Fun workshop environment. Took the watercolor class and it wasn't formal training like I'd hoped but I had fun drinking and painting with others.

I took a fall class with Randy Groden last fall and had a great time. He helped me complete a large/ambitious painting. He was very encouraging when I would get frustrated and helped me stay on track. We had a great time in the class. Randy is very talented and his class has a very fun and relaxed atmosphere.

This place is a good way to START learning pottery.. However, if you plan on advancing and learning more, take one or two sessions and move on. I'm sure all of the teachers are not like this, but our teacher loved to talk to us like we were little children. I'd ask a simple yes or no question, and then receive a 20 minute lecture. Most of the time, I already knew the simple information I was being lectured upon because it's been repeated so many times. If you're a hands on learner, be prepared to get frustrated. It's almost like being in college again. You sit and listen to a lecture, they orally recite the process step by step while you watch, and when it's time to get going, you've forgotten it all. And when you try to go back and ask about a certain step, you'll have to sit through another round of lectures. Also, be prepared to get judged for what YOU choose to create with the clay and time YOU paid for. My friend requested I make her an ash tray, and when I asked the teacher how to go about making one, they responded, "Well.. Not to sound SNOOTY, but you can do MUCH BETTER than an ash tray.." So I just learned how to do it myself. Not to mention how long the turnaround is to get your pieces fired and finished. I started taking classes about 5 months ago, and I still don't have all of the pieces I made. I come back every week to check on pieces and there are times when nothing is done, there are times when 2-3 pieces are done. I learned a lot of the basic steps necessary at this location, however I got to a point where I felt like I was teaching myself. The facility itself is nice, lots of room to work and get things done. Again, a good place to get started if you just want to try something new.

The Craft Guild is truly a magical place. I have taken two classes each in class and clay. My wonderful instructor Linda has helped me create amazing glass sculptures and even some very nice soap dishes! Cannot recommend more highly the numerous classes they have in glass, jewelry making, metal work, painting, book binding, and clay!!! The craft guild and the people in it have added true joy in my life

I have taken one metal arts class--beginning jewelry fabrication and am starting my next class. This is a terrific place to learn the art of jewelry making. I have taken a couple of 3 hour classes at various businesses and they just don't compare to the education that you will receive here. I have learned so much and absolutely enjoyed every minute. I'm 60, you're never to old to learn something new. My instructor is Jeffrey Duryea, he is a wonderful instructor. He is very knowledgeable, flexible and patient. Flexible meaning he understands there are always more than one way to do things. Try this amazing school, you will be glad that you did!

Randy Groden is an excellent and fun painting instructor. Three friends and I took his class that was in the evenings. Some of us had experience, and some of us did not. Randy was very helpful, encouraging, and just a joy to be around. I've taken several classes at the Craft Guild and bus say he is one of the best instructors are in. We all created paintings worth hanging on our walls!

Love my drawing and watercolor classes. Instructors and lessons were well planned. Individual critiques were always positive and built around how I could improve.

Cannot recommend taking a class with them enough--they really want you to learn to make what you want to make. They don't just bring you in with a pre-planned project, they will work with you to make a project that you're delighted to take home. Linda has gone above and beyond to make sure I was set up to succeed, and I am so happy with my stained glass piece. I want to take a class on everything--their selection is immense. I'm also very excited to see the expansion completed. While the classrooms were never small, it will be nice to have even larger dedicated spaces to each craft.
