due and left. I wanted to complain to a manager, but I also didn't want to stay any longer than I needed to. It was my fault I didn't confirm 100% before I ordered my drinks.

The Londoner has replaced Trinity Hall in Mockingbird Station. That was a shame because Trinity Hall had been there for ages and was one of my favorite bars in Dallas. Alas, it succumbed to the effects of the pandemic and although it tried to reopen as the pandemic waned, it did not make it. The Londoner is British-themed (hence the name). The new owners did not change much if anything inside. The inside looks like an English pub, and since I have been to England/London almost 10 times I know. Same dark interior, same heavy wooden booths. There may have been a few more TVs than what I remember. What has changed is that Trinity Hall was a bar with an extensive beer list that served good food. The Londoner now seems to be a restaurant that serves a few beers. The beer list is quite short and there are just a handful of genuinely English beers. Most of the selections were typical American beers you would find in any bar. I did not eat but my friend had fish and chips and they looked really good, not heavily battered or greasy. He said they were good. The menu looked roughly similar to what Trinity Hall had. We did not go for Happy Hour so maybe they have discounted beers, I don't know. My bottle of Oatmeal Stout was $10 which is a bit pricey IMO. Our servers were friendly and efficient. I am not quite ready to embrace The Londoner in the way I did Trinity Hall, but I will likely return and maybe try some food.
