The Cotton Mill in McKinney is such a unique and charming venue. I was there for a wedding and reception, and the setting was absolutely perfect for the occasion. The mix of exposed brick, tall windows, and wooden beams gave the space a warm, rustic feel, and the natural light during the ceremony made it even more special. The layout worked really well, with plenty of room for dining and dancing without feeling cramped. The outdoor areas also made for some really pretty photo backdrops. Everything felt thoughtful and well-organized, and the staff stayed on top of things, which made the whole event flow smoothly. It's definitely a memorable place for an event, especially if you appreciate a mix of history and character in a venue.

The entire north Texas area was at one time one of the largest cotton producers in the United States. This cotton mill manufactured the largest amount of denim material in the world at one time. The structure sat abandoned for years until enterprising entrepreneurs repurposed it as office space and venue.I recommend you visit to inspect the " bones" of the original construction. Artifacts of it's former manufacturing self are strewn about.Check it out!

This is a cute venue. I love the history behind it. Although it's a bit high priced compared to other places when you look at space, ceiling height, accommodations etc. In the reception area the ceiling is lower than other places and there's a lot of pillars that make the space seem cramped. The lighting where they request you to set up the wedding party table is very dimly lit so you'll need to bring some sort of lighting. There isn't a ton of parking so make sure your guests carpool. You're required to use caterers off their list. I think the list had about 6-7 on it. The room they offer for weddings inside is a hallway. Literally a hallway. It's definitely not worth the $1,500 price tag they put on it. I would recommend using the outdoor space if you can. It's spacious and looks like a spot you'd have a wedding. It's perfect for an October wedding! The woman who showed us the venue spent maybe ten minutes with us. We felt a little rushed. But then again it was 7pm so maybe she was ready to go home. We never did get a follow up call or email from her. I didn't quite get that warm feeling from them. It felt very corporate. They book up pretty quick so you'll want to schedule your date here way in advance. Overall a cute place to have a wedding. Just make sure you hire someone to bring in lighting and you book your wedding not in peak season or you'll have to book two years out.Update:I received a message from the woman who did my tour. 1) She addressed me as Samantha. My name is Stefanie. Therefore she showed a lack of attention to detail2) She stated she was in a hurry because she was showing 2 groups at the same time. During our tour she told us we were the last group and there was no one here so we were free to wander around wherever. We never saw a second group or couple looking around. 3) She was confused by my comment about lack of parking. Due to her lack of information and not telling us they apparently have a second parking lot, how were we to know there was additional parking elsewhere other than the one small lot we saw when we pulled in? 4) Regarding the head table. During our tour she told us that's where they put the head table. There was no comment about it being able to be elsewhere. She said that's where it will be set up for your event so it didn't even sound negotiable. My review still stands.

Got married here 11/17/18 and wouldn't change a thing!! This historic venue is beautiful and needs minimal Decor for any event. Reception hall comes with some lighting and in my opinion, doesn't need many additions. Round tables are provided with the rental cost but the farm tables and any other decorative rental items are additional. We used the farm tables and they were worth the extra $750 for the bundle (they had been newly refinished and look brand new). The dye room made for the perfect ceremony area--we risked a Nov wedding outside in Texas and got lucky. Our guests are all still talking about how beautiful this venue was. Btw, the best for last, Erin and Darla at the venue were also fantastic to work with!!

Amazingggg place to get photographs done. We had our engagement session here and were stunned with the results. Has a rustic feel and makes for a unique experience. My co-worker also got married here and was pleased, so it's probably a great place for any event.P.S. Yes, it used to be an actual cotton mill.

I used this venue to film for the company I was working for at the time. It's an absolutely beautiful historic building with tons of character. If I lived in the area I wouldn't even hesitate when picking a venue to host events, this would be it. There's some areas of the building that hold offices for various companies - companies which I'm very jealous of. Overall a great spot.

Had my amazing wedding here. Happiest day of my life. Beautiful venue. But FYI, there is no bridal dressing room. They give you the manager's office. No problem. Unless they bring people through to take a tour while you and your bridesmaids are trying to get dressed. Whoops. There's also a lot of Texana decor that we needed to cover since that's not our style. Staff was very helpful, for the most part.

The first decision my wife and I made when planning a wedding was to book at the Cotton Mill. It is a stunning property that needs very little decor because of how much character the building already boasts. The staff is great and the space is very flexible, depending on the size of your wedding. The only small obstacle, is that there is not an oven in the food prep room, so make sure your caterer is able to bring the necessary equipment the day of the event. 10/10!

After looking at several venues once we entered the Cotton Mill my daughter and her fiancé immediately said "This is it"!!. The venue is beautiful and we wanted to get married and have reception at the same place. We had my daughters wedding at the Cotton Mill on 6/11/16 at 6:00pm. Because of the unique historic character and rustic look there was very little to do in decorations. The staff is top notch and made the planning very stress free. They are extremely accommodating and offer suggestions for Caterer, florists, music etc.,The day of the event it started to storm and rain 3 hours prior to the event. We had already discussed plan B if it was to rain and they were prepared for both options. Thankfully it stopped, chairs were dried and it went off without any issues.Erin is wonderful to work with and has a calming personality which helped me concentrate on what I needed and they took care of the rest. We had 160 guests and every person attending commented that this was the best wedding they had ever been to. The venue was perfect and spacious so you didn't feel cramped.I highly recommend using this venue and their team.Laura Merla
