You absolutely have to check out this hidden gem at the shacks! My experience at the empanada joint was nothing short of amazing. Ever since my trip to Tulsa, Oklahoma, I've been searching for empanadas that could match that experience, and let me tell you, I hit the jackpot! I ordered the six empanadas combo, which came with two delicious sauces for free. The star of the show was definitely the ham and cheese--oh my goodness, they were incredible! I also tried two mouthwatering chicken empanadas and two others that I can't quite recall, but they were equally delightful. I think I've just found my new guilty pleasure to indulge in when I'm not training for a marathon! Seriously, you have to check out this place; it's my new favorite spot, and I bet you'll love it too!

I love a well made empanada and these qualify. They're really good. They have Colombian and Puerto Rican Flags, so I'm inferring that's type of empanadas these are. I've been to Puerto Rican numerous times and I'm familiar with a good empanada from there and from living in NYC. These were very good. However I have a few areas of improvement that's needed for this restaurant. I came here with my wife and she noticed the cook coming out to deliver food while having her cooking gloves in and the using those same gloves to open the door. My wife pointed it out and she denied this happen. We almost left at this point, but the cashier got the lady to change her gloves. When handling food you can't be touching door handles and then putting empanadas in bags for customers. I also think the prices to portion ratios isn't worth it. I know who to make my own empanadas, I get that it's delicate and a decent amount of work to make in bulk however they're not filling and small in size. You would need about 4 to probably to feel you didn't have a snack and instead had a meal. At 4.50 an empanada I can't deem this reasonable. This is more of an appetizer than a meal. Even though the empanadas are tasty, the crust is flaky and fried well the flavors is very good and the meat is tender. I had the beef and cheese. I won't be back for the aforementioned reasons.

This was a quick and easy experience downtown. Nice clean place. Empanada was served hot and fresh. The crust was properly cooked through. The ground beef on the beef chimichurri empanada I ordered was well seasoned. Roasted peppers added some zest. The pie had just the right amount of cheese inside. Will return with a bigger appetite next time and try a variety

The empanadas are so flaky, crispy, crunchy on the outside! I typically get the spicy beefy cheese empanada and I love the flavor. Sorry, took a bite out before I could take a picture.

They are open and you have to come try them!! Located at the shacks off of Windhaven. They are so good no matter what you like. I've been here twice this week and plan on making it a monthly or biweekly treat. It's that good.

The empanadas are very good. A crisp flaky bite is what you get from the empanadas. The service was good. And the ambiance was laid back and inviting. I got the beef & cheese, the traditional beef, and the beef & sweet potato empanada. I would say I do wish my beef and cheese one had more cheese in it. I felt like I couldn't really tell it was there. But I would definitely go back to this place and try the other ones!

One of the best empanadas I have had (and I've had many before). I used to live in CA and ate empanadas all the time and was looking for a new spot to go to. So glad I found this place! They give you two options: deep fried or baked. I highly recommend deep fried! The crust is so flaky, with the perfect texture. The filling is moist and seasoned just right. The beef comes with a chimichurri dipping sauce, and the chicken comes with a spicy Mayo sauce. Perfect combo. I recommend placing your order ahead of time to pick up. I will be back for sure!

Awesome empanadas! The fillings are fantastic! Spicy beef and cheese was our favorite, but they're all good. The sweet potato and black bean was very good. The fried plantain was excellent. I'd never tasted them before. The dessert ones we tried, guava and cheese and the peach were outstanding too. Totally recommend you try this a privately owned restaurant.
