The Guava Tree Cuban Cafe & Cantina

If you are in a mood for brunch,but want to miss the brunch crowd, Guave tree is the place to come. Every Saturday, they have a unique brunch taco that they serve for the day. The owners never miss a step when it comes towards flavors of the food. Today I ordered the #Notsocuban brunch taco which included Pork Belly Al Pastor/ Grilled Pineapple/ Crema Verda/ Fresh Onion & Cilantro. I also ordered the February drink which is the "Loves Me, Loves Me Not" which included Vodka, Leche liquor, simple syrup and another item that I forgot. To end my brunch fest I ordered a limited time Chocolate Covered Strawberry Jello shot which was absolutely delicious.Ratings:#Notsobrunchtaco- 5/5 Loves Me, Loves Me not drink- 3.5/5 Chocolate Covered Strawberry Jello shots- 5/5As a regular, I always love coming to this love warming atmosphere. First timer here! It was such a fun vibe on a gorgeous, sunny day. What we got: cafe con leche, guava lemonade, ham & cheese croquettes, Cubano with plantain chips, and the steak sandwich with Yukon fries. The space is tight tight tight. Brace yourself and have some grace for the staff when you arrive. It's Cuban food! Be open and try something new. Our favorites were the Guava lemonade (super refreshing), the croquettes, and the steak sandwich. My Cubano was a bit on the drier side and now I know when ordering a cafe con leche here to expect it to be very sweet. Enjoyed walking around Downtown McKinney as well. Lovely area!!

My fiancé's Cuban, so of course, we had to give this spot a try! We've been here twice and everything is really tasty! The yucca fries and the sauce that goes with it is my favorite, while he loves the Cubano. The frozen mojito is probably what gives this spot the extra kudos it deserves. I could drink them allllll day! The staff is super sweet! Their customer service is a 10/10. The only thing I wish they'd change is the oil they use. Seed oils are horrible for you and are super inflammatory. It's the only thing stopping me from coming here more often. I'd pay more to have my yucca fries fried in olive or avocado oil. Dare to dream.

Such a happy, Beautiful location. Best Cuban restaurant in Downtown McKinney I learned, from the artist @ahomesartstuido on Instagram of this mural painting " the woman in this mural is Ana. Onel's The owner of Guava tree truck, His Mother, the woman who taught him delicious Cuban recipes. The Cuban sandwiches here are delicious and my top favorite lunch. Drinks here are super yummy too!

The food and service is wonderful and the drinks were delicious. Your taste buds will doing the happy dance.

Hot dog Thursdays are my favorite days i still need to try everything else but i can't stray away from the hot dog of the week

This was my first time visiting the guava tree and I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked it!!Ambiance: It is a very small and cute restaurant! There is tons of picnic style seating outside but there are only a handful of tables/chairs and high top seats inside. There is louder noise level from the music playing on the speakers.Service: The service was incredible!! They kept checking up on us and were very accommodating. Literally the sweetest people work here and it made me feel very welcomed.Cuban sandwich: The sandwich was sooooo good! There is a unique flavor profile with each bite. The Cuban sandwich is like an amazing mix of slow roasted pork and burst of flavor!!Plantain chips: The chips here are incredible! They came out nice and warm and I couldn't stop eating them. I seriously wanted to buy more just to snack on them later.Guava Lemonade: This was my first time trying guava flavored things. It was also so incredible!! Its sweet but also very subtle and it wasn't overpowering like other fruit lemonades from other restaurants.

Amazing! We went and got food and took it to the winery.Food was so tasty, very unique, great flavors! Service was phenomenal. So friendly and helpful. Not just trying to push you in and push you out, really making you feel comfortable and wanting to hang around and chitchat. Would definitely recommend! And will return for sure!

Honestly if I could give 10 stars I would. This is legit in my top 3 favorite places across all DFW. I've been a regular for a couple of years now, and this place has always been consistent with the quality and flavor of food.My husband and I always get either the El Cubano sandwich or the Pan con Lechon, two of the best sandwiches I had in my life. It feels like entering in a family's home, heartwarming, kind and with good food; the staff is amazing, I always get the best experience every time I go. If I lived closer to McKinney I'd go every week! But if you can try, please do, and support this amazing business with incredible food!

Tostones are fire and Cubano has amazing flavor! Nice place for a weekend meal + cafe con leche
