Very disappointed. Booked The guild on Elm street but they changed to The mint house overnight and not much information what to do next, so I decided to book this one in uptown for my daughters 18th birthday party. Normally you'd get an email the day before or the day of about how to get in once you get there. So no email/text. 10am the day of, I call like 5 times it gave me a phone number to text. I texted asking for the info also needed parking pass. Nothing no response. Now I have an 18year old freaking out. Thank God for Aloft hotel downtown Dallas that came through with a very spacious room and clean. Customer service was excellent with Aloft. I loved the experience from the other Guild last year, the whole thing about keyless and no contact, but next time I think I need humans. DO NOT Book " The Guild in Katy" uptown dallas.Still haven't heard from them. This was for 01/14. My daughter had a great party though. Thank God for "Plan Bs"

I typically do not write about hotel stays...However, this is a unique experience I needed to share. I came across The Guild when I was looking for an extended stay. To my surprise it was an apartment for half the price of a hotel. Score! Now keep in mind, though this was found on a hotels.com, it was an apartment with all the amenities! 1bed 1 bath / living room / full kitchen and balcony. The kitchen was stocked with necessities (pots, plated, glasses, utensils etc) to make a meal. Score 2!Now get this! Stack washer and dryer! Even had pods for your wash if you didn't have any.The bed was a super comfortable Needle and Thread memory foam mattress with crisp and clean linens made by parachute. Score 3!Lastly the bathroom. It was basic but clean and stocked with super soft towels and tea tree shower gel and shampoo. Score 4!Now why just the four stars if I am making this sound so wonderful? Well... the site showed a pool. There was none as it was under construction. During my stay, there was construction legit right outside the bedroom window. This made sleeping in impossible. I would have been fine if the communication was made about those 2 issues. So NO SCORE FOR YOU! :)All in all it was a great stay and I totally recommend. I will definitely stay at The Guild in Dallas and other destination where available. Welp! Onto the next!

Pros: great area, restaurants, bars, Whole Foods within walking distance, beautiful apartment, clean, has great amenities, feel really at home, can request for food to be stocked in your kitchen for an extra charge Cons: check in was through your phone (someone texts you the information instead of email), it was a bit scary to drop a couple hundred on a "hotel" and you don't receive any type of confirmation email or anything, you don't get room info until hours before you arrive, I requested for my fridge to be stocked with some food (you can when you book your room) and when I got there it wasn't stocked, my hot water also wasn't working BUT (PRO) they upgraded me to an even better room on a higher floorOverall: I enjoyed my stay. It's truly a beautiful place. I didn't take the things that happened to me too harshly... but it still would've been a little easier without the bumps. I'd definitely stay here again now that I know how it works!

We stayed here for our one year anniversary and it was definitely more room than we thought. I wish I had stayed in a place like this when we went to San Francisco. This place was humongous, basically we were renting out an apartment for the time we were there. They definitely take you to a five-star level of convenience inside. The location was in the Uptown District of Dallas, Texas. Which was excellent for walking around and enjoying a evening out. The check-in process is a little different than normal and that's the only thing you have to be more focused on. The parking we chose was underground and in the gated area you just needed to register your vehicle and pay the nightly fee. All these things can be done just by your phone and texting your information to whoever is monitoring you doing this time. This is the future of Hotel rental service. Will be choosing this location or other locations like them in the future when we are traveling once again

The Guild is certainly an interesting place to stay and an interesting experience. In short, you are essentially renting a small apartment or a loft and you are close to a lot of neat things in Dallas, and on the flip side, it is a very unorthodox and somewhat confusing check-in process that may worry first timers to The Guild. So let's go over the bad/odd first. Why? Because it is a short list. The check-in is very unusual. I booked on-line. It requires uploading your driver's license and ID proof, kind of like what you wouls do if you went to an AirBnB place. You are going to be dealing with "staff" via text. They text you the day of your stay and you'll get the code to get into the building. If you have questions, you text them. To their credit, The Guild staff responds promptly. To help first timers, you park in The Guild's parking garage. You'll be texted and emailed the code to get into the door in the garage and another code for the door to your room. You go into your room and get a key card. The key card is for the garage so you can move your cae to the guest parking area underground. Then you take an elevator back up to your room. It is really that easy, but not knowing what to expect up front can be daunting. The other two knocks are this: there was construction going on to the pool area, but the contractors had huge garbage storage boxes, so when we went to the balcony, it looked really bad. My girlfriend waa delighted to see a recors player in the room with a small selection of records, but the records were in poor condition and skipped when played.Beyond that, this place is awesome. We had an entire kitchen to work with (that we didn't use). The coffee in the room was very tasty (according to my girlfriend because I don't drink coffee). The bathroom was large. There was even a washer and dryer stacked up in one of the closets with laundry soap if we had needed it! The room was stylish, boasted an usual, but comfy, couch, bar stools, the aforementioned full kitchen ans dishwasher, a walk-in closet to the bedroom, and even a baby playpen located in the closet! We didn't need that, but that is awesome that it is there.I could very easily see people staying here multiple days and having clean laundry for when they leave to return home or continue on their trip. Checking out involved putting our key cars into a drop box and shooting over a picture of us doing so.Overall, I was very impressed with the room we stayed in and I think the price was very fair, even with the construction going on. I have to give a knock for the construction and the records not working, but everything else was awesome. I'm in Dallas for business every few years and I will definitely be looking to book at The Guild the next time around -- especially now that I've got the check-in process squared away.

First time staying at a Guild property. Saw the option on hotels.com and couldn't resist staying in my own apartment for half the price of a hotel room! Everything is automated and there is no staff. You receive a text message that provides the address, directions, the code to enter the building, the code to take the elevator and the code to get into your apartment. I was pleasantly surprised by how simple and seamless the entire process was! I walked in to my apartment and was delighted by the size of the apartment. It is a legitimate 600 sq. ft. apartment with a full kitchen, cool furnishings, a deck, and a washer and dryer (they even provide laundry detergent). The complex is also close to shops and restaurants. All in all, a great experience!

I was asked to go to Dallas for 2 weeks. It was easy to find, getting to your room is a bit different. But it wasn't difficult by any means. When I walked into the room, it felt like home. It made the stress of being away from home minimal. Having a full kitchen, a washer and dryer and super high speed wifi were my favorite perks. There is construction going on but that's during work hours and did not cause me any trouble while I was actually in the room relaxing. Super market, restaurants and bars all with in walking distance. Honestly though, best long term stay I have ever had. I highly recommend it! I will be back!

I want to start with the con to get it out of the way- the guild prides itself in being a home away from home and does not feel like a hotel. It is true and it feels like an apartment. HOWEVER, take away the renovated rooms and I think the building has old bones. I was kept up late and woken up at 4am because of the upstairs resident. It's the designated quiet hours but just the mere act of walking around shook the room. So great concept, great location, clean room. You'll get all of those from the other reviews and I agree. It wasn't the loud nightlife that got to me. It's the fact that the rooms are paper thin that things literally rattled when someone walked around upstairs. This is my first stay here and want to stay positive. But it's not even 6am and it sounds like a war zone in this room (yes im still here and im writing this)

So, I am giving this a 2 star rating and hear me out. I selected this because of the reviews and the pictures looked like this was a nice place to stay. I went through Air BnB and have done this in the past as well in different cities. Air Bnb asked for my info and had to send them a picture of my license before, no big deal. Now for the reason I am giving this 2 stars. After Air Bnb asked for that info the texting started like the other reviews stated. What I thought was very strange was the people texting me wanted my same info I sent to Air Bnb plus my photo and other info. If they are using Air Bnb they should be sent that from Air Bnb and should not be asked for a personal photo of me. They explained that Air Bnb does not give them that info which in fact they should get and I verified this with Air Bnb. I was unable to stay here due to work reasons so I had to change my trip. Asked with help on cancelling through the person who was texting me and they said I needed to go through Air Bnb. Once again, the place looks nice and the reviews are what drew me to this place but the customer service was lacking and the fact they needed more info than Air Bnb required and telling me they don't get that info from them when they do was off putting. Also needing a personal photo from me I was uncomfortable with since Air Bnb doesn't require, why would the Guild.

Very cute, trendy, and spacious apartment style hotel all all amenties you need. Staff is very friendly and responsive. They text you all the information you need before arriving to your room. I loved that. The bed was very comfortable. My family and I truly enjoyed everything. We will be back. Uptown Dallas is a wonderful area.
