I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately it just wasn't it and while I almost always give places a 2nd try I do not plan on going back here.Loud does not do justice for the music. You can barely hear the person sitting next to you over the music and/or the folks singing and dancing in between the tables. This place is an upscale RLs Blues Palace which I probably wouldn't have cared had the food been good but it was not. What's not pictured is the food from the buffet. Our reservation was at 1230 and they open at 12. The food on the buffet was not ready until 1 and somehow it was cold. We also ordered off the menu and it took close to if not over a hour to get that food. The rice in the gumbo was over cooked and for the price as well as the amount of the gumbo you actually received was utterly ridiculous!

Don't do it!! French Quarter Met some of my colleagues for dinner to celebrate our year. This place is literally tucked away in the corner of a shopping center. The ambience is nice. Smooth jazz playing to set the vibe. For starters we began with drinks. My colleague started with "N'awlins", the "Who Dat", and I had the "Bourbon Street". Service was a little slow as they were training a waitress. The drinks were good. A little pricey, but good. When I asked the waiter what was in the "Signature Yam Sauce" and the waiter didn't know gave me a red flag . We placed our order. My colleague ordered the "Lamb chops", "Cajun Salmon and Shrimp", and I had the "Bayou Steak and Lobster". Shortly after placing our order, they informed us that they didn't have the lamb chops. My colleague went with the "Ribeye" and sides. After sitting and enjoying our drinks and good conversation, we were informed that they didn't have lobster tails, ribeyes, either. We decided to pay for our drinks and dines somewhere else.

The French Quarter is a new nice upscale southern restaurant with a Nawlins twist. The ambiance was classy as they played soft jazz music in the background (some nights, they will have a live performance), had white cloth tables and a well-dressed staff. The vibe is perfect for a date night or ladies' night out. The owner was very nice and welcoming! He greeted us at the table and ensured we had everything we needed. I started dinner with the Voodoo drink, which was refreshing; it's made with tequila and blueberry. The Swamp was also good and tasted like something I would drink on the beach. Both were strong and enjoyable. For the appetizer, I shared the soulfood eggroll, which had greens, and mac and cheese served with a candied yam dipping sauce. That flavor-bomb concoction was delicious! I loved the batter because it reminded me of a Monte Cristo, and thankfully, it wasn't greasy. I also loved how the greens tasted. Insert *chef's kiss*!For my entree, I ordered lamb chops, which didn't include a side for $42. All the mains are ala cart, and the sides are served family-style. I wasn't a fan of the dirty rice because it was mushy; however, I did enjoy the fried shrimp and grits and would come back for that! Now the beignets needed some MAJOR work. We exchanged it for the cobbler, and the dessert redeemed itself. Overall, I had a great experience! I will always support Black-owned businesses and encourage others to do the same. I wish this new establishment continued success.

My friends and I had quite the experience. While I really wanted to like this place unfortunately it just did not hit the mark for me. The music was way to loud and the profanity was not appropriate for the children dining in the restaurant, the food was not made consistently each time, the drink prices are way to high for what they serve you, and serving food on mirrors is unsanitary. Upon arrival I felt that the interior was nicely decorated. The restaurant felt very warm and inviting. My friend saw their delicious looking food on TikTok and shared the video with the group and that's what made us want to give it a try. We dined in on a Sunday afternoon, prior to coming I went online to look at their menu and decided I would be ordering the stuffed chicken. When I looked at the menu at the table I was surprised to see a menu different than what was shown on their website. Please be warned that if you are coming before 4pm on Sunday they offer a brunch buffet for $50 along with a selection of pastas, grits, and chicken dishes that you can choose from. Initially I was disappointed because I was set on getting the stuffed chicken but after seeing the chicken and French toast or chicken and waffles options I was satisfied with the offerings. Because I was torn between both options I asked our waiter which he would choose between the two and he praised the French toast and showed me a picture of what it looked like so that's what I ordered. Our food slowly came out a few dishes at a time when my meal came out a plate of chicken and waffles was placed in front of me. I brought it up to the waiter who told me that they had run out of French toast but figured I would be okay with the waffle since I had inquired about it. While he was right to assume that would be the case, I would have appreciated being informed. My original thought on my meal is that the food looked appetizing. I was a little taken aback by the fact that it was served on a mirror. I'm not sure how sanitary this type of plating option is. Despite my hesitation I said a prayer and dug in. I first took a bite of the waffle and was very satisfied. By far one of the best waffles I've had in a very long time. It was nice and fluffy and had hints of vanilla to it. The chicken on the other hand was not that great, the breading was flavorful but the chicken itself was not seasoned. My first bite was okay then when I went in to cut out another bite I noticed bloody liquid pulse out I lifted up the meat to see that the chicken breast had not been cooked all the way through. I quickly brought it to the server's attention who quickly took it away apologized and had the kitchen make me a new meal. The second meal that came out was much better. The manager eventually made his way to our table because there were some other issues with the food in my party. He heard our concerns and brought us a round of shots.

As a frequent visitor of Tasty Tails, we were pleasantly surprised by the interior transformation. Very ELEGANT and CLASSY decor! Loved the Ambience. Soft Jazz and R&B playing through the speakers. The owner (from Northern, LA) was present and very welcoming, mingling with the guest and passing out Libation shots. We had our share of Starters - Deep Fried Asparagus, Double Fried Calamari, Mardi Gras Oysters, and Canal Egg-rolls. Shared the Fish and Shrimp w/ Grits entree. We also enjoyed the Mimosa Carafe w/ a Juice Flight.Pricy but TASTY!! Worth a visit... Although we opted for A La Carte there was also a Breakfast Buffet option for $50 which included 2 Mimosas.

Not a fan of this place. They charge a 10% charge on top of their over priced pasta. Definitely a skip! Pasta was cold that was masked by warm sauce, shrimp was over seasoned with salt only thing half way decent was the catfish. If you want fine dining go further south to Preston Hollow/Park cities. Places like this wouldn't make it a month where people expect and know real upscale dining. I came up this way from Preston Hollow hoping to find a good cajun restaurant. I didn't!!Did I mention it was a skip? This restaurant tries real hard to be something it isn't. It's in a shopping center but charges Al biernat's prices. 10% additional charge to eat in doors!!!

We were super excited about this place. The food was good. The service was terrible only because they need more staff. Two people cannot bartend, host, and serve all the food with a restaurant full of guests.

Unfortunately, all the other bad reviews are pretty correct. Also, why do ya'll insist on using so much dried parsley on everything? I won't be back, but maybe give it a try and form your own opinions. Parking 10/10: Easy to navigate lot. Decor/Ambiance 8/10: Decorated nice probably a bit much for some, but I didn't mind. Yes it is loud inside but not obnoxiously loud. Service 7/10: Our waitress was great however, service was very rushed. Which was odd, since we were the only people in the restaurant at the time. Drinks 7/10: They tasted fine, but were pretty basic for the price. Food 4/10: Eggrolls are more like dry mac & cheese with a tiny bit of greens baked in some day old bread sprinkled with parsley. Yams were good but they're more like mashed sweet potato. Salmon was great. Grits were terrible, just no. Lamb chops were mediocre. And lobster mac & cheese wasn't the best.

I'm in town from Los Angeles visiting family and they decided we should try this restaurant (we're all originally from Louisiana). My dad made an Open Table reservation for Sunday, December 18 at 7:30 p.m. We drive to the restaurant and noticed that there wasn't much foot traffic. We walked up and the front door was locked. There were no signs saying the restaurant was closed and the store hours on the door had 10 p.m. as the Sunday closing time. We could see a handful of people inside of the restaurant, which has very dark due to the tinted windows, so I called while we were still in the parking lot to find out exactly what was going on. I spoke to someone who asked what time we made our reservation for before putting me on hold. The second person I spoke to asked me what time of day I made the reservation because at 5:30 p.m. they contacted OpenTable to find out how many reservations they had left. When they didn't see any past a certain time they decided the restaurant should be closed. I then asked why they were closing early and was told they were having a "holiday party for the employees." I asked if I was speaking to the manager and the person replied, "yes." I asked him his name and he said, "David" (information that should have been told to me at the beginning of the phone call). I got the sense that David was more concerned about the upcoming holiday party and did not care about potential customers visiting his newly established restaurant and making a wrong into a right. I even asked him if they would contact OpenTable to update their listed hours and he told the restaurant had been closing at 7:30 p.m. for the last FEW WEEKS! I'm not sure how they expect customers to know that information when every platform they use for their restaurant has varying hours of operation (see screenshots). I did ask if there was anything that could be or would be done for the inconvenience and David simply said, "no. But if you come back you can ask for me and we can comp a dessert...we will be celebrating our employees tonight." I said, "okay, sounds good" and hung up. I'm not sure when the restaurant decided to have a company holiday party, but it was poorly planned out. Needless to say I will not be back nor will I or myfamily recommend this place to anyone we know. We ended up going to another restaurant which I'm 99% sure is their competition. They need a complete overall on the customer service and communications/public relations end or they will have major issues down the line.
